Hissy Fit - Blame It On My Youth

Formed in 1967 in a grimy Lansing bowling-alley lounge after hours, Hissy Fit was fronted by Roxy Vane, a chain-smoking teen dropout whose half-sung, half-snarled vocals made nervous chaperones claim she was “corrupting the youth on purpose.” Their lone surviving track, “Blame It on My Youth,” was recorded on a malfunctioning reel-to-reel that kept overheating, giving the guitars a blown-speaker rasp that modern collectors insist sounds “proto-punk on accident.”
