Let's welcome our teacher Daniel Rendleman as he helps us find the Emet. When we go throughout life we have ups and downs and mountains and valleys and battles. You've heard on the TV there's stories of wars and rumors of wars. All the time we know about the Iraq war in Afghanistan and what all is taking place throughout the world. Worldwide war on terror, at least we're told against such. And yet we also go through things in our lives and battles in our own lives where it feels like we're always under attack. Life can be hard and it feels like every day there's another battlefront. One week it may be the home, one week it may be the school, one week it may be the ministry, one week it's your spouse, one day it's your neighbor, the next day it's someone else. And many times we get so involved in the battle we forget that we have a general who's commanding us and helping us. Many times we're like that foot soldier on the ground and many times even doing hand-to-hand combat, we're fighting away, we're doing our part and we forget that there's a general who's given us instructions and directions and inspiration. And if there's a general then there's also what? There's also an enemy and a real enemy. And we think many times that our enemy is what we're facing, the battle that we're facing in that moment. We think that our enemy is the public. We think that it's our family as we're hurt emotionally, spiritually, physically. As we are hurt we think maybe it's our co-workers or we fight against error through teaching. We think it's them. You think it's your boss, you think it's your family, you think it's this or that. It may look like them, it may smell like them but it's not really them. You know, I mean we fight against the Catholics, we fight against the church, we fight against other messianics, we fight against Islam. Who's left to fight against really? Because you know as we seek the truth many times it's like it pits us against them. When in reality it's not just a physical battle. I don't know about you but the person who hurt me last I didn't throw a grenade at them in retaliation or to even start the fight, to pick the fight. I didn't pick up a machine gun or send out some F-16 fighter jets. Because the truth is there is a war going on behind our actions. There are powers and principalities. Agree? Ephesians chapter 6. For we war not against flesh and blood. So think about the person or the system that you've maybe been battling. Maybe it's even the word cancer. Maybe it's a family member, whoever. And understand this, you are not against flesh and blood. Even if it's your own body that's flesh and blood. But we war against who? Powers and principalities and authorities. Where are they? In this world's darkness. So I want you to see as we talk today that our enemy is in the dark. Our enemy is in the darkness. And the enemy, his aim is to get us to doubt Yahweh. His aim is to deceive us. To bring about hurt or fear, pain, rudeness, lack of respect, division. To get us discouraged or down. To make us feel worthless. To be burdened, to be helpless. The root cause for all of this is not the person that we can blame. Not the person that we can see. The root cause for all of it is spiritual. So everybody say this. Everybody say it's spiritual. It's spiritual. Now we are told by scientists that for every action in the world there is an opposite and equal reaction. Do you believe that? You know the Bible tells us that do not do not think this is strange. Whatsoever a man reaps, he shall sow. So for every action there's an opposite and equal reaction. So for every spiritual blessing that you have received, the enemy seeks to curse you. He seeks to rob from you. Measure for measure. The closer you are to the truth, the more he's going to make an affront against you and against me. And let's be honest, he does a pretty good job. He's been at it for a long time. And he does it all through the power that he has. And I believe that our enemy is limited in power. And the power that he has is this power. It's the power of deception. The power of deception. Now we're smart enough to know that he's not going to come to us like at Halloween with the pitchfork and pointy tail. We're smart enough that we're not going to be led to kill people. Cold-blooded murder. So it comes at us in other ways. It comes at us as an angel of light. And let me tell you how bright his light is. The Word tells us that he has blinded the eyes of people. We are blinded by his light. He is so bright in his darkness. He's deceived the laws. He's deceived the church. He's deceived the Catholics. He's deceived the Messianics. He's deceived the agnostics. He's deceived us. Everyone. The whole world. The God of this world has blinded their eyes is what the Bible says. One way that he's deceived the Messianic movement, this movement that we are in, is that it has been taught that it's not really important. That the adversary is defeated and dormant. When in reality, here's what he is. He's smart, he's disciplined, and he's organized. He's called the God of this world, the Prince of the Power of the Air. And here's what he does. He uses our weaknesses against us. He uses our senses against us. He uses others to hurt us. He uses demonic oppression to stop us. The Bible says, Yochanan 10.10, John 10.10, that the thief comes but to steal, kill, and destroy. Now I don't know about you, but I read the book How to Win Friends and Influence People. There's nothing in there about stealing or killing or destroying. But this dude's got a lot of friends. He comes to steal, kill, and destroy our abundant life. He comes to steal, kill, and destroy our health, our finances, our ministry, our family, our children, our grandchildren, our sanity, our last nerve. You know when you tell somebody, you're getting on my last nerve, that's the enemy just using you. Or using them to get on your last nerve. You ever wonder where that last nerve is located? I don't know. But people know how to get on it, don't they? Now speaking of war, speaking of war, many people look harshly at President Bush about the situation in Iraq. Cut on the TV at night and there's someone always criticizing, oh we need a withdrawal plan, we need this, we need that, shouldn't have done it, you know, there weren't any weapons of mass destruction, whatever. People criticize him, look harshly upon him, however, the same is true for us. In many instances, and many times for our spiritual life and our battle against the enemy, we don't have much of a battle plan. We wake up every day, we brush our teeth, we take a shower, we get dressed, we go off to work, we go to Babylon, you know, for a couple hours, or for you who work third shift, you do this at night. You go off, you do what you have to do, you try to live a good life, you come home, you have dinner, play for kids, play on the internet, watch a movie, watch some TV, read a little bit of the Torah, the Word, go to bed, and do what? Repeat the next day, and then repeat the next day. There's very little thought in many of our lives about the battle that's going on all around us, and then we wonder why are we so defeated many times when we don't have a battle plan. So, I've got a couple questions. Number one, do you want defeat or victory? I want victory. Now the question is, if you want victory, how bad do you want it? And what are you willing to do to get it? Here's the good news. It doesn't take... It doesn't take crucifixes, or holy water, or certain rights to learn to defeat the enemy. It takes one thing, and I'll spell it to you in Hebrew. It's spelled this way, alas, mem, tav. It takes emet, which is truth. It takes emet. It takes truth, and you shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free. Isn't that what the Word says? We try to confuse it. We try to make it all this other stuff, when the truth is... The truth! You shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free. The truth is, our adversary, the accuser of the brethren, has limited power. He is defeated, but he's very cunning. And the truth is that you and I have been given power over him, and his plans, and his wiles, and his schemes. He has no power over us unless we give it to him. That's the truth. We just get so busy with work, with life in general, with fighting the good fight, with running the race, with pressing on, that we forget that. Matityahu, Matthew 28, 18, it says, And Yeshua came and spoke to them, saying, All power is given to me in the Hashemayim and the earth, in the heavens and in the earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples, Talmudim, of all nations, mixing them in my name, teaching them to guard all the things which I have commanded you. And I am with you always, even to the end of the world. He says, All the power is given to me, and I give it to you. Not just to the apostles, not just to the original disciples, but to us. And there's a certain way to walk in that power. And this battle pits us against the darkness. Now, what's the only way to fight darkness? You have a dark room? What do you need to do? Turn on the light. Turn on the light. Even my 19-month-old son can flip on a light switch. And yet we, many times spiritual babies, forget to cut on the light. We'll stumble through our way throughout our day and forget sometimes to cut on the light. When darkness falls against us, our light needs to be on. Because it is only the light that exposes the darkness. It is only the light that shines forth. Yeshua's light in us. He said, I'm the light of the world. And He said what? You are the light of the world. He said, let your good deeds shine before men, Matthew 5, 16, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Let your light shine before men. We are to know the light and walk in the light. And the Bible actually says this about light. It says to put on the garment of light. Robe yourself in light. Clothe yourself in light. Now you know as well as I do that it's pretty much impossible. You know, you've got a light bulb. What are you going to do? Go have a fitting done in fluorescent clothing so that you can shine really bright? I know what it is. We're going to get a glow-in-the-dark dress. Is that what He meant? No, of course not. We know better. Here's what it says, Romans chapter 13. Turn with me to Romans 13, Romiah 13, verses 12 through 13. It's one of those Hebrew idioms. Romans 13. It says, the night is far spent, the day is at hand. Let us therefore cast off the beads of darkness and put on the garment, the talit, of light. Romans 13, verse 12. That the day is near. The day of what? The day of Yeshua's return. The yom Yahweh is near. And it's time to put away the beads of darkness. It's time to start expelling the darkness. It's time to start cutting on the light switch greater and fuller and more and more and more. It's time to be a flame for Yahweh. And look at verse 13. It says, Let us have an honest walk as in the day, not in wild parties or in drunkenness, not in living together before marriage or indecencies, not in fighting or envying. Verse 14. But put on Yeshua, Hamashiach, and make not any provision for the flesh to fulfill the lust thereof. The night is coming to an end. Here's the good news for you. The battles that you've been facing are coming to an end to a close. But the day is near. However, because of that, we have to cast off the beads of darkness. And we have to not only cast off those beads, but get a new wardrobe. This is fashion emergency now. Okay? Somebody call 9-1-1 and let's get a new wardrobe today because we've been having a fashion emergency where we've been clothed in darkness, whether we've realized it or not. Let's look at a few things it says here. It says, Have an honest walk. Honesty. Then it says here, Not in wild parties or being drunk or in living together before marriage or indecencies or fighting or envying. Do you know what the Word tells us in the book of James chapter 3 verse 16? It says, Where there is envy and strife, there is confusion and every evil work. If you've got strife in your day, in your life, in your family, in your ministry, if you've got envy, if people are envious of you or you're calling upon Yahweh's life or your gifts or your talents, guess what? There is every evil work that's present. That's Yaakov 3.16. So what do we have to do? We've got to get rid of the strife. We've got to take the steps necessary to get rid of the stress and the strife in us. If that means that we walk out in the light a little more and say goodbye to our friends of darkness, if that means there are people who are doing things that are not in the light, we may have to say, I'm sorry. We can't associate with you anymore. Or that means we don't watch that TV show or play that game or do this or do that. Cut on the light switch. Flip on the light. Clothe yourself in the talit of light. Now the talit there, the word in the Restoration Scriptures, it says talit. King James says garment of light. Think of a talit. It's a covering, it's a four-cornered garment that you can put tzitzit on. And we're told here to put on the talit of light, to clothe ourself in His goodness. So today we're going to look at exactly how do we do that. So turn with me to Ephesians chapter 6. Ephesians chapter 6. Because we know that we were not against flesh and blood, amen, we wore against the darkness. And it tells us in Ephesians 6 verse 10, it says, be strong in Yahweh and in the power of His might. It says to put on the whole armor of Yahweh that you may be able to stand against the strategies of the accuser. Because we wore not, we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against authorities, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. So who is our war against? Is it against the person we see? Is it against the words that they say? Or is it against the Shadim or the darkness behind them? Now yes, that person is responsible for doing and saying and acting that way. However, it is the darkness that they exude. Our actions do one or two things. Our actions either produce light or they put out light by allowing darkness to occur. Everything we do is a choice in that manner. You see someone at work doing something dishonest, if you turn the other, you know, just turn aside and don't say anything or don't do anything about that, then what are you doing? You're allowing that darkness to continue. If you expose it, if you expose it, what are you doing? You're exposing the light. You're shining your flashlight of immense, of truth, and the truth will set you free. It tells us here to put on the full armor of Yahweh to fight against the darkness. So we're going to look at the full armor of Yahweh through some new eyes, some renewed eyes. You're going to get some LASIK surgery right now to have some new 2020 spiritual vision. How about that? Amen? 2020, you're going to be able to see straight and clear because the Word tells us in Romans chapter 12, verses 1 and 2, it says, I urge you brothers, by the mercies of Yahweh, do not be conformed to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Have our mind renewed a little bit to this armor of Yahweh because the Word tells us not only is it an armor of Yahweh, it is an armor of light. We are told in Romans chapter 13 to put on the armor of light. That is the armor of Yahweh. They are one in the same and guess what else? The armor of light is Yahweh. It is His armor. When it says to put on the armor of Yahweh, it's kind of like David who was brought in and he had to put on the armor of the king. Remember how it didn't fit him though? Well, guess what? Yahweh's armor fits us. It's expandable. How about that? How about that, Dawn? It's one size fits all. It's expandable or it shrinks if it needs to because the Word tells us that the commandment is a lamp unto my feet. The Torah is a light unto my path, right? So the light is the commandment. It is the word of Yahweh. We'll talk more about that some more in just a minute. We've been told that the armor of God, Paul was in prison, he was writing this letter and he was looking at a Roman soldier describing that Roman soldier's garments, what he wore, how he acted and that's why he wrote about the armor of God. That's what I was told. Show of hands, pretty much everybody. That's how we've been told. That may be true. That may also not be true. I believe it's not true because here we have Saul, not Paul. We have a Pharisee, a rabbi, a Torah teacher. Let me tell you something. He knew much more about the Bible and about the Torah and about the priestly garments than he did a soldier's battle gear. Wouldn't that make sense? Yet this is part of Hafez Khan's deception against us because if he can make us think this, if he can make us think that Yahweh's armor looks like a Roman soldier, then what else does he make us think? That we need to be clothed like a Roman soldier. It's separation. If a Roman or Greek soldier is our example, get this, if a Roman or Greek soldier is our example, then that tells us that the Roman's actions of persecution against the Jews and against the truth of the Bible is also our example. It's called replacement theology. It's called anti-semitism and it comes at us even by the way that the armor of Yahweh is taught because if we're taught that it's a Roman soldier's armor, then that makes us pity the Roman soldier a little bit, be a little more comfortable with them. When in reality, what we're going to see here is that the armor of Yahweh has nothing to do with the Roman soldier but has everything to do with the high priest and his garments that he wore. So let me just ask you, would Yahweh rather you be like a high priest or like a Roman soldier? High priest, I mean, I'm not very smart but I can figure that one out. That's what he wants. The word is very clear. It tells us in Shemot chapter 19 or Exodus 19 that we are a royal priesthood, a holy nation of peculiar people. Now we identify with the peculiar part pretty well. I'll just have to say that. But we don't always identify with the royal priesthood part. Many times we see ourselves as that soldier, that foot soldier out with our garments on and we're fighting the devil. Oh yeah, we're fighting him. We're fighting the world. We're fighting whoever comes against us. We're like that soldier and we think that's what Yahweh wants from us. Let me tell you, he doesn't want that from you. Instead of fighting like a soldier, he wants you to be worshiping like a priest. He wants you to be sacrificing like a priest. He wants you and I to be walking out our priestly calling. We are a royal priesthood. So everybody say this. Say, I'm a priest. I'm a priest. Now you don't have to wear a collar, pray Yahweh. However, priests are to be clothed in priestly garments to put on Yeshua Hamashiach. Because why? He is our high priest. His armor is an armor of light. It tells us in Psalm 119 that thy word is a lamp unto my feet, a light unto my path. In Proverbs 6.23 it says the commandment is a lamp. The Torah is a light. So if we're going to put on the armor of light, what are we putting on in essence? We're putting on the commandments. We're putting on his Torah. We're putting on his word. So for the next few minutes we're going to examine each piece of the armor of the high priest and understand that this is you. It's talking about us. That the armor of Yahweh is a priestly armor and it tells us, again it tells us in the word in 1 Peter 2.9 it says, you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a set-apart nation, a peculiar people, that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Do you see that? The only time you can effectively walk out of darkness into his marvelous light is when you are reminding yourself and you are walking in his calling upon your life as a royal priesthood. You're a priest and he's called us to walk out in his light. And the way we do that and one of the ways we do that is to get dressed as the priest would get dressed. The point of this message is real simple. We could close with this statement. So write this down. The only effective way to do spiritual warfare, the only effective way to live the abundant life, the only effective way to do spiritual warfare or to live abundant life is to recognize your identity and to walk in it. The only effective way to do spiritual warfare and live the abundant life is to recognize your identity.
