In the video, they discuss various updates about season 2 of the Rings of Power show. The Swedish director, Charlotte Brandtrom, is returning and will direct four episodes this season. Two new directors, Sana Hamri and Louise Hooper, have also joined. There are many new cast members, including Ben Daniels, Will Keane, and Ciaran Hines. The role of Adar has been recast, and there will be a two-episode battle later in the season. The filming location has changed to England due to Covid-related issues. Some set pictures have been leaked, showing the destruction of the Eregion set and the Mordor sets. There will be new characters and new locations explored in season 2. Hello friends and welcome back to another video, where today we will be discussing and looking at everything we know about the Rings of Power season 2 so far, and this will include official and unofficial information pertaining to the show. So first up, directors wise, we know that Charlotte Brandtrom, the Swedish director for episodes 6 and 7 of season 1, is returning this season for season 2 as director, but this time for 4 episodes instead of 2, and is now also an executive producer, so this clearly shows that Amazon does have confidence in her and her directing. We have 2 new directors as well, including Sana Hamri, who originally was a music video director, but recently directed over 4 episodes of The Wheel of Time season 2, including the finale, which has got decent raves so far, so she has some fancy experience there as well. We also have another director, Louise Hooper, who has worked on The Witcher and other projects, so again, more fancy projects. As for the cast, moving on, there has been many new additions, so we will look at some of the main ones, which are Ben Daniels, who we recently could have seen in Foundation season 2, where he was graded, Zades Ator, Will Keane, known from his Dark Materials etc, Callum Lynch, known mainly for Bridgerton, and the of course very well known and respected Ciaran Hines. Alongside Sam Hazeldyne, Rory Kinnear, who is in the James Bond movies, Tanya Moody, and many more. Included in the prior list is the new Adar actor, Sam Hazeldyne, as the role has been recast, with Joseph Marley no longer playing the character. No official reason was given, but it has been understood that there were some problems from both sides, between Joseph Marley and a director from season 1, and a few other tidbits too, but again, nothing official, but Joseph Marley did post this on Instagram when his leaving was announced. Season 2 will again have 8 episodes, which will also include a 2 episode battle, as revealed by showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, who also very recently have signed with the Top Creative Agency, so that was quite interesting news for their future careers beyond Rings of Power, and what that means for the show itself as well, by being signed to the Top Agency in the Hollywood business. Also, we know that this 2 episode battle will be later in the season, as in an interview with Hal Brandt slash Sauron actor Charlie Vickers after the finale of season 1, he revealed that he had gotten the scripts for the first 3 episodes, and that it didn't include any mention, or at least the battle itself yet. In the same interview, he also revealed that from what he had seen from the first 3 scripts so far, it seemed quite exciting, and includes a lot of canon and lore moments, and events for Sauron, which will be intriguing to see which ones. There was a change in location for the Rings of Power season 2, which moved from New Zealand, the supposed home of Middle Earth, for many years due to the Peter Jackson film trilogies filming there, to England, with the main base being at Bray Studios, Berkshire. There are many reasons for the change, including New Zealand's handling of the Covid outbreak, and the delays caused, and the far travelling distance and residence for many of the majorly UK based cast for the Rings of Power season 2, so the change made it more sustainable. But that didn't go without some controversies, as a horse did die at Shottersbrook Park, which is quite close to Bray Studios, and even then, at Bray Studios, one of the studios was set on fire, but luckily this wasn't one of the main studio buildings. But moving on to some more better news, we know that from Bray Studios, we got some cool set pictures from a drone, with the photographer credited on screen, and it shows the Eregion set before, and then after it was destroyed, or presumably destroyed during this battle. This could be linked, as said before, to the 2 episode battle. Also, we have the Mordor sets, including the Ork Tunnel set. Finally, we have some photos from the battle sets, which shows the Eregion Wall, and some dedged soldiers in the ground, and also massive trebuchets in the forest line. Furthermore, we have some set pictures of actors, such as Isildur, and actor Neital, who's playing the human character Estrid. More recently, we leaked a picture of an Elven soldier on horseback, especially showing their armour, similar to the Peter Jackson trilogy, and long hair as well, something quite missed, or not really seen in season 1. Next up, some new characters that we know will appear in season 2 is Kier Dan the Shipwright, as confirmed by Amazon themselves, before season 1 premiered, but from what we have released, also Nari the Dwarf, who will be played by Kevin Eldon, Celeborn, who is played by Callum Lynch, Shelob will also make a very brief appearance, and so many more characters as well. As for new locations, it has been heavily implied that we will be heading to Rune with Nari and the Strange in season 2, and even during season 1, producer Lindsay Webber mentioned that the Mystics had originated from there and had come over, so it makes sense that then we go back over there again.
