A dramatic retelling of the escape of Heather Longtreader, as told by S.D. Smith. This bit of 'The Green Ember' is one of my favorite intense escape scenes and the first one that popped into my mind when thinking about the word 'escape'. It's a flight on which hangs great importance - escape for Heather herself as well as the survival of her little brother. As a girl with younger brothers herself (who also, incidentally, loves trees), I relate easily to Heather and her story. Hope you enjoy!
