Environmental Awareness

As teenagers we designed and ran one of, if not the, first recycling terminal in Canada. We did it out of the same garage our band Mongrel practiced in (Sunnyside, Midland). That summer (1973) we applied for a Government grant and it was approved. The Town of Midland stepped up and helped us establish pick up routes and bring awareness to the citizens, who all participated. Of all the gov programs that summer, ours, N.E.R.T. (Natural, Environmental, Recycling Terminal) was profitable.
