It's the noise of the curtain being opened, a squeak from the curtain rings sliding along the rod, followed by a gentle swish as the fabric or plastic curtain is pulled to one side. The open state of the curtain leaves an echoing silence, suggesting a wide, open space, perhaps an empty bathroom waiting to be filled.
