Sustainability is measured using rating systems that consider people, planet, and profit. The goal is to meet current needs without compromising the future. Assessment tools are used to measure progress, but there is still disagreement on what should be measured. The development and implementation of measurement tools are important for evaluating success. However, there is a need for approaches and models in the assessment process. Measuring sustainability and sustainable rating systems, the balance of people, planet and profit, allow us to measure triple burden lines, as part of ultimate goals of sustainable development and its stakeholders. Sustainability defined as meeting the current needs of the present but affecting those of the future, is normally implemented in the projects of organizations through strategies that meet all accomplished stakeholders' vision and expectations in this regard. Goals and objectives through the expected demands with an effective engagement of stakeholders with progress measured through the use of some form of assessment tool, however, sustainability assessment tool. Determining what should be measured must be decided. This could be crucially answered by understanding the regions, fundamentals and principles of sustainability. Also, we have to measure the set of criteria must be addressed. Measurements can range from objective and quantitative to more subjective or qualitative metrics. This may especially explain the slow evolution of certain areas in sustainability reporting. The stated question becomes more challenging when considering that there is still no agreement among stakeholders on which elements are difficult to adapt as part of the triple burden line. Additionally, conceptual areas such as the origins, fundamentals, principles, criteria and selection and measurement processes are still involving and are going to take demonstrating the increasing stage in which sustainable development currently exists. Although there is no common agreement around some aspects of sustainability, there is certainty in the need for the development and implementation of tools to measure the progress made towards the goal. Sustainability assessment can become instrumental to determine the degree of success for the implementation of macro-level policies, plans and programs at organizational and project levels. However, the assessment process implies the existence of approaches, models and so on. Thank you.
