The Shatters - I Want a Car!

Erupting out of suburban Milwaukee in ’66, The Shatters were four frustrated teens whose parents refused to let them borrow the family vehicles — a grievance they channeled directly into their sole recorded tantrum, “I Want a Car!” Fronted by Bobby “Bumper” Dell, whose snotty yelp could practically dent sheet metal, the band hammered out this raucous two-minute blast in a VFW basement after being kicked out of driver’s ed for “general attitude problems.”
