Alexander Wilson Man of the Birds Frank renfrow copyright 1991. Considered the father of North American Ornithology, Alexander Wilson came to America in 1794. I always had a fascination for reading about his life, as a weaver, poet. musician and bird artist. A rebel against authority, he came here in exile from Renfrewshire, Scotland after penning an unfriendly verse against millowner. I wrote this song in 1983 and revised it in 1991.
