The transcription discusses the concept of rebellion and how cigarettes pretend to be a symbol of independence, but actually control the smoker. It encourages the listener to realize that not smoking is the true form of rebellion and that they have the willpower to succeed. It also mentions the benefits of being healthy and productive, spending time with loved ones, and the gradual change in mindset towards smoking. Ultimately, the message is to focus on personal growth and believe in the ability to quit smoking. We've all done things when we were younger, because we were stubborn, or because we wanted to be different. It's good to be different, and kids do many things to rebel, their hairstyle, clothing, lifestyle. There are many different ways of rebelling, because rebelling is really about doing what you want to do, about being in control of what you do or don't do, not being made to do what you don't want to do, which shows how clever cigarettes really are, because they pretend to be a badge of your independence, they make you think you like them, and that it's your choice to smoke them, and yet, really, haven't they been in control of you, making you smoke them, doing as they make you do? How independent is that really? How much control have you really had? Not having a choice isn't rebelling, it's doing what everybody else does, behaving like everybody else. In a way, anything less than being in control of not smoking isn't rebelling, is it? From today, you might be surprised at just how easy it is to make the choice not to smoke, as you were never really a smoker anyway. We can both wonder what it might be the first thing you notice that lets you know just how productive you can be when you put your mind to it and focus on what's important to you to move forward in a healthier way. And you might not totally believe it yet, that you have all the willpower you need to succeed, until that moment when you know it's true, and things change, don't they? And there are many experiences that you've had in your life that can remind you to relax and just enjoy being you. And we can both wonder what small things happen over the coming days that make you realise you're changing. So whether it happens now or later, it doesn't matter, just that you know it is. As you consider those small things that motivate you each day to be productive and healthy, the thought that you will be around longer to spend time with Jeannie, and to know that a healthier you can experience spending time with your children and your grandchildren. Whatever it is that resonates with you, and you know that it just makes sense for you as a person to be the healthiest version of yourself. As you grow older, day by day, faith in the knowledge that you are doing all you can to move forward towards your goal. It might not be until later that you realise how much more relaxed you are becoming. And because of this, you might just start to feel more confident, which could relax you even more. And you know there is a time when you don't even think about smoking. And after today, you might be surprised how much more often this begins to happen. And you may not even notice until long after you've forgotten. At the end of each day, looking back just before you fall asleep, realising how your mind is focused on so many other things, positive, useful things, that it's easy to have forgotten because they're not important. You know, it may have happened with your keys, how they can be in front of you, but invisible. It happens all the time that you don't even see the things that you don't need now. There are so many other things to see or hear instead for you to be in tune with yourself. So at some point in the future, we can imagine that you have learned what you most needed to learn to make you a non-smoker now. And it isn't important that you even know consciously what it is you could learn in the future now that makes it possible. And what will be the first thing you notice that lets you know your unconscious has learned it? So, we can wonder how that feeling to smoke you once had could feel different to you now. However it would feel different, that means you're winning. Only feeling it in a way that means it's getting weaker and weaker. So you could hear inside, whether it's your voice or someone else's, this is working, this is working, I am winning, I am capable of stopping. Because you never really were a smoker anyway. So as you become more relaxed and more confident, your belief can grow and grow as you move forward in life towards your goal of being healthy and productive.
