Today on AKTalks, we discussed the playoff picture for each NBA team in the Eastern Conference. The Pistons are the worst team and have no chance of making the playoffs. The Wizards and Hornets are also struggling. The Raptors and Hawks have a chance to make it to the play-in tournament. The Bulls and Nets are doing well and could make the playoffs. The Pacers, Knicks, Cavaliers, Magic, Heat, and 76ers are currently in playoff positions. The Bucks are the second seed and have added Damian Lillard to their roster. Hello everyone, welcome to AKTalks. Today we are going to be talking about the playoff picture for each NBA team. We're going to start with the worst team in the Eastern Conference, which is the Pistons. The Pistons have not won a game since October since the NBA. They are 2-28 and they have no chance in making it to the playoffs. I'd be surprised if they got to the 10 seed. They are probably trying to do bad this year just to make it so that they can get a better pick next year in the NBA draft and so on. Next is the Washington Wizards. With their NBA team, they have some pretty decent players. Their players are like Jordan Poole, Kyle Kuzma, Nilo Gallinari, Daniel Gafford, Jared Butler, Patrick Baldwin Jr., Tyus Jones, Danny Avigia, Anthony Gill, DeLong Wright, Landry Shannott, Michael Sculla, Ryan Rollins, and a bunch of players. They have a pretty good team, but they are pretty bad this year and they are 5-25 with Jordan Poole and I think the Warriors made the right decision to train Jordan Poole and some other players in the Warriors for Chris Paul that got signed by the Wizards. Next, this is the Eastern Conference by the way, next is the Hornets. The Hornets are 7-21 and they have players like Romello Ball, Miles Bridges, Cody Martin, Terry Rozier, Britton Miller, Gordon Hayward, Mark Williams, TJ Washington Jr., Dish Smith, James McKnight, Nick Richards, Blakey Black from North Carolina, Bryce McGowans, Nick Richards, and more. This year they're not doing the best and again they are 7-21 and I don't think the Wizards or the Hornets or Pistons will make it into the playoffs. Next is the Toronto Raptors. They are 12 and 18 so far and they have players like Scotty Barnes, Pascal Siakam, Dennis Schroeder, Oji Anunobi, Gary Trent Jr., Jacob Poldal, Otto Porter Jr., Chris Achua, Chris Boucher, Malachi Flynn, Marquise Noel, Thaddeus Young, Garrett Temple, Jalen McDaniels, John K. Porter, and more. They might have a chance. They are the 12 seed. They could make it to the 10 in the play-in and I don't know if they can but they might be able to. They did get rid of Fred VanVleet and gave them and gave Fred to the Rockets and I'm going to talk about the Rockets in a little bit but they are doing pretty good this year, the Raptors, because they have Siakam or Pascal Siakam. They have Oji Anunobi who's pretty good and they have Scotty Barnes and they have a bunch of good players that can definitely do it. They can definitely make it to the play-in. I don't know. Next is the Atlanta Hawks. They're also 12 and 18 and they have players like Trey Young, DeJounte Murray, Bogdan Vakdanovic, Clint Capella, Jalen Johnson, DeAndre Hunter, Shadiq Bae, Onyeka Okonwu, Patty Mills, Kobe Bupkin, Wesley Matthews, AJ Griffin, Garrison Matthews, Bruno Fernando, Seth Lundy, Trent Forrest, and Muhammad Gure. I can't say that word but they have the 11th seed and they are doing pretty good. They can definitely make it past the Bulls toward the 10th seed which I'm about to talk about any moment now. The Hawks do have a chance and in my opinion I like Trey Young but he is not as good as he has been. As for Trey Young, this year he is averaging 28 points per game which is pretty good. He actually in his career from 2018 to 2023 has averaged 25 points so he is not doing his best he has this year and neither is his team but his team is the 11th seed so they do have a chance in making it. Next is the Chicago Bulls. They are 14 and 18. They are pretty good this year. They are the 10th seed. Their players are Zach Levine, DeMar DeRozan, Kobe White, Lonzo Ball, which Lonzo Ball is probably not playing that well this year because he has been hurt every day it feels like, Nicola Vucevich, Alex Caruso, Patrick Williams, Ayo Dasumu, Andre Drummond, Javon Carter, Torrey Craig, Julian Phillips. They also have Dale and Terry, Terry Taylor, and Henry Drill. They have a pretty young team except Zach Levine and some others. They are doing pretty well this year. Next is the Brooklyn Nets. They are the 9th seed this year. They are 15 and 16 and they have players this year since they got rid of a bunch of their stars in the past two years which are Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and James Harden. They have gotten rid of all those players and now they have some pretty good players this year. This year they have Cam Thomas, Mikael Bridges, Ben Simmons, Cameron Johnson, Nicholas Claxton, Spencer Didwitty, Lonnie Walker IV, Dorian Finney-Smith, Dennis Smith Jr., Aaron Sharp, Jalen Wilson, Royce O'Neal, Armani Brooks, Harry Giles III, Derek Whitehead from Duke, Trenton Watford, Noah Clowney, and Keon Johnson. They have all those players and they are doing pretty well this year. They are the 9th seed and I think they will do well this year. They might be able to make it into the playoffs if they can get past the Pacers. We're next. The Indiana Pacers are 15 and 14. They have great players this year. They have a really good couple-year player. His name is Tyrese Halliburton and they have some others and I'm about to name them. So there's Tyrese Halliburton, Miles Turner, Opie Toppin, Buddy Heald, Bruce Brown Jr., Benedict Matheran, Jalen Smith, Aaron Neesmith, Jairus Walker, Andrew Nembhard, Oscar, I can't say his last name but you might know him, TJ McConnell, Isaiah Wong, Isaiah Jackson, Ben Shepard, Jordan Yoa, Kendall Brown, and James Johnson. Next, so I think the Pacers will definitely make it into the playoffs. I don't know, they might lose to the Nets or the Bulls or any other team at the bottom that can come up by the end of the year. Today, the date is Thursday, December 28th. We are not even in 2024 yet and they still have many more months in games to play before they can make it so there's any chance. The seventh seed in the East is the New York Knicks. They are 17 and 13. They have players, of course, and their names are Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, RJ Barrett, Dante DiVincenzo, Emmanuel Quigley, Mitchell Robinson, Josh Hart, Isaiah Hartenstein, Quinton Grimes, Evan Fournier, Jacob Toppin, which is Opie Toppin's brother, Jericho Sims, Miles McBride, Charlie Brown Jr. That's so funny, Charlie Brown. Make sure to follow me if you love Charlie Brown. Todd Gibson and some more players that I cannot pronounce and they're probably young rookies. Next, and they will definitely make it into the playoffs this year, next is the Cleveland Cavaliers. They are 18 and 13. They do have a chance on making it. Their players are Donovan Mitchell, Max Struess, Darius Garland, Amoni Bates, Tristan Thompson, Craig Porter Jr., Jarrett Allen, Evan Mobley, Georges Niang, Dean Wade, Karis LaVert, Isaac Okoro, Ricky Rubio, Ty Jerome, Damian Jones, Isaiah Mobley, and Sam Merrill. They have a chance on making it to the playoffs this year. They will, I'd say, 75% make it into the playoffs this year. Next is surprisingly the Orlando Magic. They're the five seed. They're 18 and 12. Last year, I don't even know if you want to hear this, but last year, they were the 13th seed. And this year, they're all of a sudden the fifth seed. Has anything happened in their roster change? Let's find out. Their players are Paolo Banchera. He's actually, he's been in the league for two years. Last year, he wasn't doing as well, of course, because they're the 13th seed, but this year, I don't know who's been added to the roster, but I'm going to check it out. They have Franz Wagner, Anthony Black, Cole Anthony, Jalen Suggs, Moritz Wagner, Marco Foltz, Jonathan Ijek, Wendell Carter Jr., Joe Ingles, Goga Benazze, Gary Harris, Jett Howard, Shuma Okiki, Kayla Hoopstead, Kevon Harris, and some other players. They haven't had one, they've had probably two roster changes and some rookies that have come in. They don't have any other things that are different except maybe Joe Ingles and Goga Benazze. So, they are all of a sudden better this year. It must just be Paolo Banchera. Next is the fourth seed. It is the Miami Heat. They're 18 and 12. They definitely have a chance of making it in the playoffs because they're the fourth seed. They actually play today at 10 o'clock against the Warriors. Their players are Jimmy Butler, Tyler Hero, Bam Adebayo, Nikola Jovic, Duncan Robinson, Kyle Lowry, Caleb Martin, Kevin Love, RJ Hampton, Josh Richardson. They also have Thomas Bryant, Cole Swider, Haywood Highsmith, Jamal Kane, Orlando Robinson, and Drew Smith. They have a big chance of making it in the playoffs this year. They're 100% going to be in there because they are the fourth seed, and I don't see why not they would be in there. Next is the Philadelphia 76ers. They this year are 21 and 9, which is really good. Their players are Joel Embiid, Tyreex Maxey, Kelly Oubre Jr., which he used to be on the Hornets, and he was one of my favorite players, Tobias Harris, Mo Bamba, Patrick Beverley, D'Anthony Melton, Nicholas Petun, Marcus Morris Jr., Kenyon Martin Jr., Paul Reed, Robert Covington, Furkan Kortmaz, Jaden Springer, Jaquay Vian Smith, Daniel House Jr., Ricky Council IV, and Kenneth Lofton Jr. I'm pretty sure Kenneth Lofton Jr. was on the Grizzlies, and now looks like he's on the Sixers. The second seed is the Milwaukee Bucs. They have had a big change since they just added Damian Lillard to their roster in the beginning of the season. They have really great players this year, and they're 100% making it in the playoffs. They actually played the Magic a couple of games ago, and the Knicks and all of them another couple games ago. Their players are Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, Chris Middleton, Burke Lopez, Malik Beasley, Margin Beochamp, that's not his last name, I just made that up, Bobby Portis Jr., Andre Jackson Jr., Robin Lopez, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Cameron Payne, Jay Crowder, Pat Connaughton, A.J. Green, Ty Ty Washington Jr., Chris Livingston, who's from Kentucky, Marquis Bolden, and Lindell Williamson, who's on the Iowa Wolves. So, they are also very, very good. They were the second seed, and they are really good. The Celtics are the one seed. They are 23-6 so far this year, and they are somehow 14-0 at home. They are the best team in the league right now. They have the most wins and the least amount of losses, and they are amazing this year. Their roster contains of Jason Tatum, Christophe Porzingis, Drew Holliday, Jalen Brown, Derek White, Peyton Pritchard, Al Horford, Jordan Walsh, Sam Houser. They also have O.J. Prezette, Lamar Stephens, Luke Cornett, Drew Peterson, and some more players. They are the best team in the league, and now we're going to move on to the Western Conference. The Western Conference, we're going to start with the worst team, which is the San Antonio Spurs. They are 4-25, and they are not doing that well this season. Even with Victor Wimbinyana, they are not that great this year, so I'm going to check. They won a game December 15th, and that's the last time they've won a game. Today they play the Portland Trail Blazers, and tomorrow they play the Portland Trail Blazers. Victor Wimbinyana is questionable for today and tomorrow because of an ankle injury, but he will probably do very well anyway. Anyways, now the San Antonio Spurs roster, Victor Wimbinyana, Victor Wimbinyana, Jeremy Sokin, Devin Vazel, Keldon Johnson, Zach Collins, Keddie Osmond, Trey Jones, Julian, I can't say that last name, Doug McDermott, Devontae Graham, Malachi Branham, Charles Bassie, Blake Wesley, Siddy, I'm not going to say that one, but yeah, he's a player, Charles, Betty, why are these names so hard, and I have David Duke, and some others that I could not pronounce. They are not that good this season, but next year they are probably going to do way better because this is Wimbinyana's rookie season. Next is the Portland Trail Blazers. They are 8-21. They play today, of course, against the Spurs, and tomorrow against the Spurs. They've been playing against the Kings, Warriors, Wizards, Suns, and more. Their players are Scoot Henderson, DeAndre Ayton, Anthony Simons, Shaden Sharp, Malcolm Brogdon, Jeremy Grant, Robert Williams Jr., Chris Murray, Batiste Theibel, Javari Walker, Moses Brown, Skyler Mays, Ishwort Wingright, Justin Menea, and Aibu Bajie. I don't know if I said those words right, but most of them I did. They, I don't think they have a chance in making it into the playoffs this year, along with the Spurs, but you never know. There are still plenty of games left in the season for them to catch up. The Memphis Grizzlies are next. They are the 13th seed in the West. They are 10-19, and their roster is John Morant, Derek Rose, Marcus Smart, Desmond Bain, Jaron Jackson Jr., Steven Adams, Zyre Williams, Ismak Biamba, and Jalen Smith. Ismak Biamba, Shanti Aldana, Jacob Gilliard, Luke Kennard, Brandon Clark, he's out for a little bit, Xavier Tillman, Gigi Jackson II, David Roddy, Vince Williams Jr., Jake LaRiva, Shaquille Harrison, and John Conchart. They might have a chance since John Morant just came back from his half a year suspension because of that thing. There will be a podcast on that too. They might have a chance because John just came back, like I said, but they are 10-19, and they can win games, and they can get in to go up into the seeds. Next is the Utah Jazz. They are 13-18, so a little bit better than the Grizzlies, and their roster consists of Lori Markinette, Jordan Clarkson, John Collins, Colin Sexton, Walker Kessler, Kelly Olenek, Chris Dunn, Taylan Horton-Tucker, Simone, there's hard words in this, Omer Ubertson, Josh Christopher, Taylor Hendricks, Luca Samenek, Johnny Juzang, and Micah Potter. They have some pretty good players this year. They might be able to make it up, but I don't know because right in front of them are the Warriors, Suns, and Lakers, so I don't know if they're going to be able to make it, but they do have a little chance. Next is the 11th seed, the Golden State Warriors. They are 15-15. They are my favorite team. They've been winning some games lately, except on Christmas Day, they lost to the Nuggets. They beat the Blazers, Wizards, Celtics, Blazers again, and the Nets all in a row without Jermon Green, since Jermon Green has a long suspension for punching Jerseth Nurkidge in the face. That's kind of funny to say, but their roster is, I'm sure you already know, a bunch of these players if you are a Warriors fan like me, but I'm going to tell you them. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Jermon Green, Chris Paul, Brennan Ponczkiewski, he's the rookie, and he's really good this year. Jonathan Kaminga, Andrew Wiggins, Dario Saric, Kevon Mooney, Yusman Guriba, Gary Payton II, Dewey Santos, Moses Moody, Corey Joseph, Jerome Robinson, Trace Jackson Davis, oh he's actually really good this year, and Lester Quintos. And they definitely have a chance and they can definitely make it into the plan or higher. But next is the Phoenix Suns. They are also 15-15, and they have Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, Jerseth Nurkidge, who is fine now, thank the Lord, thank the Lord, Grayson Allen, Eric Gordon, Udo Wannabe, Bull Bull, Drew Eubanks, Gordon Goodwin, Yuduka Asbuki, Josh Okogi, Zir Lil, Shunfenzi Menuh, Damien Lee, Sabin Lee, Katia Betis-Diop, and Theo Maledon. They definitely have a chance and I hope they do make it because Kevin Durant is one of my favorite players along with Devin Booker. Next is the Los Angeles Lakers, which they are 16-15 this year. They're doing pretty good. They have been winning lately a little bit. They have also been losing. So they have really good players. Today they played the Hornets at 10 30 p.m. and I'm going to tell you all their players. They have LeBron James, Anthony Davis, D'Angelo Russell, Rory Hashimura, Cam Reddish, Jared Vanderbilt, Torian Prince, Christian Wood, Gabe Vincent, Austin Reeves, Max Christy, Jackson Hayes, Colin Castellan, Maxwell Lewis, Des Moines Hodge, Alex Butch. So they definitely have a chance to get in there. And next is the Houston Rockets. Again, last year they weren't that good. Last year they were actually the 14th seed. They were not good last year, but they ended up doing really well this year because of their roster. They had rookies last year that were really good and not rookies but players. Now I'm going to tell you the players. They did add Fred VanVleet. That's probably why they're doing better this season. But their players are Alperin Sangoon, Jalen Green, Dylan Brooks, Fred VanVleet, Jabari Smith Jr., Eamon Thompson, Ubon Arjanovic, Kim Whitmore, Jeff Green, Victor Oladipo, Tara Eason, Aaron Holliday, Jock Landale, Reggie Bullock Jr., Ja'Shawn Tate, Nate Williams, and Nate Hinton. They are going to do really well this year and I think they will make it into the playoffs. Next is the New Orleans Pelicans. They're 17-14. They're doing well this season. They've been winning and they do have good players. So here they are. Zion Williamson, Brendan Ingram, Jonas Valachunas, CJ McCollum, Herbert Jones, Jordan Hawkins, Trey Murphy III, Jose Alvarado, Matt Ryan, Dyson Daniels, Cody Zeller, Larry Nance Jr., Najee Marshall, Kara Luz Jr., E.J. Little, and Jamerrill Robinson-Earl. They also have one more that I cannot pronounce and maybe even more that are coming in soon. They have a chance of making it this year since they are the 17th and they are probably going to do really good this year. Next are the Dallas Mavericks. They have been winning this year. They play today against the Minnesota Timberwolves and they play on Saturday against the Warriors at 830. Make sure to check out every NBA game that I'm saying because they are good NBA games. So the Mavericks have Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irvin, Grant Williams, Derrick Lovely II, Seth Curry is back, Tim Hardaway Jr., Derrick Jones Jr., Dante Exum, Dwight Powell, Jaden Hardy, Josh Green, Sean Holmes, Maxie Kloebler, Markeith Morris, Dexter Dennis, A.J. Lawson, and Gridbaum III. They are going to do well this year since they are 18-13 in the 6C and the Pelicans could beat them along with all the teams at the bottom, but we will see later in the season. Next are the Sacramento Kings. They are 17-12 and they are doing well this year and their players are De'Aaron Fox, De'Montis Sabonis, Keegan Murray, Malik Monk, Kevin Herter, Harrison Barnes, JaVale McGee, Davion Mitchell, Chris Forte, Trey Lyles, Alex Glenn, Colby Jones, Keon Ellis, Kessler Edwards, Jaden Slauson, John Descano-Anderson, and Jordan Ford. They are pretty good this year and they will do good this year. Now, next is the Los Angeles Clippers. They are 18-12, so just better than the Kings. They are 18-12 and their players are James Harden, who just went there if you didn't know that, Kawhi Leonard, Russell Westbrook, Paul George, Evika Zubak, Terrence Mann, Nashawn Hyland, Norman Powell, T.J. Tucker, Daniel Tice, Kobe Brown, Mason Plumlee, Joshua Primo, Brandon Boston Jr., Amir Coffey, Jordan Miller, and Xavier Moon. They are all good players and they are going to do good this year. Next is the Denver Nuggets. This year they are 22-10 so far. And they have been winning a lot of games. They were on a five-game winning streak before they lost to the Thunder by one point on December 16th. And after that, they are winning and losing. So, they are doing well this year. They are going to go in the playoffs and their players are Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr., Aaron Gordon, Christian Brown, Contavious Codwell Pope, Richie Jackson, Justin Holliday, Julian Strother, DeAndre Jordan, Peyton Watson, Collin Gillespie, Hunter Tyson, Zeke Nagy, Galen Pickett, Blatko Kankar, Jay Huff, and Braxton Keene. They are pretty good players and a pretty good team and they will do well this season. And will definitely make it in the playoffs because they are the three seed. Next are very surprisingly the Oklahoma City Thunder. Last year they were the 10 seed. This year they are the two seed and they are 20-9. And let's go over their players. Their players are Shea Gildas Alexander, Josh Giddey, Chet Holmgren. Finally playing this season. They were probably doing worse last year. Chet Holmgren was a rookie last year, but he did not get to play because he broke his leg in the summer league. So, this is technically his rookie season because he did not play one game in the real NBA last year. Jaylen Williams, another Jaylen Williams, Louis Dort, they also have Poku, I call him. They also have Kayson Wallace, Aaron Wiggins, Isaiah Joe, Davis Bertans, Trey Mann, Usman Dang, Oliver Starr, Kendrick Williams, Lindy Waters Jr., no, Lindy Waters III, and many other players that are actually really good. Now finally, the Minnesota Timberwolves are the one seed and they are actually doing well. What? Because of who? You think? They have the exact same roster as last year. They do not get anyone different except maybe two other people. They have been doing good and they are the one seed and let's go over their players. Anthony Edwards, Carl Anthony Towns, Rudy Gobert, Jayden McDaniels, Mike Conley Jr., well, I call him Mike Conley and most players do, Nas Reed, Kyle Anderson, Luca Garza, Shaq Milton, Nikhil Alexander Walker, Leonard Miller, Troy Brown Jr., Jaylen Clark, Dasha Nix, Jordan McLaughlin, Josh Minot, and Wendell Moore Jr. They're the one seed and they are 1 million percent gonna stay there. Well, maybe not stay there, but they will be in the top five all year. They will 100% be in the playoffs this year and they should do really well. And those, that is my playoff picture and how they're gonna do. The Warriors, I don't know if they, if I said it, but they do now have Chris Paul. So, that's amazing that they have Chris Paul. I'm rooting for the Warriors. If y'all want to make a podcast, y'all make a podcast about the NBA or whatever you want. The NBA or whatever you want. It's easy. And yeah, that's them. That's my playoff picture this year. Yeah, that's it. Make sure to follow me. Tell others to follow me and I'll see you next time. Peace.
