I'd like to welcome everyone from all provinces. We thank God that you could tune in. We welcome each and everyone without mentioning names, all the provinces, all the places in South Africa. Thank you. Today we are going to be led to prayer and listening to one of our sons, Apostle Power from Giani. He's going to be sharing the word with us and I know that we will be blessed as we start the day. May God bless you all as we listen to the word. Over to you servant of God. I am so grateful to God for this incredible journey. I also wish to salute our father and our mother for granting me the opportunity to share today. I salute the five-fold military represented in this group. I salute our beloved parents. Let's begin with a word of prayer. God we approach you at the throne of grace with gratitude today. Thank you for life, health and strength. There is no God who could be compared to you. You are our strength, our peace, our loving, our lover, our lifter and our lifting. You are the key of knowledge, the wellspring of wisdom, the doorway of deliverance, our pathway of peace, our roadway of righteousness, our gateway of glory. Would you grant your servant the dexterity of God, the nimbleness of the mind, the grace to be faithful to the hermeneutics of the scriptures, the grace to articulate with simplicity and wisdom that all of us in our different levels of understanding will grab the L'Chaim, the word that you have for us today. In the name of Jesus, which has capacity to catapult us in our walk with you, we vow to give you your glory. In your name, Rabbi, Master, Teacher, Melach, the King, Yodev, Ravi, Shua, Hamashiach, Jesus, the Christ. Amen and Amen. Family, I wish to bring our attention by the grace of God to the text that is captured in Luke chapter 26. We are going to look briefly at verse 41. The Bible record goes in the King James Version of the Bible. Watch and pray that ye enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. These are the words that have been spoken by our Lord, our Savior, and our soon coming King, Jesus Christ, at the very crucial moment of his life as it relates to his mandate on the earthly realm. When we look at the record, we are aware that the writer is there. It's Matthew, and this record is captured in the four Gospels. Matthew looking at Jesus as a king or the king. Luke looking at Jesus as the great physician. Mark looking at Jesus as a servant. And John looking at Jesus as the Word made flesh. And when we look at that very chapter, chapter 26, it's interesting to observe that in verse 7, we see this woman who came and broke the alabaster box. In verse 14, we see Judas Iscariot taking the step to betray him. In verse 18, we see the Lord observing the Passover in the house of this nameless man. And he also foretold of his death and resurrection. In verse 32, he said, but after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee. So, in this moment, he has taken the 11 disciples that were present. He grouped them in two places, in two ways. He put the eight in one space, and he took the three, went further, and he began to talk to God. He has instructed them to pray. He has instructed them to pray. As we look at the text, I wish to kindly draw your attention to a few words. Number one, it is the place, the name of the place where he went with them to pray. It is called Gethsemane. I also would like for us to study the word watch, the word pray, depending on our time, and also the willingness of the spirit and the weakness of the flesh. Now, we have indicated already that this Bible narrative took place at a very challenging moment of his life. He was in agony. He had carried the weight of the world upon his shoulders, just as the song writes, I'll turn these weights down, defeat the Lord. If he carried the weight of the world upon his shoulders, I know my brother he will carry yours. And he took his disciples to a very interesting place as our first point to try and glean from it. Like we indicated, he took them to a place called Gethsemane. Gethsemane is a garden across the Kidron Valley on Mount of Olives East, Jerusalem. This place is interesting among other places that he chose them because it is called or Gethsemane is defined as a place of oil pressing. A place of oil pressing. And in the scriptures when we look at the subject of the oil, in so many places it connects to power. The power of the Holy Spirit connects to the anointing. And our father has taught a lot about the anointing. Just to remind us that a place of prayer is a place of power. A place of prayer is the place of power. Also, oil connects, like we said, with the Holy Spirit. Just to help us understand that a place of prayer is a place where we interact with the Spirit. In 1 Samuel chapter 16 verse 13 we see Samuel taking the horn of oil and anointing David. And the Bible says, and the Spirit of God or the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. And we know that after the anointing was upon him, he began to do a lot of mighty and glorious things. In 1 Samuel 18 verse 23 we know that he was able to play harp. And as he played the harp we see Saul being relieved and peace filled his soul. Demons left because in a place of prayer, in a place of interacting with the Spirit, it's a place of power. It's a place of empowerment. It's a place where we are inspired and equipped to be able to deal with demonic forces that causes stress, strain and struggle in our lives. Jesus takes them to Gethsemane, a place of oil pressing just to remind us, just as I said, that prayer is a place of power. Prayer is a place of interacting with the oil, the power of God that enables us to execute the mandate God has endowed upon us on the earth. And therefore it is key to remember that prayer ought to continue so that we can be rejuvenated. We can be empowered. We can interact with the Holy Spirit who has got capacity to make us do a lot in life, even as far as the purpose of God is concerned upon our life. We see in 2 Corinthians 13 verse 14, 2 Corinthians 13 verse 14, even as we labor upon Gethsemane, the Bible says, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the communion of the Holy Ghost be with you. Here I want us to zoom closely to the communion of the Holy Spirit as we labor on the point that it took them to Gethsemane, a place of oil pressing, a place where we interact with the Holy Spirit. And we see a very interesting word here. The word communion is taken from the Greek word koinonia, which means partnership. So in prayer is a place where we interact with the Spirit of God. It's a place where we interact with the power of God. It's a place where we can witness the office of the Spirit playing his part in our lives. Koinonia also means participation. Koinonia also means intercourse, which simply means interconnection. It's a place in prayer where we are able to interconnect with him. And even as we interconnect with him, we are capacitated to be pregnant. We are capacitated to give birth. We are capacitated to produce. We know according to Galatians 5, verse 22 and 23, the Bible talks about the fruit of the Spirit, which all of us under the sound of my voice, I believe we are aware of them. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. When we get to a place of prayer, it's a place of connection. It's a place of intercourse. It's a place where we can be able to be impregnated by the Spirit and be able to give birth to love, be able to produce joy, produce peace regardless of the storms we may be facing. We produce patience and be able to wait upon the Lord with patience, be able to be kind, be able to be good and be faithful, gentle, and be able to control ourselves. A place of prayer, I repeat, is a place of interconnection with the Lord. Jesus takes them to this place. It was in Gethsemane where he prayed until his sweat was like drops of blood. Just to remind us that, and even before I share more on the reminder there, according to Dr. Luke, we understand that him being a medical doctor, that that moment is a stressful moment. According to research, we know that what happened to him that led to him bleeding, or for lack of a better word, his sweat turning into what looks like drops of blood. It's called, in medical terms, hematohydrosis. It is said to occur in an individual who suffers extreme level of stress to a point where the sweat glands that are multiple blood vessels in a net-like form, they constrict under pressure of great stress. So Jesus was stressed right there in Gethsemane, and still in the midst of stress, we see him conversing with God. We see him praying. Just to remind us that no matter the stresses of life, no matter the pressures of life, no matter the strains in our lives, we still need to communicate with God. We still need to talk to God. I don't know what some of us, we are going through. I don't know the situations that have put stress in our lives. It could be family pressures. It could be financial constraints. It could be relational ostracization. It could be emotional brutality. It could be academic predicaments. Whatever situation that we may be going through that is attempting to put stress on us, it does not have enough power to make us fail to talk to God, because even our Lord went to that place of pressing. He went to that place where he was so deeply and profoundly stressed, but yet he prayed to God. Something which is key for me in the text, it's the moment he went. We know that he went in the night. He went in the night, and he placed those disciples in three places, and he went and checked with them, and that's where our main text comes into being. He found them asleep. He found them sleeping, and he said, Watch and pray that ye enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Allow me to remind us that he went to them and went to a place of prayer at night. It was that. It is normal to sleep at night, but when your situation is not normal, we need to change the approach. Allow me to make this statement in this way. It is abnormal to act normal in an abnormal situation. Family, some of us, our situations are not normal, and therefore we cannot sleep. When our finances are not normal, we cannot sleep. We have to watch and pray. When our family situation is not normal, we cannot sleep. We cannot respond normally to a situation that is not normal. When our academic conditions is under siege or attack, we cannot sleep. We ought to watch and talk to God, and this is what we see the Lord doing there. Some of us, we are going through some night seasons. Some of us, we are going through some dark moments. When it is dark, our vision is also challenged. Vision is key, Lord. The Bible says where there is no vision, the people lose constraints. The people perish. I want to encourage us that even in seasons of our lives where our vision is being challenged, we ought to watch and pray. Let us closely look at the second word, which is the word watch. We have looked at the place which is Gethsemane, which means an oil pressing, and we indicated that it deals with a place of prayer where we interact with the power of God, we interact with the Holy Spirit. When we see David there interacting with oil, he was able to deal with some demonic forces that was causing stress in the life of the king of the land. We also looked at that place of prayer being a place where we interact with the Spirit, where we can be able to produce. But we are here now looking at Jesus dealing with them in a dark moment, saying no matter how dark your condition might be, don't stop to pray. And he makes this very beautiful statement. He says watch and pray. Watch and pray. Let's do some word studies on the word watch. It comes from the Greek word gregeuo. Gregeuo means to keep awake. The Hebrew word equivalent in this position is the word mishmerach. Mishmerach comes from Habakkuk chapter 2 verse 1. I would like to read that scripture Habakkuk chapter 2 verse 1. Thank you media person for helping with the scriptures there. It says I will stand upon my watch, and that's where we get that word, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say to me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. This word, just as we indicated, the Greek word gregeuo and mishmerach means to keep awake. Number two, it means to be vigilant. It means to be watchful. It's amazing that the Lord will challenge us as he challenged them. In a dark moment where like I said it is normal to sleep, but he says it's not normal in a situation that is above normal, you need to be awake. We have indicated and encouraged each other that when our situation, financial, material, relational, academical, economical, in our business life, when our situations are not normal, it's not normal for us to act normal in a situation that is above normal. Jesus calls us to a place where we should be awake. This word in Habakkuk chapter 2, there are two words that actually work so beautifully as we understand how he is playing the picture here. The scripture said I will stand upon my watch and set me upon the tower. So we have the word watch, we have the word tower. I had the privilege to have our father share with me from this scripture together with our mother. In a military base, as Jesus paints to us the picture of how we ought to be awake and to be vigilant, we need to understand the concept of soldiers in a military base. In a military base there are normal rooms for everyone, but there is a tower that is built, it's erected. And the purpose of that tower is so that there can be an elevated observation point. They strategically and intentionally position a soldier in that space. This person we can call him or her a watchman or a watchwoman. A watchman is positioned in that tower and the purpose for positioning that person is to provide a high and safe place from which a sentinel or a guard may observe the surrounding area. A watchman is able to identify somebody or a car approaching from a distance with the intention to alert those that are below him or those that are with him but they are not with him in that space. What Jesus is saying to us and what Jesus was saying to the disciples in the dark season, he was simply saying, look, you need to behave differently. Take the position of a watchman. Stand upon a watch. Set yourself upon the tower. Do not act normal. When you are in that space, a place of prayer gives us an advantage when it comes to an overview, a panoramic view to things. People who pray are able by the grace of God to see danger from far or from afar and as they see the danger from afar, they are able to know what to do. The Bible talks about the sons of Issachar who understood the time and knew what Israel ought to do. We can have that grace. We can have that advantage if we can continue or as we continue and when we continue to talk to our God, as we continue to service this altar, as we continue to raise an altar of thanksgiving, as we continue to sacrifice our sacrifice of praise, as we continue to revere God, as we continue to respect God, as we continue to honor God, as we continue to esteem God, as we continue to lionize God, as we continue to hold God in highest regard, as we continue to converse with him and admire him. That word admire is the Latin word from the English word admire, which means admire and wonder, as we continue to behold his greatness and wonder and express our praises unto him. We want to take this moment to encourage us that take your stand, stand upon the watch, set yourself upon the tower and talk to God. What is so interesting in the text, which is in Habakkuk 2 verse 1, is this word. He says, I will stand upon my watch and set me upon the tower and will watch to see, excuse me family, to see what he will say to me. Let's take some moment and deal with some interesting things in that text. He doesn't say, I will wait, I will watch to hear what he will say to me. No, he says, I will watch to see what he will say to me. The word see used in the text comes from the Hebrew word raach. Raach means the ability to internalize wisdom and the capacity to gain consciousness over a divine presence. I will repeat for establishment. Raach falls among the six words. When we do a study on the word know, we have the Hebrew word yadah to know, we have the Hebrew word raach, we have the Hebrew word daas, we have the Greek word ginosko, we have another Greek word epiginosko, and we have the Greek word oida. All of the six words I mentioned deal with the word to know and also to see. But now dealing with the word see here, raach means the ability to internalize wisdom and understanding and the capacity to gain consciousness over a divine presence. What that definition implies is that as we stand upon the watch, as we set ourselves upon the tower, we need to internalize who he is. He is the wisdom of God, he is life, he is all in all. As we internalize him, we grow the capacity and the importance behind growing the capacity is so that we can be able to pick him up when he manifests his royal presence and inhibits our praise. Allow me to say that again. Raach means the ability to internalize wisdom and understanding and the capacity to gain consciousness over a divine presence. So what happens here is that you and I ought to internalize him and as we internalize him we grow our capacity so that when he manifests his royal presence we can be able to pick up. A classic example that I could use to elaborate that point is this. If you pass by a place where it is famously known that there is a ghost and somehow that ghost manifests itself, what will happen even if nobody said words to you is that your senses will tell you that something that is above normal is present. Why are you able to pick that up? Because your physical capacity, your emotional capacity is at a level where you are able to pick up that there is something unusual, there is an unusual presence. When we internalize who he is in prayer, when we tell him who he is in prayer, when we tell him of his goodness and his greatness, and we tell him of who he is, what happens is that we are internalizing him but furthermore then we grow our capacity so that when he manifests his royal presence we are able to pick him up that he is present. Some of us can attest to this in our services sometimes even as the worship of the praise continues and continues you can have that God moment where your capacity picks him up that he is present. And in that moment the impossible becomes possible. In that moment barrenness can be destroyed. In that moment healing can take place. In that moment a way can happen. In that moment relief can be someone's portion. Oh, I love what Habakkuk is saying. He says, I will stand upon my watch and set me upon the tower and will rock what he will say to me. Because as we internalize and tell him who he is and we grow our capacity through praise, through worship, through thanksgiving, we are able now to experience God's royal presence. And in that royal presence we can be able to witness the voice of God. We can be able to witness the power of God. We can be able to witness the presence of God. We can be able to witness the sweetness of God. We can be able to witness the rest of God. And guess what? He says, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. In other words, you are so open to him that when it comes to him rebuking you are ready to change. When he guides you, you are ready to take the right step. And some of us may remember that the second verse from verse 1 of Habakkuk is the verse where the Lord responded. He answered and sent right down a vision. Man, this man was able to have a vision. He was given the grace to write down a vision after he stand upon the watch. And he set himself upon the tower. The Lord answered and said, write down the vision. Make it plain upon the tables that he may run that reason. Oh, our visions can be restored if we can continue to grow in prayer. Our visions can be restored. We can be able to see our tomorrow today. And we may attest to the truth that when you see your tomorrow today, regardless of the struggles of the moment, regardless of the vicissitudes of life, regardless of the things that are not happening in your life, you are able to be inspired to keep on keeping on. Because you have seen your tomorrow. When we stand in the place of prayer, when we continue to raise the altar of thanksgiving, the altar of praise, the altar of worship, we are able by his grace to shama, not just to shama, but to raach. To have that God encounter where we're able to pick him up as he manifests his royal presence and be able to have grace and advance to know what he's saying. And as a result, he's able to open our vision. It's amazing that Jesus is telling them as we go back to the book of Matthew 26, verse 41. He's telling them to do what? To stand and to watch and to pray. We say that he talked to them to do this in the night. And somehow I believe by his grace that he was simply saying to them, guys, no matter the darkest moment of your life, if you can tune in to the frequency of God, you will receive grace to navigate through, to navigate through the darkness of life and don't fall into temptation. Watch and pray that you will not fall into temptation. I'm going to repeat that again intentionally. When we can continue by his grace to pray, when we can continue by his grace to stand upon the watch and set ourselves upon the tower, as we continue to talk to him, we find ourselves in a position where we connect. When we connect, we tune in to Yahweh FM. We tune in to Yahweh FM. And therefore, as we tune in to the frequency of God, he's able to broadcast into our lives. As he broadcasts into our lives, we're able to know what to do so that we don't fall into temptation. He's able to broadcast into our lives so that we're able to know what to do and not fall into temptation. When I was meditating on this scripture, and I thank God for the grace of our parents, I took it up with them just to find out if we are in the correct space. We may be aware, some of us and most of us, that there are animals that sleeps during the day but are able to navigate through the night, in the night. And as by God's grace, we did a little bit of research, we were humbled to learn that there is about a thousand species that is able to use a system that is called echolocation to navigate through the darkness of life. And as they navigate through the darkness of life, as they navigate through the darkness of life, they are able not to crumble or to crash. Now the question is, as I round up within the few minutes that are left, how does echolocation work? Echolocation, according to research, says, for example, if we take a bat, a bat is that animal that is sometimes majorly dark, it's able to fly at night. A bat sends, emits a highly pitched sound. As it emits this highly pitched sound, the sound is released and the sound travels and the sound is able to interact with anything that is in front of the bat. But this sound, when it reaches to a place or to an object, it therefore inspects the object in front. Check how big is the object. Check how dangerous is the object. Check how high is the object. And as it does that, it therefore takes the message back to the bat and says, bat, 5 meters or 10 meters from where you are, there is an object that is 3 kilometers or 3 meters in width and maybe a meter in height. And this thing, it's tough. If you go through it, you are going to crumble. If you go through it, you are going to crash. So in order to avoid the crash, you need to fly above 1 meter so that you can be able to go over it and not fall into, I quote, temptation, unquote, temptation. And when we got to learn about this, we just baffled. You meet God! Just as our mother has had so much passion to write about animals, even God has hidden such wisdom even in the life of bats. So even when we are going through the darkest moments of our lives, even when we are going through the night season of our lives, we can be able to do what? Release your prayer. Release that sound. Actually, the Greek word for prayer used in that text is the word prosyechomahi. Prosyechomahi means to pray unto God in worship. To pray unto God in worship. It also has got another explanation which means to pray unto God according to His promises, which is to make petitions or to supplicate. But let's deal maybe with worship. It is just this 12 verse 13. The Bible says in the Hebrew language... We simply translate in the congenial version of the Bible. Listen to the condition of the whole matter. Fear God and keep His commandments for this is the whole duty of man. I want to zoom into the word fear which comes from the Hebrew word to revere. The word is yira which means to revere. This is the whole duty of man. To revere has the following synonyms. I'm just trying to elaborate on the word worship as we round up the presentation. To revere means to respect. Number two it means to honor. Number three it means to admire. Number four it means to hold in highest regard. Five it means to extol. Six it means to lie on my side. Seven it means to hold in highest regard. Eight it means to love. Nine it means to worship. So listen to the condition of the whole matter. Fear God, respect God, honor God, admire God, esteem God, lionize God, hold God in highest regard, be crazy in love with God, worship God. Talk to God. Release that sound. Release that sound. Your praise, your admiration, your extolation, our esteem of God, our expression of gratitude, our expression of praise because of His greatness has capacity to do what? It has capacity to go forth and come back with information. In this case, God responds to it and as He responds to it, He gives us information that is needed for us to permeate through the darkest season of our lives and not crumble and not crash. Why? Because we have inside information. The King of Glory is able to tip us. Hey, the enemy has put a trap there. Don't eat that food today at work. Don't sit with that person. Don't fellowship with this person. Reject those kind of friends. Don't do that. That information we can receive just like the birds that navigate through the night and be able to release a sound. We can release the sound of praise, the sound of gratitude, the sound of worship and be able to be informed so that we don't crumble. Watch and pray that you will not fall into temptation. Oh, I'm encouraging you today by the grace of God. Watch and pray that you will not fall into temptation. The word temptation, according to Google search, is defined as anything that influences you to disobey God. When we pray, we are able to know what to do so that we don't find ourselves in a space where we do things that is against the order of God. When we pray, there is grace for us to access information so that we don't fall into the traps of the enemy. I want to end today's presentation with the following quotes. It was D.L. Moody who said, Every great movement of God can be traced to a kneeling figure. God wants to do something great in our lives, but he's calling us to a place of prayer, a place of kneeling. One writer said, Once prayer becomes a habit, success becomes a lifestyle. Once prayer becomes a habit, success becomes a lifestyle. Another one said, If life gets too hard to stand, kneel. Another one said, Prayer is the most important conversation of the day. It was E. Stanley Jones who said, Prayer is aligning ourselves with the purposes of God. Prayer changes things firmly, but above it all, prayer changes us so that we can be able to know what to do when we don't know what to do. Release that praise. Release that sound. It will bring information so that you may know what to do. And Yen.com said, Prayer, the world's greatest wireless connection. I want to end with the words of Corrie Ten Boom who said, Spray your steering wheel or your spare tire. Spray your steering wheel or your spare tire. If it is your steering wheel, you will navigate through the roads of life with it and don't move out of the way. Oh man, but on the other side, if it is a spare tire, you will reach to it in times of trouble. I believe by God's grace we are committed to this moment because we have built a prayerful lifestyle over the years and the Lord is faithful to help us stay on the lane and be faithful to the cause, be faithful to the purposes of our God. And I want to say, in that place of Gethsemane, power is being squeezed. In that place of Gethsemane, we are interacting with the power of God. In that place of Gethsemane, we are interacting with the Holy Spirit. We can be able to produce love, joy, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, perseverance, and self-control. And not only that, in that place where you are facing the darkest moment of your life, watch. It is abnormal to act normal in an abnormal situation. Do like Habakkuk. Set yourself upon the watch and begin to talk to God. And as we raise, He will manifest. And when we have built enough capacity through the internalization of who He is, we are able to pick up that He is present. And in that moment, the impossible becomes possible. But above it all, we are able to have the grace to obey God and continue to fulfill their purpose. In the name of Jesus, Amen. And Amen. Amen. I will hand over to Ma'am, just to get guidance from here. Thank you so very much for the opportunity. Shalom. Amen. Thank you so much. I'd like to just request that we all unmute and take a moment of silence. First, thanking God for a word and asking Him to imprint it in our spirits so that henceforth we know the purpose of prayer in our lives. We know what we need to do when we are in a place of being pressurized. We know how to respond to the pleasures of life in a way that will not make us to crumble. That as we pray, as we release that shout of prayer and shout of worship, God is going to show us what lies ahead and give us ways of acting or responding to that particular situation. We thank you once more, Apostle Power, for the word. We thank God for you and we believe that He is going to use you even more in His field. Thank you for giving yourself time to prepare and really serve God. Ladies and gentlemen on set, may God bless you until we meet again tomorrow. May God bless you all. Amen. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia.
