Now here's your host, Dr. Faye. This month we're diving into another hot topic, navigating change with faith. We talked about embracing change as a constant in our lives last week and this week I want us to move forward not from that topic but over to another look at that topic through the eyes of overcoming fear of the unknown. In Joshua 1 and 9, God told Joshua to be of good courage. Don't be afraid. I need you to be strong because Moses, my servant, is dead. It's time for you to get ready for leadership. It's time for you to have your mind aligned with my plan for your life because if your mind is not aligned with my plan for your life, you're gonna run when it's time for you to stand. You don't know which way to go when circumstances shift because truly they will because you're about to enter territory that you've never been. You're about to meet some people that you don't you didn't even know you would ever have to face. You were about to have some conversations that you never dreamed that you would have but believe you, believe me, I have prepared you for this moment. How many of you know that there are moments in your life you wonder if you are prepared for them? You wonder if you can stand to stand in the midst of the changes that are going on in your life? As we continue this journey, I want you to share this show with some people that you care about because you know that they're facing fears right now. Overcoming the fear of the unknown is something that we all have had to deal with. You know change is inevitable. I shared this with you before and we've got to learn how change is going to come, how to embrace it as a friend rather than an enemy. What are your fears? What are the things that you're afraid of right now today? Not what you used to be afraid of. I can hear that another time in a testimonial service but for now, what are the things that you're afraid of now? Is it the diagnosis that you just got received? Is it that your marriage is failing? Is it that your children are just not listening? You don't know what's going to happen to them after they leave home. They've graduated and now you don't know what's going to happen to your home because now you're feeling a little bit lost. You got to be real with yourself. Tell yourself that it's okay to feel what you feel but it's not okay to live there. Yeah it's okay to have these feelings but it's not okay to live there. So you have to learn how to move from them quickly into a place of blissfulness. Yes there is a land called bliss. A place for freedom. A place where you can laugh again. A place where you can rejoice again because you cannot live in misery and get to where you've been called to go to. So what are your fears? Face them and talk to people that you trust, your pastor, members of your church, members of the women's group that you're a part of, whatever it is and then share with them what you're learning through this experience. Talk to a trusted friend. Do some research on your own and please, please for your sake, do positive self-talk and positive thought thinking. I find out that when you're speaking you're not thinking so when you speak out of your mouth you're overriding any negative thoughts that would try to invade that space between your two ears and things will begin to shift. You have a power source within you. God placed himself right inside of you and inside of you lies all the strength and the courage that you need. Focus in on the aspects of faith, the hope, the purpose without religious biases and what your religious beliefs may be. Just focus in on hope and your purpose for being here. What are your personal values and what are some actionable steps that you can take today to maybe tame that fear and embrace the uncertainty rather than running from it. Use the power within you and begin to break down those large goals into smaller steps. Celebrate your small wins and seek professional help. I know that I am a coach for Kingdom Women professionals and leaders hosting an event at least once a month and sharing almost every day in social media on how you can live a more confident life and be a catalyst for change and make an impact from where you are.
