In this video, the speaker discusses updates and news about the second season of "The Rings of Power" TV show. The big news is that Season 2 will be released later this year, possibly in late 2024. The showrunners, Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne, have signed a new 3-year deal with Amazon, indicating confidence in future seasons. Although Season 3 has not been officially ordered, the showrunners have started working on the initial story outline. The production hub for the show will be moved from Bray Studios to Shepparton Studios in the UK. Amazon has expressed their support for the show and the showrunners. The director, Charlotte Bramstrom, mentions that Season 2 will have a more worn and dirtier look, with surprising twists. The episodes are expected to be completed this year. The speaker also reveals the directors for each episode of Season 2 and mentions that post-production is scheduled to be finished by June 2024. There Hello friends and welcome back to another video, where today we are going to be looking at everything we know for the Rings of Power Season 2 and it is an updated version of this series that we've been running on the channel over the last years and because over the last few weeks we've had a few more updates surrounding the quite silent and secret Rings of Power Season 2 production so we have a few articles, sources, news outlets coming out, releasing some stuff, even people from the show themselves speaking about it as well so we've got a lot to digest and unpack in today's video, so if we're doing that please also make sure to like and subscribe and keep up to date with everything Fellowship of Fans but without further ado, don't also forget the Discord link is the top link in the description as well, but let's get right into it The first thing, which is the big news of the video, is that through the Hollywood Reporter they are able to confirm, which is basically through Amazon as well, that's how trades work that Season 2 will be coming out this year and is expected for this year, of course at Fellowship of Fans we've been running this for a long time that don't worry Season 2 will be coming out this year and it has ended up being true and from what we understand is going to be late 2024 so probably anywhere from September to December, but maybe a premiere date around September to October would make the most sense and following this news we had some quite interesting updates around the show on us, whether people like this news or not, it is interesting nonetheless something you can let us know about in the comments below, as Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne have signed a new 3 year deal, an overall deal with Amazon which most likely according to Insiders is securing future seasons of the show, so they are doing this before Season 2 has even aired or even finished production and by production I mean having the episodes fully finished in post production, so it seems like Amazon have a lot of confidence in these showrunners is it too premature to already give them another 3 year deal which at least at minimum secures a Season 3 or do you feel like it is fair, it's good to be confident and have these people go forward who started with their vision and to now end with their vision let us know in the comments below, and we also got some updates around Season 3 as well, while a 3rd season hasn't officially been ordered and the writers room has not yet opened the showrunners have started to break the initial story outline and of course this would make sense at this point but it is interesting that the writing has not begun for Season 3 yet, so that probably means we'll probably be seeing another year and a half to 2 year wait between Season 2 and Season 3 but hopefully because Amazon had to move from New Zealand to England, the distance in between seasons will be a bit more shorter but let's see if they are waiting to see how Season 2 does and then can use their advice and learn experiences and feedback from there to make a better Season 3 or even greater Season 3 I mean, because we don't know how Season 2 is going to pan out In addition, Amazon is also planning to move the show's production hub from Bray Studios to a new production facility at nearby Shepparton Studios in the UK yes they are still staying in Berkshire for their main hub for their studios and for recording of course Bray Studios was used for Season 2, of course the fire happened there etc even though that was a small fire it looks like they are planning, I believe Bray Studios was just a temporary location because Shepparton was still being built at the time Also, we've got a quote or pile of quotes from Vernon Sanders who is the head of television at Amazon Studios He did speak at the start of the year saying we should be seeing Season 3 renewals soon but we hadn't heard from him for months after that but now we have more quotes from him where he says quote We began this remarkable journey with JD and Patrick more than five and a half years ago and have never looked back We continue to be amazed by the scope and scale of their vision and the enormous global success achieved by The Lord of the Rings, The Rings of Power in its record-breaking first season We can't wait for Prime Video customers to experience the epic adventure and high-stakes drama that JD and Patrick are continuing to build throughout Season 2 and beyond Naturally, the studio's thrill takes in our overall deal with these brilliant creative minds as they continue to deliver on their passion for great storytelling So it looks like from this, Amazon is backing their guys till the end now whether of course it's going to be good or bad it seems like they will have their back so that seems to be the main thing from here and mainly the fact he also said throughout Season 2 and beyond so that basically confirms that even if Season 2 isn't the best there will still be Season 3 as well and maybe Season 4 beyond that so at least we know now that we're going to be in the wrong run for this show so we might as well of course some people might just clock out now some people might be like no let's give this show more of a chance some people are happy about it already and can't wait for Season 2 there's so many different aspects you can take this from so let us know where are you mindset wise with this showrunner update but of course there has been more than the showrunner speaking well more so Vernon Sanders as director Charlotte Bramstrom had some quotes about the Rings of Power Season 2 in her recent interview with Swedish media outlet Moviesign so overall the theme from this interview is that the director has direct half of the new season's episodes and she basically says they aim for a more worn and dirtier look so she said quote I think it will be a very good season we try to make it more shabby or a bit dirtier I guess and not visually that is but more to make it as authentic as possible we have some very surprising twists in it too so there is quite a lot to impact there first of all I know we mentioned this in our last video Charlotte Bramstrom is the director of some of the episodes of Shogun which is doing really really well right now so many people love it I'm certainly enjoying it right now and even there you can see first of all they get the lighting right in battle scenes when it's night of course something Game of Thrones could have learned from in the later seasons and of course people did talk about oh the fight for the Battle of Tiharald in season 1 even though since episode 6 people said that was the best episode it still wasn't on a large scale it didn't really feel worn in but it seems like coming when we see Shogun it was absolutely incredible the fight scenes in there and the battles at night so it looks like hopefully that can be replicated with Charlotte who will be taking the action episodes as well which was also confirmed by her so hopefully we'll be going to be seeing that and also another interesting thing is the theme of it being darker and character driven that's very important because it seemed like at some points in season 1 the show was just following the narrative was just following itself it wasn't character driven it was just coincidental everything was so not everything but that seemed like to be the theme something would happen and we're going to Numenor now in episode 5 and it wasn't really character driven so hopefully we're going to be seeing a bit of a reverse on that as well which is quite exciting and it's good she's seeing rough cuts which means the episodes are mostly done and again leads to the fact that we will be seeing them this year and of course the final thing about twists and of course that can be linked to Saruon and Natara as well I'm sure that's going to be part of it but there's probably more to come as well and we still have to see a lot of new characters at some point in the show like Anardion, Celeborn, Cirdan etc and potentially a few of them in season 2 or Cirdan which has been confirmed by Amazon so now thanks to Vedainian Intelligence we also now know who's now also thanks to Vedainian Intelligence we now know who's directing each episode of season 2 so episode 1 is Charlotte Branstrom episode 2 is Louise Hooper 3 is Charlotte Branstrom 4 is Louise Hooper 5 is Sana Hamri and episode 6 is as well then episode 7 and 8 are both Charlotte Branstrom Sana Hamri did actually work on the Wheel of Time season 2 which ended up getting quite a lot of good reviews I did also believe she did direct 4 episodes of that as well and that had a big improvement from season 1 so looking back at it now of course from the start when you see these lists of directors when they came out in 2022 even I'll be honest it looked like I was like not 100% confident in it yet but now Sana Hamri is just on the back of doing a great Wheel of Time and Charlotte Branstrom is killing it with Shogun so that's really exciting that hopefully at least that way we're going to be getting some good stuff but of course it all comes down to the writing and the writers the directors can only do so much and I do understand that takes a while and I agree I'm not going 100% into oh it's going to be amazing now because all these directors have done well recently of course the writers have to and the writing, the dialogue, everything the storytelling has to be good and that's something they can't always control so also we know that post-production is still scheduled to be done by June 2024 and that is the news from us as well so that's a leak and finally we now know House of the Dragon is premiering in June 2024 so there won't be any clash or overlap between the House of the Dragon and the Rings of Power and of course that is good news in the end because I think I feel like they're two fancy shows they should have room to breathe and of course House of the Dragon of course people have their personal opinions of course and I feel like that did better in the end out of Rings of Power and they were always compared etc so maybe this will give the Rings of Power chances to breathe on its own not have that comparison of House of the Dragon looming over it so that's the updated version of everything we know so far for the Rings of Power Season 2 there is a playlist if you want to see all the early episodes if you want to be caught up with everything that we know so far for Season 2 of the Rings of Power thank you guys for watching I really do appreciate it let us know your thoughts on all these recent news in the comments below but without further ado we'll see you in the next one goodbye
