The person had a bad experience with the bus service as there was no notification that the route was down. They had to walk a mile on icy sidewalks to catch the next bus. The bus stops were not shoveled and the person had a previous injury from slipping on ice. They missed a bus and had to walk even further. The sidewalks were not all clear. The person's knee hurts and they believe that if people were fined for not shoveling their sidewalks, it would generate money to fix the roads. Volunteer organizations are available to help those who cannot shovel. We're recording. Okay. So, tell me about what happened on the bus today. Well, there was no kind of notification anywhere that the service route was down. So, after waiting for the bus for about 10 minutes, after it was supposed to come by, I called and they told me it was down. So, then I had to walk a mile on icy sidewalks to catch the next bus that I could get. What kind of... Is it like through a neighborhood that you're walking on? Yeah. So, none of the houses in that neighborhood were shoveling their sidewalks? No. It was the Copper King Extended Stay Suites. So, the Copper King is technically responsible for it. Interesting. What were the bus stops like? Were those shoveled? No. And it's all ice now? Pretty much, yeah. And what was your experience before with walking on ice? I try to avoid it as much as possible, which is why I like to catch a service route, which usually goes right by the intersection where I live. What happened to you five years ago when you were on the ice? I was actually on my way to catch the Harrison Avenue, because arts and crafts started before the service route would have got me there. And my leg just slid out from underneath me, and my knee was hurting every now and then, but it just steadily has been getting worse, and I finally start physical therapy tomorrow. So, it was probably scary walking on the ice today, because you didn't want to hurt it again? Yeah. And then, because of when I actually found out the service route wasn't running, and I had to go down to catch the Harrison Avenue, I missed the tech bus, so I had to catch the Harrison that turned into the Walkerville, and so I had to get off at Broadway and walk all the way here from there. And what were the sidewalks like on that part of the walk? Some of them were clear, some of them were not. Do you have anything else to add? My knee hurts. Shovel your sidewalks, is that the theme of it? Pretty much, yeah. I've heard people say that there's not enough money to fix the roads. Well, if people were getting citations for not shoveling the sidewalks in front of their homes and or businesses, that would actually generate enough money to fix the roads, and people would actually get the picture, and they would start cleaning them. Exactly. I know there are volunteer organizations who will clean those for people who are not physically able to, so I really don't think there is an excuse. There isn't, you're right.
