More than 2/3 of children experience at least one traumatic event by age 16, including violence, neglect, assault, loss of a loved one, natural disasters, terrorism, or domestic violence. More than two-thirds of children reported at least one traumatic event by the age of 16. And some of these traumatic events include community or school violence, neglect, physical or sexual assault, sudden or violent loss of a loved one, natural disaster or terrorism, or witnessing and experiencing domestic violence.
