Two new canon characters, Navi the Dwarf and Shelob, will be joining Season 2 of Rings of Power. Galadriel will be acquainted with Nenya in Season 2. Peter Milan hinted at the possibility of more rings. Morveth Clark and other cast members have been nominated for Emmy Awards. The cast has teased that Season 2 will have more action and higher stakes. Ishmael Cruz Cordova faced racist backlash and hacking during Season 1. The cast is sworn to secrecy about Season 2 but hinted at darkness and more action. Saruwan's return will affect all the characters and their choices. Filming for Season 2 is wrapped, but Amazon may not make an announcement due to the WGA strike. Whilst there have been new actors, there have also been new characters whereby us at Fellowship of Fans have revealed two new canon characters will be joining the Rings of Power Season 2. Firstly, Navi the Dwarf, the companion of Celebrimbor who helped build the Doors of Durin. Then also Shelob, the well known character from the Lord of the Rings books and movies, will have a smaller role in the second season. We also learnt from Morveth Clark that Galadriel will be acquainted with Nenya in Season 2. She's about to have a life changing thing happen to her. She's about to become acquainted with Nenya, her ring. It's really exciting to see how the magic creeps in, Clark said at the show's FYC event in Hollywood. However, Peter Milan also teased, quote, there are more rings. The show is called the Rings of Power. Maybe I'll be getting a new necklace. Who knows. Cheeky Peter Milan who portrays King Durin III in the series teased. That's quite interesting because he might be hinting at the fact that he might be also receiving one of the Dwarven Rings of Power. Though tight lipped about the King's accessories, he also confirmed his character's relationship with his son Prince Durin, quote, gets very problematic and maybe this could be about accepting one of the Dwarven Rings of Power. Now, two awards as Emmy Awards season is coming up soon. Morveth Clark in April won the Madame Figaro Rising Star Award and has also been put forward by Amazon in the supported actor nominations. Amazon has also put forward Hawaiian Arthur, Sofia Novetti, Peter Milan, Ishmael Cruz Cordova. Speaking of Ishmael Cruz Cordova, we also learned last month that Prime Video provided an on-set therapist to help the actors deal with the racist backlash against his casting. He revealed it wasn't just attacks on social media, that his phone got hacked, his bank statements had been hacked, his bank accounts, his PayPal got hacked, apparently friends got messages, death threats, etc. So, it seems like he went through quite the wringer and hopefully that will change with season 2. The cast have also been making some interesting comments about what we could see in the second season. Firstly, Sofia Novetti who said, quote, season 1 was a time of relative peace and introductory time meeting everybody. Season 2 is the unravelling of it all. It's when the forces of evil really starts to put pressure on Midlife and we watch how everyone that we know and hopefully love handles that situation. The stakes are higher. We see what that force of evil does to each race and to each relationship. There's so much more action. We weathered the storms and there's a real sense of confidence in who and what we are. I'm really excited about it. The cast seemingly are sworn to secrecy when it comes to season 2 but they did share some pointers in a dialogue. Arthur said, darkness has fallen. Let's say that. We're all going through a big journey in season 2. We know that Saruwan is here. Then Maxine Brodery also added, I'd say it's a little more action packed. There's a lot more action. Then Arthur responded, yeah, it is certainly quicker and there's more happening. Finally, Lloyd Owen expands further, quote, we all know that Saruwan has been revealed at the end of season 1 and therefore what happens when the amount of evil is finally realised, each person throughout the universe, throughout Tolkien's world is going to be affected by that. There's always going to be a human choice as to what happens when you're introduced to evil and is there an inherent badness or darkness in you that will be revealed or will you move to the good side. So everyone is going to be faced with a dilemma, a moral dilemma and there are going to be some really difficult choices for each human to make. This is quite interesting as it pinpoints and highlights the effect of men and how they're different to elves and of course the dwarves for potentially being more corruptible. And within his family himself, Elendil has Aeadian and Maxine Brodery who play the Thildor who both seem quite opinionated on all this, especially Aeadian. So it'll be interesting to see how that family dynamic of Saruwan returning will work out and overall it looks like everyone in Middle-earth is facing the effects of Saruwan. Finally, on the 6th of June, we at Fellowship of Fans called Wrapped on the Rings of Power Season 2 filming and said that there would be a Wrapped Party Friday and indeed there were some photos of it being on screen right now, including a lot of familiar actors. However, unfortunately, don't expect an announcement from Amazon any time soon about Wrapped though, most likely due to the WGA strike.
