Next, you'll need to decide on your preferred biometric authentication method. The two options are face recognition or fingerprint. Your face or fingerprint will be securely stored on the laptop and is not shared or transmitted anywhere else. It cannot be accessed by any other parties and will only be used to authenticate you on this laptop. You'll be prompted to use the face recognition method by default. However, you can choose to use your fingerprint if you prefer. Follow the on-screen prompts to set up the authentication option you decided on. For the face recognition option, ensure you are looking at the camera which is positioned at the top centre of the screen. If the camera cannot detect you, ensure the shutter is open. For the fingerprint option, the sensor is located just below the right arrow on the keyboard. Follow the on-screen prompts to record your fingerprint. In addition to the face recognition or fingerprint authentication, you will need to set up a PIN. When you click next, you will be prompted to enter your username and password again. When you click sign in, you will then be shown a message saying that more information is required. This is referring to multi-factor authentication or MFA for short. Follow the on-screen prompts to set up MFA using the Authenticator app. For detailed instructions on how to set up MFA, please refer to the quick reference guide for MFA. After setting up MFA, you will be prompted to create a new password. Follow the on-screen prompts, then click sign in. When you click OK, you will be shown a window where you can finish setting up your PIN. Your PIN must be 8 characters long and not contain sequences of number, for example 1, 2, 3, 4. Once you have done this, the window sign in process will be complete. If you have any issues, please refer to the New Laptop QRG Troubleshooting section or contact IT.
