A $1,000 reward offered by a barbershop in Orange County will more than pay for your haircut. Good morning, this is Cave Beach 88 News at 6 o'clock, brought to you by Chrysler. And this is Anthony Rath reporting. On Monday, in the city of Orange, Golden Touch Barbershop was robbed of their ATM machine. The incident occurred in the early morning hours when a truck driver used a crowbar to bash the barber shop window and stealing the ATM machine. It was estimated that there was $5,000 in the machine. Golden Touch is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone offering any information leading to the arrest of the thief. Over the weekend, a blizzard slammed the Sierras in Northern California, as well as Nevada. The Interstate 80, known as the main trucking route, has been closed for three days due to lack of visibility, with both truckers as well as passenger car inhabitants finding themselves being forced to pull over for hours at a time. There has been nine feet of snowfall, with more storms lining up, expected to hit through today. This storm arrived on the heels of a previous blizzard, dumping 10.5 feet of snow in the same region. On the basis of concerns over antitrust laws, a federal judge has blocked JetBlue Airways from taking Spirit Airlines under its wing. At a price of $3.8 billion, both JetBlue and Spirit agreed they would not be able to meet the time requirements in order to secure the mandatory, legal, and regulatory approvals. JetBlue is expected to pay Spirit $69 million as compensation to put towards resolving any remaining matters related to their failed merger. Spirit shares plummeted by almost 14% upon the announcement, while JetBlue shares remained steady. In unusually expedited fashion, the Supreme Court has ruled that no state has the power to decide the fate of a candidate running for a federally held office. Only Congress may act in that regard. This decision will place candidate Donald Trump back on the ballot in Colorado while ending the consideration of other states to follow Colorado in removing him. Colorado argued that Trump incited an insurrection on January 6, 2020 and therefore could not run for public office per Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which bars insurrectionists from holding public office. Trump has yet to be charged with an insurrection. The judges were also concerned about future elections and the effect that the practice of removing candidates from ballots would have. The Haitian government has declared a state of emergency for the next 72 hours from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. due to exploding violence as a result of prison breaks orchestrated by gangs in Port-au-Prince. Alone, the peaceful citizens are experiencing the onslaught of the emptying of the jail of nearly 4,000 hardened criminals and extreme violence ranging from assault, assassination, to kidnappings. The objective of the gangs, according to the Haitian police, is to spread the Haitian police resources in while causing chaos and panic in an attempt to overthrow the government. With the escalating violence, the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince is urging Americans to leave immediately. South Korea and the U.S. began their annual 11-day computer-simulated command post training and field exercises. North Korea is claiming this activity is a plot to invade their country and will be forced to respond with unspecified responsible military steps. In the past, North Korea has followed up their fiery rhetoric with a barrage of missiles into the sea. The 48 field exercise drills being conducted is twice the amount of last year's drills. South Korea and the U.S. have growing concerns over North Korea's nuclear program as North Korea has test-launched missiles at a record pace over the last two years, threatening to use them preemptively.
