Ayurveda Siddha regards the human body as composed of five elements: earth, water, fire, air, and sky (Akash). Each element is associated with different aspects of our body, such as bones and flesh for earth, blood for water, body temperature for fire, respiration for air, and our life force for sky (Akash). In Tamil, the life force is referred to as Uyir. In Ayurveda Siddha the human body is considered to be made up of Pancha Bhutas. We all know the Pancha Bhutas are earth, water, fire, air and the Akash, the sky. And our earth is related to bones and flesh. Water as our blood and fire is our body temperature and air is our respiration and Akash, the sky is considered as our life force. Life force is nothing but our life itself. In Tamil we call it Uyir.
