Jesus has given us a picture of what is coming but we will not know the hour of the day. All the more reason to stay ready. Using the fig tree as an example Jesus reminds us that there will be signs but we don't see the whole picture so we must "stay awake" and be ready. We will learn more about this in Mark 14.
