By the time Frankenstein is finished speaking with the monster, he goes back to see that Justine Moritz, his friend, is taking the fall for William's murder, because William had a picture of her in a locket next to his body. He cannot watch. Eventually, he finds the robot, and the robot asks Frankenstein to give him the data on how he was created so he can make an army of robots for himself to jiggle the world. Frankenstein is terrified to say no, because he knows the robot will crush him, but he also never wants to see it again, so he says yes.
Frankenstein and his best friend Henry Cliff will travel back to a factory in England so they can research and try to find the data to recreate another. Frankenstein begins working on it, and near its completion, he realizes it would endanger the entire world, and not just him, so he destroys it. Furious, the robot watches, and he vows with him, warning Frankenstein that he will be with him on his wedding night. After destroying the data, Victor shows away.
He washes ashore in Ireland and is accused of murder. The victim was his best friend, Henry Clerval, who the robot killed in revenge. Victor was devastated. Later, Victor marries his childhood friend, trying to reclaim some joy that he had lost. Remembering the robot's warning, Victor prepares to fight the robot, and does not realize the robot's true plan. He looks everywhere for it, because he knows the robot is there, but he cannot find it. While he is distracted, the robot kills Elizabeth, and then Victor is once again devastated.
