They explain that there is a companion book called "It Starts With Us" from the perspective of two boys in the main book. The speaker introduces the main characters, Lily Blue, Ryle, F. Lass, and other supporting characters. They describe how Lily and Ryle meet again after an initial encounter on a rooftop, and how Lily ultimately chooses to leave Ryle and be with her first love, Atlas. The speaker mentions that the book has similarities to movies like "Sleeping with the Enemy" and "Enough," and discusses moments in the book that made them laugh, cry, or roll their eyes. They highlight the main concept of the book, which is about Lily wanting to be better than her mom and understanding that even though people do bad things, they are not necessarily bad people. The speaker concludes by recommending the book for those who Hello and welcome to today's podcast. Today I am going to talk about my favorite book of all time, It Ends With Us by Colleen Huber. She has written many of my favorite books. Another favorite I have is I Would Love and I have another book waiting for me that is called It Starts With Us. That is like the same book but from the perspective of the two boys in the book It Ends With Us. Through the book It Ends With Us we get to know some characters. We get to know the main character who's name is Lily Blue. Then we get to know those two boys that I talked about, Ryle and F. Lass. We also have some other characters who is important but not the main part of the story. Lily's parents, Lucy who is Lily's roommate, Alisa who works for Lily but is also Ryle's sister and her fiance Marshall. The book ends with a new character who's name is Emerson, also known as Emmy, that is the daughter of Ryle and Lily. So already from the start I was hooked with a peak of a starting romance happening at a rooftop. Then we think they are not going to see each other again but they meet six months after when Alisa starts to work for Lily and Lily hurts her foot and then they call Ryle to come and help and Lily doesn't know that her brother is the Ryle that she met at the rooftop. So here they meet again and then you get excited because you know from this part something is going to happen between them. I will say that my favorite character through the book is Atlas because he was the person who was the most genuine and through the whole book we got a peek to how he was and to Lily's diary and then we get to meet him in real time and he is the same caring and gentle Atlas we got to know through the notebook. He is a very strong boy and who went to much as he was younger. He was homeless and he ended with having the best restaurant in Boston. He started from reading cookbooks and cooking for Lily and then he went to the army and came back and opened his own restaurant. When Lily meets Atlas again he was there for her through all the time. Ryle made her uncomfortable and they ended up together and yeah that is why he's my favorite. He's like every girl's dream boy. This book has some similarities to some movies as well. They are not exactly the same storyline but they share the same themes. So the first one I found was Sleeping with the Enemy and that is about Julia Roberts who escapes from her abusive husband and tries to start a new life and that is kind of what Lily had to do. She escaped from her abusive relationship but not in the same way. Another one I found was Enough that Jennifer Lopez played in that is about the woman who fights back against her abusive husband to protect herself and her daughter. This book is more like that movie because Lily also gets a daughter and that she also needs to keep safe from Ryle so the daughter doesn't end up having parents like Lily had. Over to a moment that made me either laugh, cry or roll my eyes. A moment that felt unbelievable. The last quote made me cry because it just fulfilled the whole story and it made just so much sense. The last quote was You Can Stop Swimming, Lily. You have reached the shore and that Atlas said to Lily and they have loved the book because when they were together they watched Finding Nemo and they supported each other by saying just keep swimming. Another moment is when Lily needed to choose to leave Ryle because however how bad he was and how he treated Lily, he really loved her and I fell in love with him as a reader because he seemed perfect in the moment. I would say the main concept of this book was that Lily wanted to be better than her mom because her mom was in an abusive relationship and Lily never understood why she never left him and she sat in the same position as her mom and understood why her mom didn't left the dad because even though people do bad things, they're not bad people and you still love them. That was also a quote that Ryle said. But she stood up for herself and did exactly what she needed to do. That was to leave Ryle and go to her first love that was Atlas because it made sense because they started together. That is why the book starts with us and it also ends with us. That I mean is like the perfect series of a book in my opinion. I think that you can learn some things by reading this novel. How to be a strong woman and even though at some moments feel awful, it always gets better because in some points she was at a very low place and then she got back again and she ended up having her dream life. I would not make any changes to the book because I think it was perfectly written. Of course I could choose that she didn't leave Ryle but I don't think that would be good for either of them because I know he won't stop doing the things he promised not to do anymore and if they stay together it won't end with us. So the whole book needs to be Atlas in the end. If you really like a romantic book that is catchy about young love, I really recommend this book for you because I have read it in Norwegian and English like 5 times. I read it every summer. Goodbye!
