The host Annie discusses the theme of "Rock Skipping" based on Psalm 18:2. She reflects on God's role as her rock, fortress, and deliverer, expressing gratitude for His provision and spiritual gifts. Annie recognizes that her passions and talents are nurtured by God, leading to a vision of rock skipping symbolizing God's sustenance through challenges. The message conveyed is that with God's involvement, what should sink propels you forward. It emphasizes the beauty of God's grace in moving us through trials. Hello everyone and welcome to the Walk and Talk Faith Devotional. I'm your host Annie and today's topic is titled Rock Skipping and we'll be reading from Psalm 18 verse 2 and it reads, The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer. My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. My God is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. This morning in my prayer time I began to take inventory of my life, reflecting on where I've been, how far I've come, and where I am today. I felt this overwhelming sense of gratitude and appreciation. None of it could have been possible without God. And during this time of reflection, I thank God for all He's provided and given to me. I thought, who am I to complain about what I don't have? If what I have is exactly what God wants me to have right now, in this season, who am I to complain? I began to thank God for His spiritual gifts and the passion I have for creating things, using my talents and skills He has given me. I had to think about that for a minute. All my desires, what I'm passionate about, what I love to do, all came from Him. God began to nurture that from early childhood to today, and He continues to do just that, nurture my desires. How do I know? When I look back at my family history, there isn't much in the line of journalists or broadcast journalism or podcast hosts, streamers, digital creators, etc. etc. in our family. Granted, yes, some of this is all new and modern, but there isn't that type of interest in my family in the past. So I counted all joy knowing that the desire to do all this stems from God, simply saying, yes, you can. I had a vision of someone standing on the shores of the beach or lake and throwing rocks into the water so that the rocks were skimming the surface, essentially rock skipping. And God's message to me was, each skip equals God sustaining me step by step. The stone doesn't float forever, but God keeps it going longer than expected, like grace carrying me through multiple trials. So the message is, what should sink moves you forward when God is involved. Isn't that beautiful? I hope you enjoyed this devotional. Have a blessed day, everyone.
