Il Quartetto Melodia

"Il Quartetto Melodia" is a string quartett (2 violins, viola and cello) with four short movements. The four movements are all based on the melody played by the first violin in movement 1, "Melodia". In the second movement, "Coperta di Suono", the notes are put on top of each other to make "a carpet" of sound. The third movement, "Scherzo", gives the melody a different rhythm, and in the fourth, "Allegro", the melody is divided in small pieces and repeated by different instruments.
