The Be Rooted podcast, hosted by Katie Lauren Smith, shares the journey of shifting from Be Five Hive to Be Rooted with a focus on community, faith, and identity. The name symbolizes purpose and quiet strength, emphasizing being grounded in truth and faith. The podcast aims to provide a space for women in all seasons of life, discussing topics like faith, identity, health, boundaries, and starting again. The rebranding represents a shift towards trusting God's plan and embracing growth. Listeners are encouraged to follow, share, and engage with the content to explore deeper connections and personal growth. Welcome to Be Rooted. The story, the shift, and the heart behind it all. Hey friend, welcome to the very first episode of the Be Rooted podcast. I'm your host, Katie Lauren Smith, and I'm honestly just so glad you're here. Whether you're walking the dog, curled up with a blanket, or just trying to grab a moment of peace, thank you for making space for this. This podcast has actually been years in the making, rooted, no pun intended, in lessons, stillness, struggle, and grace. Today I want to share the heart behind this space, why I believe it matters, and what you can expect in the episodes ahead. So, Be Rooted hasn't always been called Be Rooted. It actually began in 2019 as Be Five Hive, as some of you might have seen on blog posts. I felt this spark, this desire to create a community for women to share their story. But the truth, I launched it in my own strength. There wasn't clarity, I didn't ask God to lead, and pretty quickly the flame burned out. I got quiet, everything went dead per se. In 2021, I started to feel God gently nudge me again, but this time with a different heart posture. Instead of trying to build something shiny, and hey, look at me, look what I did, he was inviting me to dig deeper, to plant roots, to sit in silence and let him shape the vision. And that's not always easy, if you know what I'm saying. And let me tell you, those years between then and now, they were messy, refining, sometimes lonely, but deeply sacred. And now, we're here. And actually, I am still in the depths of sorrow, but we're just taking it day by day, making choices to move forward. So, you might be wondering why the name Be Rooted? Bees, overall, collective effort. No matter their position per se, they all work together and contribute. Almost like a representation of how Christian service should be. It symbolizes purpose, community, and quiet strength. Bees may be small, but they are very important. They create, they pollinate, and they protect. And Rooted, that's the soul of this place. It's all about being grounded in truth and faith and in identity. It's about no longer chasing or striving, but standing firm in who God says we are. Together, Be Rooted reminds us that we were created with purpose and planted with intention. Now, what is this podcast all about? So, this podcast isn't going to be perfectly polished. It's not a show for anyone or to have it all, the people that have it all figured out. Like I said, this is my first one and literally my first time. I think I've done a podcast in the past with one friend. The idea was just to start, to kick off somewhere. I have been wanting to create this space for years and when it popped up in my memories, I came to the harsh realization I actually never started. The idea is not to be perfect, but to just show up and start. And honestly, that's how I'm living life lately, just trying to show up. This is for the women who are still becoming, who are in the middle of their story, or who are walking through healing, rediscovery, calling, and everything in between. Just like myself, it's for women in all seasons of life, no matter which one you might be in, whether it's the easy one, the happy one, the sorrowful one, or just the fitting one. We'll talk about faith, identity, health and wellness, mental health, rest, purpose, creativity, boundaries, starting again, which there's a lot to come on that. We don't really have any limits here. Some episodes will be solo reflections, short, maybe heartfelt, just a few minutes. Some might be longer. Others will be real conversations with women who have walked through hard things and found beauty along the way. And we'll always, always, always come back to this truth. You are not too far gone, and it's never too late to bloom. Now the rebranding from B5Hive to BeRude wasn't just a design decision, it was a full shift. It was letting go of what I thought should be and trusting God with what it could be, since that seems to be the theme He has for my life during this season and many seasons in the past, which I'm sure will continue to go that way. Just giving it all to Him, because I am, well, simply put, not in control of anything, so I'm learning, and learning very hardly. And you'll see that reflected everywhere, from the content to visuals to the way we build community here. The new logo, the clean lines, the rooted florals, and the B itself. They're a reflection of all of us, beautiful, in process, connected, and something deeper. If you're here right now, I believe you're meant to be. I'd love for you to hit follow, leave a review, and share this with a friend who's walking through a season of rediscovery or rebuilding, or just simply resting again. And if you're ready to go deeper, I invite you to follow along. I'll be sharing devotionals, journal prompts, lifestyle content, and new episodes every so often. Who knows, I don't have a schedule yet. You don't have to be blooming to be worthy, you just have to be willing to stay rooted. Until next time, grace over hustle, truth over noise, and deep roots over shallow validation. Thank you so much.
