The baby boomers are those who are born between 1948 and to the mid-60s and I also cited about the millennials, the millennials born from 1981 right through to the year 2000 They were first called the generation, the Y generation but when the event of the millennium took place, the year 2000, which was a millennium and they decided to call them the millennials because these are the people who are defined by the millennium and also they are also in the post-millennium era and also that's why they're called the millennials and these millennials I think form a larger part of our society and so on and I stated that in India, which is the largest population, they run up to over 400 million so there are many and even in our society in South Africa, the millennials are many If you check from 1981 to the year 2000, if you are born between that, you fall under the millennium and so on Then we have the alphas, the alphas are born now in a new millennium and they are from 2000 until now and these are the teenagers that we have now, 16, 17 and so on Now, looking at the millennials, they have their strong points and their weak points but I would like to focus on the weak points, perhaps tomorrow we may get into the strong points The weak points that the millennials have is that they are these people who have a sense of entitlement They think everybody owes them something, the parents owe them something and everybody owes them something They are entitled people who don't even talk about their parents' homes They talk about my home, in our time, as baby boomers, we'll talk about my father's house, my mother's house and we'll talk about perhaps the closest, we'll say our home, but we'll never say my home We'll never say my father's home is my home, it's my house, my father's car is my car and so on They have this sense of entitlement and also they are impatient folks They want things to happen now and what makes them impatient is that they are born within technology and that gives them now, technology has a tendency of doing things fast, real fast and making things happen quicker than us So we were born in the era where we had to stand in long queues, paying bills and withdrawing money in banks and also requesting checks and so on, but these ones, they just have a card and they insert it in the ATM and they get money and now it's worse and one day I was driving with Pastor Jay and I realized that now, when he does petrol, he does it differently He just takes out his phone and just puts it there on the swiping machine and the next thing, voila, petrol is paid and I said, what's happening? He said, no, I have this electronic card now, we don't use this physical one and so on But that also, the beauty of technology is fine, but also it has an emotional impact where they think everything must just happen faster and faster and faster and it must happen quicker and so on and it makes them impatient, there is this impatience that is there and the other aspect that is happening now, they live in an era where problems are on the rise They live in an era where problems, many problems are on the rise, many countries are involved in what we call the high cost of living and there is this economic down swing, it is official that even in South Africa we are in an economic recession and therefore these times have a lot of problems, financial problems, a lot of things that are happening and also with the millennials again, they are experiencing what we call the high rate of unemployment Unemployment is at an alarming rate now, many people are not employed and this impacts on the emotions of the millennial era and also when they are employed again, they start experiencing racism in the workplace, they are being pushed around every day there is a new problem because there is a boss or a co-worker who has racist tendencies and they are short-changed and so on and also live in a time where socialism is on the rise, when you look at socialism, socialism demonizes profits in other words, if you are running a business according to the labor movement, you need not to make such profits and if you are making profits then you got to share it with workers and so on and profit making, you are made to feel bad when you are making profit in your business, you must share it with everybody and so on, if you are a CEO and you are getting higher bonuses and you are getting a higher salary, that is also demonized, you must never earn that much and so on and at the same time, there are negatives to it again, where employers also exploit professionals, young people, millennials you will find that in most cases, they are short-changed, they are not really getting, they can't just get by, there are problems so, how do we solve this problem? I realize most people are getting depressed now, there is no amen, it's just quiet and there is depression in the set, I am sorry to do that but I think I am going to continue saying this because it needs to be said, amen Amen, we have to say that, we have to say that, now there are problem solving skills are poor, they cannot really get around problems that's why most of them are depressed, most of them have suicidal tendency and suicide is on the rise among them, why? because they have poor problem solving skills, so let's zero in on this one, let's assist all the millennials and let all the millennials say amen Amen, amen, yeah, yeah, yeah, now, let us read Psalm 34, Psalm 34 verse 19 Psalm 34 verse 19, King James, many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them all, amen the first principle for solving problems is that you've got to face the reality that we all have problems, we all have problems, if you don't have a problem now, you'll have one during the day this is a serious promise because it's from the Bible, it says many are the afflictions of the righteous, if you don't have a problem, if you never had a problem this week, praise the Lord you never had one but be careful it might crop up on Friday, so let us accept that many are the afflictions, many are the problems, we do have problems let us face problems, let us face it, we have problems, don't try to bury your head in the sand or deny it, we have problems, amen and we will continue to have problems in life, life without problems, I can't imagine life without problems because the Bible says many are the afflictions of the righteous so this is the first principle that you must establish that life has problems we have this situation where we find ourselves just all over the place, we touch this thing and so on, and if we experience problems, we move away from that and then we go and start something else if we experience problems and we move away from that and so on, you find yourself moving into different neighborhoods, in 5 years you are living in 5 places because you are afraid of problems sometimes you find yourself job hopping, moving from one job to the other, in 2 years time you are now in 16 jobs or 10 jobs why? because you can't just face problems, face problems, stay in one place, face problems, fight problems then again, we must understand that there are self made problems and also problems that come that are just part of life so, one man said, life is hard by itself and foolishness will make it harder so when we talk about foolishness, we all have our own foolishness, in one way or another, there are problems that we cause whether you are young or old, there are some problems that are self made, we just cause those problems and there are problems that come so let's look at the problems that we, things that might cause problems in our lives, what are those? if you are a born again Christian and you meet a person who is not born again and this person proposes a relationship or you are a young man, you just pursue a girl that is not born again because she is beautiful and you are attracted to that beautiful person and so on and you say well I will marry this one and so on you are just making life harder for yourself, the bible says don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers move away from that space because you are going to cause problems or speak to your elder sisters who are now elderly speak to your parents and elderly friends that you make around and who are born again and talk to them about your intentions to get married to somebody who is not born again they will give you a good answer and somebody will say ok fine and we have to be adding and all those things, a sinner will always be a sinner move away from that space, let me show you, there are problems, sinful problems are more brutal and fatal than the problems you experience when you are born again children of God so you got to understand that ok fine, marriage has its own problems, so if I start it with the wrong foot by just getting a sinner and some will say ok I will get him saved, I will call him to church and pastor will be preaching or any of the elders will be preaching there will make an altar, call these things, this person will be born again, listen, check the motives, a person can do anything just to get you the other aspect is that let us strive to live a death free life let us strive to live a death free life, I know there are things that one cannot afford by yourself, you need a mortgage, you need a loan to buy a house in town or in a township but if possible if there is a site and so on just get that site and build by yourself and so on but if you are already in a mortgage or in a bond like that strive to pay off that bond not in the standard time, if they say this bond can be paid in 20 years try to pay it off in a shorter time there are ways of doing that and one day when we have time we will talk about these things of paying off a mortgage quicker than expected and avoid paying a lot of money there are two things here that are important, number one it is important to own your own home, it is said that when we are told that people who own their own homes and who are not renting they are happier than those who are renting, at the same time people who own their home they are building what we call generational wealth generational wealth when one owns a home then other generations will own that and so on, as baby boomers we had this culture of owning homes and those homes now have created what we call generational wealth for the other generations and therefore they enjoy that but at the same time let us make it a point that we kill dead earlier because when we live a death free life we are more healthier emotionally, depression is caused by death and you become tormented by the creditors and so on, these things cause problems, let us strive to live a cash life furthermore let us always strive for financial literacy, elderly people can teach us a lot of things and also it is wise to go for counselling around issues of finances as soon as you get a job and so on you need to be counseled on how to handle finances, well I know most people when we talk about money they avoid talking to pastors about money as though pastors are these people who sit and looking for offerings and making sure that people are, but I know it has been our lifestyle, it is my lifestyle I know very well that as soon as people have money in their hands they avoid me and there is no amen to that one, I wish I could have said it louder and so on, but whatever you do make sure that you get advice around finances we are peasant people, we are elderly people, we have been in the ministry, we have been with our people for too long and we don't take our people, we don't take advantage of our people we don't take advantage of our people like what we see when people just taking advantage of people, we ethically and helpfully out of love and concern advise people Amen, Amen, today I have my chief gogos around here in Liverpool, these are my chief gogos and that were advised adequately and so on, and they are living well, we are wearing sunglasses, we are having parties you know, these guys one night, you know, and well advised chief gogos here, but the issue is younger people when you get a little miracle or you have problems and so on just seek counsel before you sink into trouble, Amen, just seek counsel around issues of money because the odds are stacked against you, you are living in times of high interest rate you are living in times of recession, you are living in times where you just work and you are taken advantage of in the workplace and there's a lot of problems in the workplace, seek counsel before it's too late Amen, Amen, at the same time when you venture into business and you see you can make profit, sometimes things, the profit you are looking at might come back to bite you before you realise it, you will be in a quick sense sinking terribly so, then suicidal thoughts come, then you become now and you begin to catch all kinds of sicknesses and everything like that things that cause problems, let us avoid them because through counsel we can avoid such, then pressure, pressure, you got to learn to cope with pressure what kind of pressure, there is peer group pressure and when you talk about peer group pressure we are not only talking about young people, even adults, married people, elderly people it's easy to get under pressure, to be pressurised by the lifestyle of your friends and you find yourself, you are pressurised, you get into debt, you start now wearing clothes that are just too expensive we were watching the court case, this guy said something that really disturbed me, he said now I'm wearing these cheap clothes and my clothes are tied somewhere there and so on this person is finding value in expensive clothes, expensive clothes don't make you a valuable person, expensive clothes don't add value into your life, you are the one that adds value on anything that's on your shoulders anything that you put on your shoulders, you add value on it because you are a great person, you are a great person there's a man I know, this man runs a very big ministry, in fact their ministry is so vast, they have a university, they build malls and their church fellowships owns a mall and also the upstairs is a church, they call it the upper level, they build a headquarters of 50,000 seater and so on, and they travel the world, they have churches all over the world, travel the world and owning 3 jets this man comes to give a seminar in Joburg and he said something, he said I have no business wearing a $15,000 suit that is worth $15,000 I have no business with that because the price of what I'm wearing doesn't give me value but I give value to everything that I wear can I repeat it? I give value to everything that I wear if I can adopt the certain type of clothing that I'm wearing, only 3 Sundays, you will all love it why? because I have given value to those things, as long as I look good on that thing, I give it value and everybody will be wearing it take a person who is great, a great person makes what he wears great, he makes what he drives great, he makes where he lives a great place now let's move on, my time is up now but let me just try 1 Corinthians 10 verse 18 please, 1 Corinthians 10 verse 18 and we also have 1 Peter 5, 8 to 10 then we wrap it up okay, 1 Corinthians 10 verse 18 there has no temptation taken you but such as is common to men but God is faithful who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able but will with the temptation also make a way to escape that ye be able to bear it Amen, watch in every problem that you experience, self made or just a problem that comes which is a problem of life, every problem that you face, understand that it is common common to men, if you were abused you must know it is common to men, it is a common problem, men are abused if you are raped, it is a common problem, there are people in big numbers who are being raped if you are broke, understand that it is a common problem, there is a lot of broke people in other words, understand that the problems that come upon you are common to men, it is just common 1 Peter 5, 8 to 10 1 Peter 5, 8 to 10 1 Peter 5, 8 to 10 1 Peter 5, 8 to 10 1 Peter 5, 8 to 10 1 Peter 5, 8 to 10 Amen, watch this, here is the thing, the Bible says knowing that the same afflictions happen to your brethren analyze that one, knowing that the same afflictions are happening to your brethren in other words, the devil will like to isolate you always and then even the brothers and sisters listen, I am unique, I am different but at the same time I was invited in a conference outside the country and I happened to arrive late because my son was challenged and I left him at the psychiatric ward, I had to fly out, pay some money and go out when I arrived, only to find that now, the speaker who was sharing the conference with me did not also arrive in time, he arrived late also and we met there, and while we were talking around dinner, I realized that now, we were all delayed almost by the same problem and I so much looked up on him and envied him but when we started talking and sharing notes, I realized that now, he is just in the same boat as I am the pressure of life must never put you in a place where you think you are the only one know that you are not alone and the others are going through what you are going through it is a common problem verse 7, 1 Peter chapter 5 verse 7 it says trusting all your cares upon him for he cares for you and finally ladies and gentlemen, when we are facing problems, we must know God cares amen God cares he cares when we cry he cares when we are hurt he cares when we are burdened he cares God cares your friends might be saying unfriendly statements around you, but God cares your siblings or your relatives might be calling you a failure, but know God cares people might not lend a hand and extend a hand of help to you but don't be confused by the actions of people God cares he cares when we hurt he cares when things don't go right God cares amen he cares when people who don't understand problems that's why you go through these things he cares God cares amen he cares when people call you names and write you off and say you cannot have this you'll never have a family, you'll never have children, you'll never have that you'll never have a car, you'll never have anything but God cares he cares and God loves you he cares you don't have to destroy yourself, you don't have to commit suicide because God cares amen he cares amen and the Bible says he will make a way of escape he'll make a way of escape he'll make a way of escape even if you feel like I won't come out of this thing you can't see light at the end of the tunnel yet understand God will make a way there's a way out in Jesus name let us say amen I want to pray to all, over all people in the name of Jesus Father I pray for my brethren I pray also for the millennials I pray for our children I pray oh God for our sons and daughters I pray oh God even for the elderly that are carrying the burden of counselling all the millennials Father I pray that today show your love show your care and also show them the way out as they learn how to deal with problems in Jesus name amen amen we will continue tomorrow as we deal with the principles of solving problems this is that it's the youth month it's June 16 we have to deal with these things and God bless you amen when I fall along my way and I stop to kneel and pray does Jesus care for me when the long night is bringing me at my way yet so weary oh yes I know He cares for me no one ever cares for me like my Jesus there's no one so high as He no one else could make me feel as something for me oh how much He cares oh how much He cares for me
