Welcome, dear listeners, to a sacred journey through the pages of God's Word. I'm your guide in this adventure, Steve Kitts, and I'm truly grateful that you've joined me in another session of During Bible Study podcast. Before we look closer into these verses that will illuminate your heart and your mind today, let us pause for a moment in prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, as we open your precious Word, we look for your guidance and wisdom. May the Holy Spirit be our teacher. Illuminate the truth within each of these sacred pages. Bless all those that tune in today that they may find solace, inspiration, and spiritual growth through what is shared and explored in your Word. In Jesus' holy name, we pray, and amen. Amen. We're going this morning in service for the communion of the saints. Give them my blessing. I promise to give them a certain order to their liking. I thank God for that, amen? First, in the inscription we're gonna be looking at this morning, and that's gonna be the book of John, chapter four. We know that Jesus Christ conquered hell, death, and the grave for us. We know that he went and sat on the right hand of the Father to make him a savior for you and I today. We know the things that he done by what is down here at John, and there's so many people back to life, amen? Sometimes we don't understand why he went through the group for us. The book of John, here in chapter four, talks about how he was tempted to die just like you are every day that walks the life. Charlie, no matter what we do, amen, that's what's life, Jesus has done been through. Amen? Amen. You know, it's not a sin to be tempted. It's not a sin to be tempted, it's not a sin to be disobeyed. The devil made a way for you to be tempted every day, and if I don't even stare at what a lot of people said and a lot of people question about this, and people say, well, God don't tempt you. Well, I have to let you know that God did, because there ain't no such thing, amen? So we don't even have to point it out. God said when he did tempt you, see, he made a way out. Everything that Jesus Christ went through here, John, he knowed what he was gonna face that morning. He knows those 40 days and those 40 nights when he went and he prayed and he sinned and he thanked that the end was coming. Now, we look at it in a different way, Sharon, and I know I'm a little bit ahead of myself. I mean, I never read it, but I know it's the Word of God. Amen? But I know what the Bible says when he was tempted, amen? After he was tried, you know what? We sometimes think we get weak and faint, amen? We think that's when the devil's coming after us and this and that. But I'm here to tell you, the Bible teaches me Charlie, God will never have my head. But I'm here to tell you, the devil knows everything about your life, just like God does, amen? He wouldn't know how to torment you, wouldn't know how to come up against you, in every form and fashion he can. In the Lamb, he let up on Jesus Christ in the time that Jesus Christ came out of his mother's womb and seeked to kill her. He didn't stop there. He tried everything in the world to pull her down to get him on his side. Even when he was in heaven, I'm talking about the enemy of that Satan. He tried every way in the world to take over the heavenly land and he tried to overthrow God and get God's kingdom up there. He was after all of what God had created, amen? He knows a little bit more than you think, amen? And I'm not giving him no credit, I'm not giving him no glory. God says that you're supposed to give him praise and glory this morning. Who you're gonna worship now, if you're worshiping Satan, that's who you're gonna worship and that's who you're gonna get out of, that's who you're gonna get praise from, amen? This ain't no two-way street, it's a one-way street, amen? And Jesus said he was a one-way, amen, to the Father. As the brother was teaching this morning, there was something that happened that Jesus Christ made a way for people to pray, amen? And sat down and provided heaven's Father just where he's at. That's the way I believe. I believe when you get on fire for God and I believe that when you start talking to God, you're not staying here, but you're staying up there with him. The Bible says he's standing on the right hand of the Father to make intercession for you and I. He was teaching. He was teaching for me. He was teaching for everybody in the church. He was talking to us in the church and he was put through the frame. Satan tore him down. Listen, Satan had you down. Amen! Listen, when you got to Jesus Christ, no more side up, no matter what it is up. I used to like a jersey to drink my cold beer back in the day. I'm not gonna lie to you again. And Jesus Christ was teaching us around the land because he's been passing right there. And what's the first thing God is teaching with us? Well, let me put it in that way. A loaf of bread, amen? Let's put it that way. How about that? I bet it wasn't this, believe me. But listen, he had the power of the Father on his side. He doesn't make sure of that. And he turned and said, no, I don't need that. I thank God that every time the end comes, that I've got enough of God in me. I'm not perfect, shan't I? You and me, ain't nobody saved here. But when that cold beer comes to my mind, I say, thank you, God. Amen, amen. I thank God that I've got enough God. Which I was. Just like Jesus ended up with the Father and the mother at the same time. But every time, it'll never work. Now, we sometimes, men, don't like to try and keep ground once with the women this morning, because sometimes we want to talk about Adam and Eve, and we want to talk about how the woman made the man do this. Now, listen, now, nobody makes you do nothing, amen? Don't put the blame on your parents. Don't put the blame on your children. Don't put the blame on God. If they fell away by your own flesh and blood, if I was led by Adam and Eve, or taken from them together, amen. It wasn't her fault, amen. We had a way to escape. We didn't have to take somebody that after, amen. How about they put a shovel up into my mouth and I don't like, amen. I'm gonna turn away from them, amen. You know what I'm trying to say, amen. We don't blame one another. And by the way, if you're gonna blame anybody, don't even blame the devil, because the devil will follow. It's your own fault. Amen. Through Jesus. Jesus could have found that out. Good word. Yeah. Yeah. It says right here, verse one, chapter four, it says, then was Jesus led up, that he was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to meet him. Huh? Up in there. He know why he was gonna face that garden. When he got done facing, says the nation, when he took those 40 days, those 40 nights, he went in there to equip himself with something, amen. He went in there with the Spirit of God, amen. He went to go through that, amen. But he had somebody on his side, and that was his father, amen. He thought about how he was gonna face that next day. Listen, you're gonna face every day of life as long as you got prayer. You're gonna face the world out there and it's up to what you do. But that temptation, after that comes your way, you can say, bye, turn it up, or you can jump on the boat with it. You have that little choice. Sure. It doesn't matter. We all are human here. We're all tempted, we're all trying every day. Huh? It's how you live your life, how you pray, how you seek from God. The Bible says, seek those things above and out of this world. If you're seeking after God, you're gonna have the strength to turn. From the world, I say, you're not where you need to be. You're not praying, and you're not holding on to the promises of God. As soon as the boogie man says, come on, you're gonna jump on the wagon with the boogie man, amen. But when you're coming to church, like you're supposed to, when you read the word like you're supposed to, just like Jesus done, he went on fire. And listen, when you push that plate back, and when you push the plate back, there's still, you can still pass, amen. You can still pray, amen. And life can come about the way you want to do it. I'm not telling you you've got enough strength, sister, to go 40 days without eating, man. But if you've got Jesus, you've got enough strength to overcome anything. Amen? I love me. I'm stuck up in the spirit of God. He knows that the devil was coming. Huh? I'm not calling nobody stupid in here. I don't want to make everybody feel a little bit of common sense, don't you? Huh? You know when the flames are coming up against you? You know when the devil's trying to get you out of the will of God? Huh? You know when the English storm of this party darts at you? Huh? Listen, Charlie, huh? You know, huh? That the enemy already told you, huh? Just as soon as they say it, huh? You've got cancer, huh? The enemy's gonna dance in some of you, huh? That don't belong to the enemy, huh? That belongs to God, amen. And listen, the devil will tell you, huh? That, oh, God, you're not worthy, huh? For coming to the house of God, huh? Listen, the devil will tell you, huh? That God ain't real, huh? My sister, Sharon, huh? They can't deliver you, huh? From the flames of the world, huh? That's his job, huh? But listen, huh? Thank God that he was good. Yes, amen. I'm not saying that Jesus went out here, huh? Doesn't know what I've done. Like I've done, I'm not saying that. But it was infinite in the same way. He didn't fall down, did he? Huh? No, he did, he did preach it, yeah. Preachers fall, amen. Yeah, yeah, I can get out of here in the world and that's for today, amen. That's what's happening in my life. You heard me? The whole world's gonna fall down on me now. And listen, it wasn't taking one short bang. The devil knows what I used to like. It wasn't taking one short bang. He'll throw a cold beer at me and I can open it up. But listen, I hope and pray that I've got enough God to say no, huh? But I'm not saying that I wouldn't, huh? I'm not saying that I would, huh? But I'm saying that I've got God and I hope and pray that I can hold on long enough to say no again, huh? I'm not saying that you are not gonna fail through devil's hands, you. We all fail. We all fall into temptations. Listen, it's just like a kid. You know how a kid is, amen? And I love kids and I'm not saying nothing about kids. Your kids, my kids, when they're little, they'll aggravate you, turn you back if they did what they want, won't they? Now, you give in, won't you? Amen? And that's the way the devil does it, huh? Devil start aggravating you, huh? Devil start poking at you, huh? Devil start pulling at you, huh? Amen, huh? And the next thing you know, you get right here, huh? Huh? But Jesus did, amen. Jesus did, huh? I was telling somebody the other day we were talking down there at the guitar shop, so man, I don't remember who it was but we were talking about the temptations and the things. Listen, it's like this. You're not gonna catch me up here on 25W, which there used to be a bar on there that everybody ever saw, it was there. You do good, you can find one now, it's there, amen? That's the truth, amen? It was there and I know where one ends up, huh? And I think that's the only one there, huh? Journey down there, you know. You guys been there every day, huh? And listen, I can't go up there and sit up there with my friends, huh? I can't go up there because I've got a friend up there. I can't sit there all day with him, huh? I can't talk to him, huh? You know why? Because the temptations would start, huh? That alcohol would start looking better for him every day, huh? Same thing that I'm living now. And you know what would happen? I'd all lay by my own words. Amen, amen. Because when I used to try to quit drinking, bless my life, it just didn't fit. As time goes on, maybe till the next month we'll be married 43 years, been together 44. I bet I've lied to that woman over millions of times that I was gonna quit drinking, amen? That's not no lie, Barbara. I used to try on my own, I'd drink and quit drinking and I could go into a place and my sister, if they just had it in the middle of my mouth I would start watering, huh? And you know why? I had to have to get me one of them by every man, huh? Because I gave them God, huh? The hell, huh? I was trying it on my own, huh? That's what's wrong today, huh? You're not gonna break that ugly car, huh? Without God on your side, huh? You're gonna have to stay, huh? Oh God, you know it. Huh? Huh? It's when we fall out of the wheel but not let God in the last. I'm not telling you to be a good Christian because you're not a good Christian. I told you a story about a friend of hers who went to church with him. They stood up and told us the whole church had been going on longer than I have. He said, I still have to smoke my pot, amen. He said, I smoke my pot every week, amen. A sister, amen. And that's why he stood up and told us. You remember that Bill Floyd? Amen, huh? Right up there, huh? That big house of church with God, the boy had been going on longer than I have, huh? But he had that story in his mind, amen, huh? It wasn't for me to judge him. It wasn't for me to stone him, amen, huh? The devil's between him and God. You worked your own salvation out if the Bible said we're here in prison, amen. That's what's wrong today. I can't clean you up, you can't clean me up, amen. My wife couldn't clean me up. She tried time after time. Other people tried time after time. But it takes the power of the voice of God, amen, huh? The world's gonna change in a great way. You know why? The devil's job is to come after you and keep coming after you. He's not gonna let up, amen. It's just like if you get moonlighted today outside going down the road, I've been there too, amen, huh? You don't fall over, amen, huh? You keep going, huh? They're gonna keep following you, amen, huh? And Bill, they stalk you, amen, huh? That's the way it is, huh? That's the way the devil is, huh? He knows every trick in the world, huh? He knows everything to do to torment you, amen. Have you ever had a person, I'm saying this with love, that's got fun on their nerves, a human being, huh? Well, we're humans, we all have it. If we'll be honest, that's all I have in the house. God, there's more, huh? Oh, I'm stressed, oh, it's all coming. I gotta go, you know what I'm saying? Get out of there, amen, amen. I've got a cousin, bless her heart, amen. If she's a sinner girl, amen, if she needs God, she's been in this church right here many times and she's got works for here lately, and amen. Now, she come out the warehouse not too long ago and brought out a sister, a jelly. Note that I didn't want her back there, that it gets on my nerves, amen, huh? And jelly got her at the front door and towards the left. I'll see if she's mad and tired, I'll do this, I'll do that, amen. Now, she wasn't mad to come back there, of course she knows where it's at now. But where she was, I like her. She's my cousin, she don't know it real bad, I care for her, but she gets on my nerves, amen, huh? Do you know where I'm going? Maybe I can get her somewhere, I don't know. That's the way the devil works. He gets on your nerves. Most of the time people want to come to get on your nerves, they'll pull every nerve that you got just to get to you, to get what they want. That's the way the devil works in your life. He tries you, he tries all of you, everybody. Amen, tried all of you, nobody's been up on that mountain, just like I said, he knows you're alive. God, he knows that Jesus has been up there, had nothing to eat before he came, and he knows the easiest way I can get to him, I know he's hungry, I'm going to get him a little ring. Boy, you must have been in the hayfield back then when I first started preaching. Yeah, yeah, boy, you must have been on that tractor with me and the devil, amen, huh, huh? He said, boy, it's hot out here, ain't it? When they told me it tastes just as good as that, huh? Nobody there would have told us, huh? You're out here all by yourself. No, I had Jesus with me, thank God. Amen, I had him, and he said, you don't need that. I'll give you something to drink. Now, hell no, he'll feed you, he'll give you a drink, amen, that's the spirit of him. Yes, praise the Lord. Ain't nothing like that, Jesus. He'll fix you up with the devil. He don't let us, he don't let us. I don't care who you are, he knows everything about your life, he knows Jesus was hungry, he knows Jesus is being on fire. You know what he was doing? The devil was sitting there, he wasn't sitting there with his big sword, he wasn't sitting there with no thorns coming out, he was sitting there just waiting on him to come down out of that mountain, just bickering and laughing, saying, oh, we've been eating the ghosts from every hill, I'm fixing to tear him up, I'm fixing to pull him down, I'm fixing to show him that I got more power than his father, that's what he was trying to do, he's trying to trick me, he's trying to deceive me, the same way he does to church, the same way he does to us every day, every day. True, I would say that he had a great long way to get to town, but we're getting so close to it, Christians have fallen away from temptation for the world. And you know what, I'd be wired if I should say what you throw at people, he might be the next one out of the wheelhouse. Yeah. Huh? True. You're never above attacking the enemy. No. The Bible says we have a way out, the Bible says we can put him under our feet, the Bible says we can thread over serpents, amen, the Bible says all these things, but you know what? The Bible also talks about those little wolves, the foxes, now they've come to steal, they've been a little, there's a little thing that he'll put in your mind, that he'll keep on your back until you get him, oh, we just thank him. We thank that we have more power than he does, we better be careful, we thank Mr. Holy and Holy, we know a lot of people that still on the wayside, amen. Look who I am, look who you are in Christ Jesus, not who you are, because he can tear your flesh apart. The Bible says to fear the one who can destroy both body and soul, and that's God, don't fear what the devil can do to your flesh, amen, because he's coming after you, it's not going back to him, amen, it's going back to the dust of the earth, amen. And he had flashed 40 days and 40 nights and he was actually, actually wasn't hungry, and when the temperature came to him, and that was the devil, went back, the devil don't come if you're beaten on you with a bat, he comes if you're telling him how good those things are out there, amen. I remember getting high, I remember starting that cocaine, yeah, it was good, well preach it to your son and say that, why do you want to lie about it, you know that fear was good too, amen, that fear out there in the Bible says there's a pleasure in it, amen, not for a short season, it is good, yes, there's a pleasure in the world for a short season, and when your season gets up, that's when you, have you ever just got sick in your stomach or something, it's fine, that's when you get sick in your stomach, you know, God, I always thought beer smelled good, it tastes good, but now since I don't drink it, or I smell it on somebody, it kind of stinks, kind of smells like that, it's useless, amen. When the temperature comes, he said, if, he said one more word, if, if, and you know what the devil tells you, if God is real, if your God is real, and that's why he was telling the guys, if you be the son of God, if God can do this, if God can do that, you know the first thing he said, brother Charlie, when you get sick and body, John, he tells you, where's your God at, if God has so much power, why does he need you, if God was this and God was that, why are you sick, if God was this and God was that, why are you sick? Amen. God has power over all of us, and he gives us great resource, and I would say that once we come in command and die, we start dying every day of our life, I don't know how I'm gonna die, if you don't know how you're gonna die, Charlie, I've got cancer, you've got it now, my wife's got it, and that's the way she's gotta go, it's okay with me, let's go Charlie, because you're not getting out of there, and the devil will take that, he'll take everything, like I'm saying, he'll take that charity, he'll use it, and he'll try to get to them, and he'll say, well, why is God allowing that to happen, why is God allowing your son to get out of here strung out, why is God allowing these boys to work for you, amen, I would have them over the coast, right down there in my building, I could show you on my phone, here in the last couple of weeks, amen, the one on the right there was so hot, he couldn't even stand up, but that's between him and God, God's still in control, I'm not the judge, amen, nor are you, and I'm not the jury, but God is. If there was a real God, why is all this happening, why does a little child get killed, born with cancer, diseases, if there's a God that's real, why does God allow this, the devil takes so many things and tries to turn it around his arm, he'll try to win the world, he'll use your family, he'll try to win the world, he'll use everything he can against you, just like he did Jesus here, and Jesus knew he was gonna get killed, and Jesus knew he was gonna be tried, and Jesus knew when he was left, hallelujah, the point of heaven, that he was gonna die, but he kept on the right track, he died for you and I, he was kicking for you and I, he was doing all for you and I, amen, now to the son of God, a man of these stones, we're gonna pray, all they was trying to do was hear him, he was just tripping, and God put a stone in his boot, why he could've looked at that stone and turned it into bread, a man ain't gonna live if he wanted to, amen, they'd slap it and make him go with it, amen, if he was hungry enough, amen, he could take the worst, hallelujah, and he could make the best out of it, I suppose the worst has never been, for God's sake do something with it, amen, I look at Paul, amen, I look at Peter, amen, I look at every one of them in the word of God, they were sinners, amen, just like you and I were, they were no better, amen, I swear it was murderers, amen, God, amen, that's what God can do for you, that's what God does for me, amen, we have doubts, but we know that the devil is real, I was telling somebody on the phone, sitting right out here in this parking lot this morning, I hate to leave this law school, I think you doubt that God is real, the devil tells you that your God ain't real, and you know I'm telling everyone that he's the truth, God heals, that little if, if God can do this, if God can do that, you know what, if God could, God's gonna do what God's book says, amen, he's gonna destroy this world, amen, he's gonna bring it to a pass, you and I, we're gonna get a new glorified body, there'll be no more sin, there'll be no more pain, he says in the book of Revelation, he'll wash all those sins away, all that sin, and he'll cut the holes down, amen, we need to look towards God, if he is real, if you need to show up in front of God, just get your little friend like that, huh, huh, he doesn't heal people, do you, huh, and he said, that he actually said in his great mention about the whip, I read along, that not every word that was said was out of the mouth of God, amen, God is real as your body's real, God is your breath and your life and your first breath, he said, I'm the beginning and I am the end, he said, his son died and he'll be convicted in Christ, and go through the same thing we went through, so when you get on that big party, and you think you're the only one that's been through that, you better look up, talk to heaven and say, thank you Jesus, I know you've got to prove yourself, amen, huh, we know the world is in trouble, Kermit, I said to you, man it was here two weeks ago, the devil was out on a little overdose of heroin, the world has these things now, the devil's throwing it right at them, it wasn't that enough to make you get a hold of heroin, now they're putting shit on it to kill it, the devil's destroying it, we'll carry God when I'm standing out in the heavens, huh, by your free choice, because the Bible teaches me that God is God, that he created the heavens and the earth, he created everything here, and then he keeps the faith down, and the faith in him, and we'll live this way, this is his program, and he's going to give them all an angel, just like he did you, huh, and I used to cuss, I was in the church, but you, huh, we've got all angels sitting in here, amen, and I drank all the good drunk, huh, and I slept like a hell, and I thought son, when I was old, you know what, I didn't do no bad, I just don't mind cocaine, I had plenty of it, worked in the painting board, the salesman, what, you know what, tell you when I was a thief, I was a good thief, I'd steal everything he had, anywhere, you know all that, I was just a sinner, I was just a sinner, I wasn't drunk, I wasn't drunk at all, I wasn't a big guy, I was a sinner, a sinner, people want to place points on my list, see his ass, I ain't, Jesus loved me enough to kill me, yeah, huh, you know what the devil tells you, just like he tells me, once in a while he'll tell you, that God will never bring back to you the memories of those things that you were prone to see in the business, huh, so you know who you, what's going on when the devil has tormented you, and he's punished you, he's talking about a dead man, he's talking about a dead man, he's talking about you, you mean, huh, can I still see you, huh, can you do this, at least you think about it, you can do it, you know that, praise you, I'd be lying to you right here in this church, that's my program, I'm preaching my faith to this church, I'm teaching it five days a day, I'm teaching it to all the children in this church, God is with me all the way, he said he'd make a way for me to escape it, you know why, brother Gary, sometimes I don't want to escape it, I want him to take me, huh, yeah, I've got to entertain you sometimes, right, if I didn't, you know where I'd be, I'd be in heaven, I'd be in hell, huh, you're going to have those problems, no matter how much of God you've got, no matter how close you are to God, you're going to stumble and you're going to fall, people come to me and talk about me, hey man, if you talk about not having to go back, 28 days, 30 day program, I have to go back to my beginning, two years ago, a lot more than 28 days, a lot more than 30 days, after you reach out to God and walk with him, huh, then he starts to wish me all that old nasty stuff, you know, big deal, he said, you know, you're a son of a gun, I tell you, if you ever change in the world, I already went right back to it, like the Bible said, you know, I went right back to my mommy, I went back to my dad, I went back to him, you know what I mean, you know what, next time that situation comes, I'll deal with it, I'll deal with it, I'll deal with it, I'll deal with it, I'll deal with it, I'll deal with it, I'll deal with it, I'll deal with it, I'll deal with it, I'll deal with it, I'll deal with it, I'll deal with it, I'll deal with it, I'll deal with it, I'll deal with it, no matter how much you pray, no matter how much you go to church, no matter how good you think that you can do, you're still gonna go, but just don't stay in there, get back to rehab, get back to rehab, okay, Jesus is my rehab, amen, when I was 38 year old, I snorted three ounces of cocaine per week, every now and then, per week, I would drink two, four cases of beer per day, per day, but when I say you will do, the end of the battle is around the corner, amen, so I don't want to destroy you, but it is in Ezekiel chapter 28, I'll get you through it, verse 14, where they are the anointed share of that covenant, and I have said to you, that was the holy man of God, that was, had walked with me down in the midst of the stones of fire, that was perfect in your ways, from the day you were created, until the day that he was found in you, and he tells what I have seen, and he tells, and he tells me what's gonna happen, I will bring forth a fire from the midst of you, Lucifer, and it shall devour you and bring you to ash, amen, and it shall devour you and bring you to ash, everywhere, amen, and therefore he has a hand, and he shall, and he shall, and he shall bring forth, and he shall bring forth, you can't repent, you can't, you can't, you can't, he could, he would, but he could not, and I say Jesus is going to save us if we will please, that's all it takes, but you know, I didn't have to go to the first rehab, I didn't have to go to the first AA, there's nothing wrong with you, that's how you have to proceed in your life, I'm saying nothing bad about that, some people are weak, and some people are strong, but we got, I hope we should go, and God save you at that time, have I had a desire to go back, but flesh desires it more than you, and he does too, does that mean I'm going back, if I can keep running, I'm not going back, but I don't, I don't, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't have any back to it, maybe I don't really know, but you know, as we get in age, you know, minds get a little bad, you don't know, you don't want to know, what's going to happen to you, amen, I know a lot of good things, a lot of good, my brothers and sisters in Christ, couldn't, couldn't, borrow things that happened to them, in their walk with God, and they went back to it, I'm not saying nothing bad about it, I was just afraid for it, amen, but you don't never know, what's coming your way, but I believe if you hold on to God, you'll make it through it, that's how I feel, I feel like, there are times, sometimes, I'm sure there's other times, that I don't feel like this, but there are times, that I feel like this, for all of you, for all of you, you better be thankful, that this man called Jesus, didn't go to hell, because he would be in the devil's pit, he'd have had no way back, if the devil could have got over on him, through all this temptation, I'm not going to be here yesterday, I'm going to be here this morning, 20 years, he would fail that day, and that's what the devil, was trying to get him to do, we would be here today, we would be here, but never on the church stage, with Jesus Christ, there's still been an old tradition, and an old way, and still been having to take a sacrifice up, but he made a way, we didn't have to do that, he made a way, that we could remind him of his suffering, no matter what we do, no matter what the devil tells you, that little word is, amen, that you can still have the peace, and the joy in your life, but it's up to you,
