(Acts 17:11 KJV)  These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. SCRIPTURES REFERENCED IN LESSON (Mark 16:15 NKJV) And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:16 NKJV) He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. (Acts 2:36 NKJV) "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ." (Acts 2:37 NKJV) Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?" (Acts 2:38 NKJV) Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:39 NKJV) For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call." (Acts 2:41 NKJV) Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. (Acts 2:42 NKJV) And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. (Acts 2:43 NKJV) Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. (Acts 2:44 NKJV) Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, (Acts 2:45 NKJV) and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. (Acts 2:46 NKJV) So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, (Acts 2:47 NKJV) praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. (1 Corinthians 12:13 NKJV) For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. (1 Peter 3:20 NKJV) who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. (1 Peter 3:21 NKJV) There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, (Acts 2:38 NKJV) Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 6:1 NKJV) What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? (Romans 6:2 NKJV) Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? (Romans 6:3 NKJV) Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? (Romans 6:4 NKJV) Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (Colossians 2:12 NKJV) buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. (Galatians 3:27 NKJV) For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. (1 Corinthians 12:13 NKJV) For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. (1 Corinthians 15:1 NKJV) Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, (1 Corinthians 15:2 NKJV) by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:3 NKJV) For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, (1 Corinthians 15:4 NKJV) and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, (Romans 6:17 NKJV) But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. (John 3:5 NKJV) Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. (Titus 3:5 NKJV) not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, (Ephesians 5:25 NKJV) Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, (Ephesians 5:26 NKJV) that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, (Acts 22:16 NKJV) And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.' (Romans 5:9 NKJV) Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. (Revelation 1:5 NKJV) and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, (Matthew 11:28 KJV) Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:29 KJV) Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. (Matthew 11:30 KJV) For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. AI Generated Summary The main ideas from this information are: - Salvation is a free gift from God and must be accepted His way. - The pattern of teaching for salvation includes believing in the gospel, confessing faith in Jesus as Lord, repenting, and being baptized for the remission of sins. - Baptism is essential for salvation and is not just a symbolic act. - Those who obey this pattern of teaching are added to the church or the body of Christ. - Baptism is compared to the saving of Noah and his family through water. Transcription by obeying the incorruptible seed of the Word of God. Now, we spoke about last night the pattern that is revealed to us in the New Testament because Paul stated that when we are saved, we obey a pattern of teaching. And so we started to talk about God's free gift of salvation. And the free gift of salvation, it must be accepted like any other gift. But since God is the one who forgives sins, people can only receive the free gift of forgiveness His way. And so on last night, we went through the scriptures in the New Testament and we've seen how God has clearly shown us how people receive the free gift of His forgiveness. And we studied some scriptures last night and the pattern that emerged that we saw last night, we see how that Jesus taught that one must become like little children, which means humbling ourselves before God, being willing to learn. But then we also saw that we have to listen, and that means we have to listen to the message of Christ about His death, burial, and resurrection. So we have to hear. But we also see in the scriptures that we have to believe, and that is in God and His Son, Jesus Christ. And the scriptures also stated about salvation that one must confess their faith in Jesus as Lord, that is ruler over all. Jesus also taught repentance. This means making a firm decision to turn to God and away from sin. And repentance should continue to be a daily decision, even after becoming a Christian. Next to last, we see that a person has to be baptized in water into the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And when I say in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, this means by God's authority, you are being baptized for the remission of sins. This is what baptism is for. And in order to receive forgiveness in the gift of God's Holy Spirit, which is salvation, this is the gift that the Holy Spirit offers. This is the free gift that you receive when you apply the obedient deeds of faith that is revealed in the New Testament. But we also stated about this pattern of teaching that you have to be faithful to Jesus and His people because our new life and Christ's are turning together. So the pattern that emerged last night that I asked you all to write down and give careful attention to, you will have hear, believe, confess, repent, and be baptized for the remission of sins. And so when you study the book of Acts where you see all the conversion, this is the same pattern that repeats itself all the way throughout the book of Acts. Once you put all the accounts together about conversions in Acts, this is the pattern of teaching that has to be obeyed. But let's notice that basically what that pattern of teaching is teaching you is that when one believes in the gospel, confesses Christ as Lord, repents, and is baptized for the forgiveness of sins, he is saved. Let's read Mark chapter 16 verses 15 and 16. Mark 16 verses 15 and 16. And he said to them, go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned. All right, so Jesus told them to go and preach the gospel not to the Jews only, but to every creature. And he said that he who believes and is baptized shall be saved. Hold on now, let's remember now, there goes the pattern. That's that pattern. That's a part of that pattern. But let's also look at Acts chapter 2 verses 38 and 39. Let's hear you. He replied, each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God and be baptized in the name of Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Okay, so we need more. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Go ahead, I did say 39. Go ahead. This promise is to you and to your children and even to the Gentiles, all who have been called by the Lord our God. All right, so we understand from the Scriptures that the Lord calls everyone by the gospel, okay? And then we see more of the pattern emerge. So we just read Mark chapter 16, which was one of the commission accounts, when Jesus commissioned the apostles. And now we have the first gospel sermon that was preached by the apostle Peter after the ascension of Christ. And after he told these Jews on Pentecost Day that they were guilty of crucifying the Lord and they were in their sins, they asked the apostles, what shall we do? And Peter immediately begins to explain that pattern of teaching to them. He states, repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins. So we see that pattern in this conversion account. We see that pattern emerge. Well, you may say, Charles, well, it didn't say nothing about believing. It didn't say nothing about confessing. Well, that's why you have to go to all the accounts of salvation, okay, and all the teachings that Jesus gave on salvation. And so that's why we're walking through it step by step, okay? So Jesus stated that one believes in the gospel. Hello? Did I interject something? Clearly in verse 37, it says, now when they heard this, they were cut to their heart and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, being a brother, what shall we do? I think that indicates both belief and confession. Yes, sir, you're right, you're right. That's what I stated on last night. So here in verse 38, we see that Peter's explaining about repenting and baptism for the remission of sins. So we understand that you have to repent, but you also have to be baptized for the remission of sins. It ain't say be baptized because your cousin getting baptized. It ain't say you being baptized because you feel like it's the right thing to do. No, you have to understand the pattern of teaching that you are obeying. And when you get baptized, you got to know that you are being baptized for the remission of sins. Now, not all people are baptized for the remission of sins, okay? Okay. So the moment a person that has obeyed this pattern of teaching, he has believed in the gospel, he has confessed Christ as Lord, he repents and is baptized. You have one minute remaining. He repents and is baptized for the forgiveness of sins. For the forgiveness of sins, he is saved, as Jesus stated. And as we see, Peter tells these Jews to do on Pentecost. And the moment he is saved, he is added by Christ to his church. So the Lord does the add to his church, the same as saying to his kingdom. I'm not talking about a local church on 39th Street. No, everyone who obeys this pattern of teaching, the Lord adds them to his church, this collective body of believers who obey this New Testament gospel. So you got people that is in the Lord's kingdom in China, in Russia, in America. Everywhere you have people who obey the New Testament teaching for salvation. So let's look at Acts 2, verses 41 and 47. Thank you for using Global Teleink. Go ahead and do Acts 2, verses 41 and 47. For those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about 3,000 souls. Verse 47. Praising God and having favor with all the people, the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved. Amen. I think Robin usually uses the King James Version. Yes. Instead of saying the number there, it says church, doesn't it? Yes, it does. The Lord added to the church daily. All right. That checks with the original manuscript. I'm not sure why the more modern version, a lot of them don't use the word church. But it has something to do with different manuscripts. Go ahead, Charles. Okay. So we see from Acts 2, verse 41 that those who gladly received the apostle's word were baptized. And the same day there were added unto them about 3,000 souls. They wasn't added to the church of their own desire or church that was established by men and not authorized by Christ. But they was added to the apostle. Okay. But notice that not all people on Pentecost, they received the apostle's word. But those who did, they was baptized because they understood the importance of baptism for the remission of sin. Because Peter had clearly just told them. Okay. And then in verse 47, we see that the Lord added these individuals to the church. But not only them, but he added daily such as was being saved by obeying this pattern of teaching that the apostles taught. Let's also read 1 Corinthians 12, verse 13. Go ahead. For by one spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free, and have been all made to drink into one spirit. So when one obeys the New Testament gospel, no matter who he is or where he is, they're added to this one body, to the body of Christ, this universal kingdom. Okay. I'm not talking about a local church, a building. I don't look at a building and say, look, there's the kingdom of God. No. The kingdom is universal. So now since we kind of got that point across, let's talk about the purpose of baptism and what does baptism accomplish. Because we understand that baptism is very simple, but the meaning of baptism is of vital importance. And once you want to be baptized because baptism leads to salvation. As we read in Mark 16, verses 15 and 16, where Jesus said that he who believes and is baptized shall be saved. But let's also read 1 Peter 3, verses 20 and 21. Tricia. Okay. 1 Peter 3, 20 and 21. Who formerly were disobedient when once the divine long-suffering waited in the days of Noah while the ark was being prepared, in which a crew, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. There is also an antitype which now saves us. Not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Amen. So here the writer, the apostle Peter, he compares our baptism to the days of Noah when Noah and his family and all that was in the ark with Noah were saved by water. The water lifts the ark up above the earth. And Noah and all who was in the ark were separated from those who was perished. So there was an antitype, a shadow of New Testament baptism. Okay. Now, it's not that water that comes out of my foster saves me. No. But water baptism is commanded by Christ. It is in the watery graves of baptism that all sin is washed away. We are raised through the operation of God, through the Spirit. We are baptized into Christ's body. We receive total forgiveness of sins. So the point is that we should want to be baptized because baptism leads to salvation. Apart from baptism, your sins cannot be washed away. But let's also know that baptism leads to forgiveness of sins, like I just stated. And we see that in Acts chapter 2, verse 38, where Peter told them to repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins. But baptism also puts one into Christ and His death. So you cannot come in contact with the death of Christ no other way than in baptism. Let's read Romans chapter 6, verses 1 through 4. Does she hear? Well, then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of His wonderful grace? Of course not. Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ, Jesus, in baptism, we joined Him in His death? For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And Jesus, just as Christ was risen from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. So we see that baptism puts one into Christ and His death. So if I say, well, look, y'all don't got to be baptized. All you got to do is believe. Well, this means that I'm contradicting what the New Testament teaches with salvation, because the New Testament teaches that the only way that you can get into Christ, and that's the same as saying into His kingdom, is by baptism. This is the only way that you can reach the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, too. This is where the blood is that cleanses and washes your sins away. It's in the water and graves of baptism. God is the one who forgives sins, so you can only receive the free gift of salvation His way. Let's also read Colossians 2.12. Colossians 2.12. Amen. So we see here in 2.12 that it states again that the Christians have been buried with Christ in baptism. It's clear and plain to see. You're buried with Christ in baptism. You're not buried with Christ when you believe. You're not buried with Christ when some miraculous feeling came over you. You're not buried with Christ because somebody told you, well, you know you're saved when you speak with tongues. Well, that's not what the New Testament. And it also stated that you are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God who has raised Him from the dead. So all this takes place in the water and graves of baptism. But also in baptism one puts on Christ. And the only way that you can put on Christ is in baptism. Let's read Galatians 3.37. Galatians 3.37. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. 27. 27. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Amen. So it stated that as many of them, these are Christians that Paul was writing. It says for many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Notice that not everyone is in Christ. There's some very religious and sensible people that is not in Christ. Why? Because they haven't obeyed the New Testament pattern of teaching for salvation. And it hurts my heart so bad when I see people that have a strong love for God. But they just cannot see this pattern of teaching. Because they refuse to accept Jesus' way of being right. Amen. So baptism into Christ's body, the church. Let's read 1 Corinthians 12.13. Tricia. Okay. Amen. So we're baptized into one body once again like we read earlier. Now let's understand. Let's make this teaching a little more plain. Let's kind of bring it to life a little more. I'm going to explain it this way. What Christ did to save man is shown by us in being saved. When we obey this pattern of teaching, we're showing exactly what Christ did. For example, Christ died for our sins and was buried in a tomb and was raised up from the dead. Let's read 1 Corinthians 15.1-4. Javier. Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the good news I preach to you. Before you welcome it, then you will still stand firm in it. And by which you are being saved if you hold fast to the word I preach to you, unless you believe in vain. For I deliver to you as of first importance what I also receive, that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scripture. That he was buried and then was raised up on the third day in accordance with the Scripture. All right. So that's basically the gospel. Because remember that we stated that if a person says, what is the gospel? You don't tell them, oh, that's Matthew, Mark, Luke, John. No. You tell them it is the death, the burial, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. That's what is the gospel. And this is what Paul said he delivered to these Christians. That they believed in and obeyed and they were in the same condition and he was exhorting them to continue in it. So they could continue in Christ. So we understand that Christ died for our sins and he was buried in the tomb and he was raised up from the dead. So when we are converted, we obey a form or pattern of teaching as Paul stated in Romans 6.17. Let's read Romans 6.17. Romans 6.17. But thanks be to God, you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient of the heart to the standards of teaching to which you are committed. So Paul said these people were sinners but they are no longer slaves of sin. They are slaves of righteousness. Why? What did they do? They obeyed that form of teaching that Paul delivered unto them. What form of teaching or should I say what pattern of teaching did Paul deliver unto them? Well, hear, believe, confess, repent, and be baptized for the remission of sins. This is that form of teaching that Paul delivered unto them. This is the form of teaching that you see all the way from Jesus to the apostles and disciples of the Lord. What they preached and taught. This is what people obeyed in the New Testament. But just as Jesus made the decision to die for sin, so man decides to die to sin. How does he do that? He repents. Just as Jesus died on the cross and was buried in the tomb, so in the waters of baptism, the repentant person dies to sin and is buried with Christ. Just as Jesus was raised up from the grave, so is the one being baptized raised up from the grave of water. Just as Jesus was raised to die no more, so the one being baptized now rises to live a new life. And this is that newness of life that Paul was exhorting these Christians to walk in in Romans chapter 6 verses 1 through 4 where we read. He told them that newness of life came after that they was buried with Christ. Now they should walk in newness of life. You don't receive newness of life until after you have been buried with Christ in the water of grace of baptism. After you obeyed his parable of teaching. Now another word for new life is birth. Because Jesus told Nicodemus, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and of the Spirit. Let's read John chapter 3 verse 5. Robin. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. So Jesus taught this way before the kingdom arrived. Way before he was even crucified and ascended. And the kingdom was established on Pentecost Day. He wrote this, this was spoken way before this. He was telling Nicodemus about his spiritual kingdom and how people would be born into this spiritual kingdom. That it would take place by spiritual birth in baptism. So you don't receive new life until you are baptized for the forgiveness of sins. You have to obey his parable of teaching or you do not have newness of life. I don't care how religious I am, how much of the Bible I know, how many scriptures I can remember. I cannot be possibly walking in newness of life if I haven't obeyed this parable of teaching. So basically Romans 6 shows us that new life starts at baptism, what Paul was saying. While John chapter 3 verse 5 and also Titus 3 verse 5 links the start of new life. The same as saying new birth with water and washing. Let's read Titus 3 verse 5. Tricia. Okay. Titus 3 verse 5. It says, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. Amen. So even after one obeyed his parable of teaching, you still haven't worked for your salvation. You didn't earn it. Why? Because Jesus did that work. God the Father, God the Son of God, the Holy Spirit accomplished that. They put that work in for to make salvation available to you. So now it's a free gift that you didn't work for and you couldn't earn it. You didn't deserve it. It's by his grace. It's unmerited favor. So even after we obeyed his parable of teaching, we're still unworthy servants. Salvation is a work because you will teach a person this pattern of teaching and they'll say, hold on now Charles. That sounds like works. We save by faith and not by works. Well hold on now. These are works, but these are works of righteousness. Amen. This is saving faith. Obedience to the New Testament. You got to do something. Let's read also Ephesians chapter 5 verse 26. Jesus. Okay. It says. Okay. So we see that John 3, 5 and Titus 3, 5 and also Ephesians 5, 26. It links to new life, the same as saying new birth. It links it with water and washing, which refers to baptism in water. So clearly the new birth involves baptism in water. And also this fact can be seen in Paul's conversion. When Paul, shall we say Saul, met and spoke with Jesus near Damascus, he truly began to believe. And in repentance, Paul fasted and prayed. He saw a vision and was healed of blindness. But yet I want y'all to notice that it was after all these things that the message of God told him, get up. Be baptized and wash your sins away. Calling on his name. Let's read Acts chapter 22 verse 16. Divya. Okay. Acts 22, 16. Thank you for using Global Telelink. And now, why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins. Calling on his name. Thank you. Let's say something about the podcast. You look at the podcast that I've been generating and sending you in the email. And scroll down and see all the verses that Charles has referred to. If you scroll down further, you'll see an AI-generated summary of the lesson, which may have errors in it. It is AI-generated. Also, you scroll down a little further and you'll see a transcript of what Charles, of the lesson. And it will have some errors in it. But you can get the general idea. Go ahead, Charles. All right. So we see that it was after all these things had transpired in Paul's life that the message of God had told him. Get up. Be baptized and wash your sins away. Calling on his name. So when it states calling on his name, that means he'll be baptized for the remission of sins by Jesus' authority. And we see that even though Paul had all this to transpire in his life before he was baptized, he still had sins that needed to be washed away. Even though he had a vision, the Lord spoke with him, blinded him, he prayed, fasted, received his sight again, he still had sins that needed to be washed away. And the only means by which his sins would be washed away is by being baptized for the forgiveness of his sins. So his sins had not been washed away by his beliefs. I want y'all to be clear about this. Paul believed not by his amazing experiences or by his prayers. His sins remained with him until we see that they was washed away at baptism. Well, y'all might say, well, why, Charles? Because it is in baptism that one is placed into the death of Christ where sins are washed away by Christ's blood, as we read over in Romans chapter 6, verses 3 and 4. But let's also read Romans chapter 5, verse 9. We have one more scriptural closeout. Much more than being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. So the only way to be justified, the same as saying, look, the only way to be declared righteous in gospel is by the blood of Christ. If you refuse, if we play mind games with our sins, if we are not sure about our salvation, then we ain't justified before God. I don't want to take the chance of I might be justified or I might not be. I want to know and learn the New Testament scriptures for salvation, and I want to obey that same pattern of teaching so that I can know that I'm justified before God. I have been declared righteous. My sins have been washed away. How do I know that? Because I have humbled myself like a child before God, being willing to learn the New Testament teaching on salvation. I have heard the word of God. I have listened to the gospel message about Christ, his death, his burial, his resurrection, about a risen Messiah who can wash away sins. But I also have confessed that Jesus is Lord. He is ruler of all, and he's ruler of my life. But not only that, I have made the firm decision within myself to repent of my sins and turn to God and bear my cross daily and follow Christ. But not only that, I know that even after doing those things that I still need to be baptized for the remission of sins so that my sins can be washed away, so that I can be added to Christ's kingdom, not to a denomination that's not in the Bible. But we need to look in the Bible and follow the gospel. You've got to follow everything Christ taught down the line through the apostles, and you've got to become a member of the same church. If you can't find your church in the Bible, then you need to be questioning yourself. If you can't find what you did in the Bible when you say you received salvation, if you can't clearly tell yourself that you knew this pattern of teaching when you was baptized or when you believed, if you didn't obey this pattern of teaching, it's time to put your pride to the side tonight and say, I need to be baptized. That's what it's time to do. I need to be added to Christ's kingdom because I've been lost, but now I'm found. I'm ready to receive the grace of God His way. I'm ready to be washed in the blood of Christ because now I know that pattern of teaching. I want to study a little further one-on-one. Whenever I get time, I just need you to work with me, and I just need you to explain it to me a little further one-on-one. Let's also read Revelation chapter 1 verse 5 before we close out. Larry, scripture for the night. Okay, 1 verse 5. So we are washed from our sins. We ain't believed from our sins. We don't receive some miraculous feelings and be washed from our sins. We don't receive a vision. I saw angels. I saw angels climbing a tree. I saw angels run around my house. My preacher prayed over me and told me to say this, and, whew, I just fell out all over the floor. I caught the Holy Ghost. I just knew I was saved. It ain't in the Bible. They told me the same thing in prayer. It ain't in the Bible. Well, they say if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart, you're saved. But, no, did you put the whole teaching together on salvation? Look at every scripture that talks about how to be saved. Because if it was just one scripture, then it would just be one scripture there for us to obey. It wouldn't have put all the other scriptures in there. If we just needed one, this pattern wouldn't be in there, see? But it's plain to see, people, that it's not difficult to see that as Christians did for many centuries, immediately after Christ, that the new birth takes place in baptism for forgiveness. And it's been a wonderful time on with y'all tonight. I'm sorry that I kept y'all a little longer tonight, but this is a very important topic because we don't know when we're going to die. Life ain't promised. Tomorrow's not promised. We don't own tomorrow. We can't say, well, tomorrow I'm going to go fishing. I'm going to do this. I'm going to do that. Well, I know that I will wake up tomorrow. How do I know Christ won't return before this call hangs up? And even though I heard and believed that pattern of teaching and I didn't obey it, I'm still not in Christ, no matter how sickly I was. So tomorrow, we're going to look at when do those who believe get baptized. We're going to see if they say, look, I'll catch you when I come back later. I'll be back down here tomorrow. Well, look, we ain't in the right place right now. We're going to see how and when do people get baptized. That's what we're going to do on tomorrow, Lord's willing. And if anybody on tonight who knows deep down within your heart that you did not understand the teachings on salvation the way that you've been hearing it since you've been on Bible call, then it's time to do the right thing. It's time to do the right thing. Jesus said, come unto me, those who are heavy laden. Now, he wasn't talking about loaded down with bricks or with weights. He was talking about loaded down and weighed down with sin, because sin weighs us down. He said, and I will give you rest. He said, take my yoke upon you and learn from me. So we got to put off the yoke of men from off our necks, being led astray by the con and craftiness of men and the doctrines of men. And we got to be humble like little children and take Christ's yoke upon us and learn from him. Learn what he said about salvation. Humble yourself before God, being willing to learn. Believe in God and in his son, Jesus Christ. But don't just believe. Confess Jesus is Lord, that Jesus is king, and that he has a kingdom. He's the ruler. But you need to also repent, show God changed behavior. But not only that, you need to be baptized for the remission of sin and be faithful unto death.
