Hello and welcome to a typical day in my life as a Tantric Massage Therapist. With this video, I'd like to invite you into my world to show you my daily routine and how I prioritize things to truly support my mental health and physical well-being, which is so important on this journey. Before I dive into it, I'd like to make something clear. What I am about to share with you is the result of years of hard work, learning from experience, and always striving to be a better person and practitioner. This work enables me to live a life I'm deeply grateful for. I didn't start my journey with this mindset and level of discipline, which is still a work in progress for me, by the way. I'm sharing my experiences and everything that works for me because I wish someone had guided me when I started working as a Tantric Massage Practitioner and set up my own business. It would have probably saved me much of the learning process and made me feel less alone in figuring things out. But I'm blessed to have had the support of good friends, partners, accountability partners, and wonderful people I met along the way. I'd also like to add that everything I'm sharing here is what I know from experience that works for me and has gotten me to where I am today. However, you may find your own beautiful and authentic way that works best for you over time, and that is perfectly fine and part of your own journey. I like to wake up at 6.30 in the morning to a nice song from Spotify that I set as my alarm. It can be a real struggle for me to get out of bed because I often experience heightened anxiety first thing in the morning. But lying in bed or scrolling on my phone would make me feel worse, so I force myself to get up and start my morning routine, which makes a significant difference. I place my phone further away from my bed so I can't reach it, which forces me to get up. If I left it next to my bed, I would just press the snooze button and go back to sleep. Before leaving my bedroom, I make my bed to ground myself into a fresh start and then go downstairs to get ready for the day. I find a nice podcast or some positive affirmations to listen to while getting ready, like the one linked below by Louise Hay. These positive affirmations help me maintain a good mood and reinforce a positive outlook for the day ahead. I start my day by drinking a glass of warm filtered water infused with the zest of half a lemon. This simple yet beneficial step rehydrates my body and provides essential vitamin C. I then prepare my breakfast, usually consisting of scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, cheese and avocado, followed by a bowl of fruit and my dietary supplements. I often realize I'm running late because I'm slow in the mornings, so I remind myself to hurry up. After breakfast, I wash my face using a gentle cleanser, brush my teeth and apply moisturizing products containing vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and SPF 30 to keep my skin hydrated, youthful and protected. I then get dressed, putting on clothes I prepared the night before. I grab my yoga mat and step out by no later than 7.10 a.m. Walking to the yoga studio allows me to soak up some morning sunshine and fresh air, lifting my mood. Yoga starts at 7.30 a.m. and lasts for one hour. Yoga is essential for my self-care, providing strength, flexibility, balance, peace and answers within the silence. It teaches me about commitment, showing up and doing the work, finding balance and stillness within chaos. I highly recommend incorporating yoga into your daily routine. After yoga, I walk to a cafe next to my gym and enjoy a cappuccino while journaling and confirming my appointments for the day. Around 9.45 a.m., I step into the gym for a strength workout. Morning workouts have transformed my life for the better physically and mentally. I prioritize these activities to prevent skipping them later in the day. I avoid checking my phone to stay focused and listen to a podcast or audiobook while working out. Post-workout, I relax in the sauna at the gym, which is one of my favorite times of the day. I connect with my breath and cover my skin in warm oils. Alternating the hot sauna with cold showers is refreshing and beneficial for the skin. Around 11.30 a.m., I walk back home, prepare a protein shake and head to my temple space for my first massage session of the day. I spend about an hour preparing the space. Between 1.30 p.m. and 5.00-5.30 p.m., I complete two massage sessions with a one-hour break for lunch. After finishing, I tidy the tantra temple space and head home to prepare dinner. When I arrive, I prepare some dinner for myself. I'd like to say that I take my time here to really focus on my food and enjoy the process of eating, but the truth is that at this time of the day, I rarely do this. Instead, I usually watch a YouTube video and I eat my dinner accompanied by my cats. Once I'm done with my dinner, I try to make sure that I leave my kitchen nice and clean before enjoying the rest of the evening, so I wash the dishes and leave the sink empty. This step makes my mornings much more enjoyable and free of stress. Every few days, I cook a bigger batch of food that I keep in the fridge and that just needs reheating so that I can save myself some time. Cooking is not something that I particularly enjoy, so I'm trying to limit my time in the kitchen whilst making sure that I am eating healthy and prepare my own food, which is a good way to keep my expenses low and to make sure that I eat quality meals that I know exactly the ingredients of. In the evening, I catch up with friends, study, or sometimes watch a series. I'm really enjoying Bridgerton at the moment. Sometimes I end up scrolling on my phone and waste time, a habit I'm actively working to change. Picking up the phone can easily become addictive and disconnect us from our experiences, a habit I'm consciously trying to break. Around 10 p.m., I start winding down with my evening skincare routine, meditation like yoga nidra, filling in my gratitude journal, or reading until about 10, 30, 11 p.m. I try to avoid social media or electronics after 10 p.m. to give my mind a chance to switch off, but I don't always manage to stick to this. Things like using my phone or starting unplanned activities can disrupt my routine. Without a plan or structure, my mind becomes chaotic and easily distracted. Unexpected events can also disrupt schedules, and that's okay. For example, talking to a friend going through a breakup is more important than washing dishes. Having room for a healthy level of flexibility when life so requires is good and necessary, but being as consistent as possible with your routines will make you stay focused and organized and will prepare you to better handle unexpected situations. I was raised in a disorganized family where there were expectations of performing, but little or no support, guidance, and discipline. As a child, I didn't have routines to give structure to my day. I was left to look after myself, feed myself, and do my homework, among other responsibilities. I felt I was always behind. I was late for school, my homework wasn't finished, and a lot of guilt came with this. I am now trying to change these patterns and create more structure in my life. Structure and routines make me feel like my homework was done and I am well prepared. They give me a sense of accomplishment and peace. I noticed that I was trying to do too much, so I had to sit down and decide what my priorities are, what I need right now at this time in my life, and how I can look after my own needs. So here's what's important to me at this moment in life. A healthy diet. This is one low in sugar and processed foods and high in protein and healthy fats. I follow the keto diet, which seems to work well for me. Daily exercise, which is a combination of strength training, yoga, and walking. A way of connecting to my body, which can be through dance, self-pleasure, self-massage, or a breathing exercise. Healthy, nurturing relationships with my friends. Enjoying my work and continuing to learn and develop as a tantra massage therapist. Spending time in nature, either walking in the park or looking after my garden. And most importantly, finding fun and laughter whenever I can. As a self-employed individual, it is extremely important to stay disciplined, and having an accountability partner has helped me when I was slipping off my routines.
