I wrote this one night during a thunder and lightning storm while my husband and I were camping in Salida, Colorado. We had been fishing the Arkansas River that day. It was late spring, and the storm started just after sunset, keeping me awake all night. I was awe struck when a vision of Mt. Shavano's angel raising his angry fists in protest came to me. I made a sketch of him and wrote this poem.
