For Black History Month, we're centering and celebrating Black lesbians! Starting off with Pariah (2011). Written and directed by Dee Rees, it tells the story of Alike ("Lee"), a 17-year-old Black teenager embracing her identity as a lesbian both in her conservative family as well as the larger Black lesbian community and at school. She knows who she is, but how can she figure out how to be herself in the world?
