This is a song that was crafted to celebrate the 1981 novel 'Mission' by Patrick Tilley. 'Mission' describes the appearance of a man in 20th century New York who is not quite what he seems, a puzzle that has to be worked out by a Manhattan lawyer and his on and off girlfrend, a doctor. This framework is the basis of a description of some of the early Gnostic thoughts on the universe and of Christ, ideas rejected and crushed by the orthodox Christian church.
