Advent of The Franks The Western part of the Roman Empire - after a long, slow deterioration - is officially over, finallly, with the death of Romulus Augustule. Nobody cares! Occupying Romans don't care! Rome doesn't even care: Gaul's now a trading partner. Rome tightens up on the Eastern side and a new era starts. Groups of people rove around, power shifts around and changes. One barbarian leader gains momentum and unites the Franks, creating a Gaulish kingdom for the first time.
