I wrote this sax quartet for the 12º Edition of Prémio Nacional de Composição Século XXI, where it won the 1º prize. This piece is built on a passage from one of my favourite operas, Alban Berg’s Wozzeck. This piece’s title, Woyzeck, comes from Georg Büchner’s play, from wich Berg based his opera on.
