Overall, they have mixed opinions but acknowledge the game's unique elements and potential. Welcome back to the Game Room Podcast, I'm Hayden Duncombe, I'm with Terry Copeland, and I feel like we're good, and our star guest, Dylan Chastain. Okay, today we're talking about Fortnite Battle Royale, it's been a pretty big game since 2017, pretty big, pretty nasty. What do you think about Fortnite Battle Royale? Definitely not my cup of tea, but from the videos and other people's reactions from it, it does look like a game I could get into, possibly. What do you think about it? I would say it's a pretty fun game to play with friends and people from your school. I also like the amount of variety, just how creative you can be in the game too. It has a lot more variety than some other shooter games I've ever played. I do really like the open world aspect of it, like how big it is, and how there's diverse biomes. Now I wish there was a feature where certain biomes do certain things, for example in the winter biome, you slow down or something, give or take. What do you think about it Dylan? I like the game, it's interesting. You can do things that you can't do on any other games, you can build on there in your shooter game, which no other two person shooter game can do that. I like the add-on building, I feel like you being able to choose how you build, like building your own base and protection is definitely one thing that sets it aside from other shooter games. I agree, it's pretty nice. Personally, I like the racing mode a lot, they recently added it in the past month or so, the fortnite rally racing. I think it's pretty fun, very challenging when people bump into you. What do you think about the fortnite racing game? Oh, I have no idea on it, but it does sound like an interesting game mode. Is it a game mode specifically? Yes, it is. I reached platinum 3 in rocket racing. It's pretty fun once you realize how to control it all, except for when you fly off the side of the map and die, and you have to restart like 20 feet behind where you did start, and you're behind everybody. Yeah, that's my biggest problem with it, because I sometimes spin out of control. You start going the opposite way. Is it similar to Mario Kart, like when you die, you just reset or something like that? Yeah, pretty much. But you can't, you only die if, the collision in the game is really bad. You could be going, and there would be a sideways platform. I think they made an update for it. To make it more realistic. To make it so you don't get out of control. It used to be really bad, like there was a sideways platform or something, like just a straight platform, and you ran into the middle of it, you would instantly die, and you'd have to restart. Yeah, that's not the greatest design there. No, but they did just come out with it, because Epic Games did buy the rights for Rocket League. Oh, did they? Yeah. Oh, that's cool. That's why they didn't do all the crossovers and all that. What do y'all think about the cosmetics in the game, like how you can have Master Chief, Snap, and Darth Vader, while Blue Skywalker is fighting Indiana Jones? Well, me personally, I think it's fine. I just wish some of the older skins were still available. Like the one they gave Widow? Yeah, and because like the majority of them are gone and stuff, and you can't get them back. Well, that's like the best part of it, because you happen to have those skins. That shows you've been there. And that does show you're really good. Yeah, it shows that you're a dedicated fan and stuff. I like. I'm gonna add on that. I do like the amount of variety when it comes to skins in the game. Not everything has to be Fortnite, though. Like how they're trying to get Mario and Chris. May I comment? You can comment. Okay, I don't like Family Guy, though, because they make him muscular. But, I mean, they kind of can't make him how he normally is because of the game mechanics. He would be too big. Yeah, but, come on. It's Family Guy. You can't make him muscular. What's wrong with the Musculapita? It just doesn't feel like it, okay? I think it's better. Oh, interesting. You don't know. He could have worked out a little bit. Oh, yeah. He actually drank the Flirt Juice, and he got killed. But that, the thing is, ain't that a Shield Flirt Drink? Yeah, but it was expired. Oh, so it's better than that. And it was from Yahoo. Exactly. Yeah, I do not know the Fortnite lore. What do you think about that, Dylan? That's crazy. Wow. Anyways, what do y'all think about Lego Fortnite? I've had a lot of fun with it so far. It's a very fun game, though. Very enjoyable. I love the building and the camping mechanics, but the durability on the weapons isn't the greatest. What do y'all think about that? I have not tried it yet. I have no information on it, so I can't comment on something I do not have any information about. For the record, I built my own house without having to use one of the, like, starter houses. Wow, so it's just going to be different now. Yeah. Wait. I wanted to build my own house, but then all my friends were just building, like, the regular, like, starter houses. I have a question. So what's the difference between Fortnite and Lego Fortnite? Lego Fortnite is like the Minecraft of Fortnite. It's a survival game with, uh, bosses. And you can build houses, get, like, pig-asses, axes. Yeah. That actually, but it's Lego. That actually does sound like fire. And it even has the random open world generators that Minecraft has. So it's always fractions. Yeah, but it always has a snow and sand biome, but it's never the same. It also makes your PC or your console sound like a Boeing F-47. Hmm. Oh, yeah, it doesn't, I don't know. I got the new Series X from Chris and all that, so, you know, I run a bit of it. So it's like Legos, Fortnite, and Minecraft all together in one thing. Pretty much. That's pretty cool. Yeah, that actually does sound pretty cool. Like a Battle Royale, like, Minecraft, where you just survive. Well, it's not Battle Royale. You can't, like, kill people. Oh, so it's just, you just survive. Yeah. Okay, so it's just Animal Crossing. It might add a point to where you can PvP, but it's a PvE. Yeah, no, you're just playing with your friends, you like them back. That actually does sound pretty fun. But that's a different change of pace, so. Maybe that's a good sign of the future for, like, the company that makes Fortnite and Epic Games in general. Yeah, because that's a big thing. Like, Epic Games is trying to be like the new Steam. They're trying to be like the new Nintendo. The new big company that's revolutionizing video games. And they're doing pretty good, honestly, because they got Guitar Hero in Fortnite now, too. The Fortnite Festival is pretty much just Guitar Hero. And I really enjoy it, and I really enjoy the music they're getting with it. It's really enjoyable. Now, I have a question for you. What do you think about Epic Games in general? Like, just the company? The company itself. I think it's pretty good, and they're trying to be Steam, which is like a big thing with them. They're trying to be the new Steam. But Steam's already, like, so big already. So it's going to be hard for them. But they're releasing free games, one free game every month. And, like, six, seven free games for December. Even though it's already past that, you know. They release them. And they're doing pretty good, but the hardest part is getting the rights for the games. Because Steam already has all the rights. So they got to try to get the better prices and try to get all the people on Steam up to their website. Yeah, to get some loyal supporters and stuff. Yeah. What do you think about that, anyway? I think Epic Games isn't my favorite gaming company out there. I'm more personally of, like, a Nintendo kind of person. Just because I just like the wider variety of games they have. I do like what Epic Games is doing. I agree. They're not the best gaming company, but they're doing pretty good. I mean, yes. No one is the best. Everyone has their own, like, problems. No one can be perfect. As long as they, like, try to be genuine and good to their fans and stuff, then yeah. I'm fine with Epic Games. Yeah, but, you know, my favorite part, personally, is being able to play as Optimus Prime. Killing Master Chief, Five Years of War, characters coming over, sprinting towards you with their shotgun. More Darth Vaders over there, which is a lot of flavor on top of them now. You know? I mean, I think that's the best part of the game. I guess so, but at the end of the day, those are only just skins. What's y'all's comment on the Wyvern thing? The new one for the new season? Yeah. I thought it was pretty good. When they said they were going to have an M&M concert, or M&M, I was very, very excited for it. That's my favorite rapper. And I was quite disappointed in how they did it, but I did not see Godzilla. Yeah, I've seen the event, and it's definitely not my favorite. Probably my favorite, I forget what it's called, but you know where the giant teddy bear robot defeated the monster? Yeah, that! That was my favorite event thus far. But definitely the M&M event is definitely not my favorite. I liked it because no other game beats having concerts on their game. That's a good point. Actually, Call of Duty did, with King Kong and Godzilla. Well, that was a live event, but not a concert. I thought Roblox did. But you know what it does have? But not many games have concerts on their game. And not many games have events. So that's a very live event. I mean, that is a pretty original idea from 4-B. Because they do have a lot of concerts. Yeah, a majority of gaming companies don't actually have events at the same multitude as Epic Games. And Epic Games also allows you to use your creativity like Roblox. You can, for a few years now, make your own map in the creative game mode. If you are a creator or are sponsored by Epic, you are able to make a creative map your own or with friends. And then people are able to play that. And you can actually make pretty good money off of that if you do that full time. And I think that's really good on Epic. They are really engaging with the community. They even did a game of the year for the creative maps for the players. I have a question. What is your greatest hot take of Fortnite in general? Probably that Fortnite is probably one of the biggest games ever made. I think that's a pretty hot take people need to consider. I do agree with that statement. There are way bigger games than Fortnite. But yeah, it's still quite huge. What do you think about that, Eli? I would definitely agree. Fortnite is not one of the biggest games out there. Because Minecraft is kind of competing to it. Yeah, except for the whole content creators. We don't get into that subject. Let's talk late night. Late night 3am thoughts. What is your favorite season on Fortnite? That's a very good question. I started back in Season 7, Chapter 1. I'd probably have to say Chapter 2, Season 2. Or Chapter 2, Season 4 was my favorite. Chapter 2, Season 2 was the agency of season. With Phlegmitis and all that. I really had a lot of fun. But Chapter 2, Season 4 was a marvel season. And I loved that season. What do you think, Harry? Personally, I haven't kept up with them. Because like I said, it's not really my game. I have another question. What do you think about the maps and how it changes over time? This new map, I really like. It has great graphics. It looks good. But the previous map, not the OG. But this Chapter 3, I didn't really like too much. I think my favorite map has been... Probably the Chapter 3, Season 1 map. With the one that had Spider-Man in it. Just because I'm a bigger fan of the winter. Wintery City? Yeah. Like when the maps get snowballed and all that. That sounds exactly what happened in Chapter 1, Season 7. When the Ice King asked over all the maps. Yeah, but I didn't play Chapter 1, Season 7. I started in Chapter 3, Season 7. I'm disappointed in that. Anyways. If you think any creator right now should get a knock on, who do you think it should be? Personally, I think it should be NickA30. NickA30 has done nothing bad to the game. He has never possibly said one bad thing in the game right now. And he's just been overjoyed about the game. He's just always said that the game is great. You should definitely get the game. He's always been an advocate for it. He's a really positive... How passionate is he about the game? He's very passionate. He loves the game. He's an all-time supporter of it. But then we see in the last Battle Pass, not the OG, the one before that, that Cabby Lane, I don't think he even plays Fortnite. He might now. He got an Icon skin in the Battle Pass before NickA30 got one. I think DJ Caleb should get his own Icon skin. But they would probably have to do the same like what they did with Peter Griffin, because his body structure would not work. His body structure would not work in a match. Yeah, that's a big thing. What do you think, Dylan? Has TypicalGamer gotten one yet? He has not. What? I thought he did. I think he does too. But personally, I think if one would have to get one now, it would have to be Nick. I mean, TypicalGamer has been playing quite frequently on Fortnite. That's the majority of his content now. He's one of the greatest content creators that has to do with games. That's a tough take. Yeah, I will agree. I will agree. That is definitely a wild thing to say. I would say LaserBean is probably my favorite. I'd say LaserBean is definitely my favorite Fortnite content creator. I love LaserBean. But TypicalGamer is not the greatest Fortnite content creator ever, but we do all have our own opinions. But I think opinions matter. Everyone has different tastes. Okay, gentlemen. Let's be civil. Yeah, be civil. It's just a podcast, okay? Maybe Asha's feed needs to get his own icon. Oh, right. Okay, now I agree with that. I don't like feed. No, he needs... he has to have a dog with him. He has to have a dog with him because he's always barking. I think he should have an emote where he just barks a lot. Like, that's his signature move. Okay, yeah. That would be a great emote. But he barely plays Fortnite that much. He does. He does play it, but he doesn't play it that much. Asha's feed, he's definitely very... Yeah, he's a very interesting subject of a person, okay? If you know who he is, he's a little wild. My favorite clip of him is when he's got the ticket to the fireworks thing and he lights it up in his room. And it starts shooting off. And it starts going off in his room And it starts going off in his room. And he starts screaming for his phone to go on it. And firefighters go on it. Okay, that's probably my favorite clip too, but I think that's my favorite clip as well. Let's get on the topic of Fortnite. Yeah, Fortnite. Let's see what we're here for. I think Fortnite's done pretty well. They've made billions of dollars off their skins and stuff. They've made a lot of stuff. A lot of money. What do y'all think about their money making? Well, I mean, good for them. They're making their money and stuff. As long as they just don't screw over their fans. Go ahead. Just keep playing. What about you, Willa? I mean, I do definitely like some of the skins that they've got in Fortnite. Okay, guys. We're going to have to end this podcast here today. I hope y'all liked listening. Y'all have a good rest of y'all day.
