The speaker created vocabulary lesson plans and activities to address challenging vocabulary in relation to the play Hamlet. The first idea involves students writing down words from a word bank in their vocabulary notebook along with their definitions and parts of speech. They then copy sentences containing those words from the play, noting the page numbers. The second idea is for students to write a short story or poem using the vocabulary they learned. I came up with some vocabulary lesson plans and activities to help with the common core standards that I felt was challenging that addressed vocabulary. My idea was one, students would be provided a word bank for the play Hamlet. They will write the words down in their vocabulary notebook with the definition and parts of speech. And then while reading, they will copy down the sentences that have the words from the word bank with the page number. Number two, students will then write a short story or poem using the vocabulary presented above.
