RS is also part of the unit-based council to help coordinate goals on her unit. She has moved up the clinical ladder at her facility, gaining more experience and a higher pay. A little about the professional and educational background of RS. She became a nurse for the purpose of maintaining and stimulating her physical and intellectual abilities with her body and her mind. She loves being able to critically think while also contributing to the health needs of her community. Her background consists of customer service in the grocery business at Vaughan's for a few years, as well as a little bit of experience as an EMT working on an ambulance and some emergency care, first responder care. Her journey consists of graduating nursing school in 2016. In 2018, she obtained her BSN as well as her CFCN at the podiatry office. She then decided to join the American Nurses Association and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing as well as the AACN in 2020 to professionally develop in her career. She became a preceptor in 2020 and also obtained her PCCN in 2021 because as a tele-nurse, we are required to float to the step-down slash DOU slash PCU, whichever title you call that floor in your facility, and obtaining a PCCN is really good on a resume and provides more background for experienced nurses. She became an RN3 on the clinical ladder at our facility, which increases pay and also illustrates more experience after a few years. In order to move up the clinical ladder, she was required to form a committee and or participate in hospital committees. She decided to join and become a member of the unit-based council meeting in 2021 to facilitate meetings and sort of coordinate the unit-based council goals on the unit.
