The dating game changed when people had instant access to everybody like on the internet constantly. Dating apps came around, you know, Tinder and Bumble and all that, and it makes it so easy to just hook up. And I think it has really kind of taken away the intimacy a lot of times out of a relationship. And it makes it confusing because when people now, you know, a lot of people are skeptical going into a relationship, you know, they're like, are you really want a relationship or are you just wanting to hook up? Right. Automatically starts a relationship out with like a doubt and a fear of like, are you really going to commit to this or is this just another easy hookup? So I think it has taken like a negative toll because it's created this, like for people that are wanting like a serious monogamous relationship, it's created them to have these trust issues and fear immediately going into the relationship because it's kind of like, you know, I'm scared to settle down with somebody when they can literally just, if we have an argument, pull open an app to Tinder and swipe right on somebody or left or whatever, you know? So, I mean, it's just, it's too easy now and it makes it hard to trust people. It causes some trust issues there, so I think it makes it a lot harder to build a committed monogamous relationship. Okay. Yeah. Millennials delayed traditional markers of adulthood, such as marriage and home ownership. How does this relate to your own aspirations and experiences? You said with home ownership and what? Marriage. Marriage? Definitely. You know, it was really hard coming up, you know, to be able to do the job and the industry was, you know, part of that delay in home ownership is just because, I mean, prices of houses went up astronomically compared to when our parents bought homes and it was a lot harder and, you know, banks started making it harder to get approved for mortgages and so that was another thing. I mean, there's a lot more, there's a lot more entailed to buying a home today than it was 30 years ago as far as the banks approving you for a mortgage and all that stuff. So, I mean, I think part of that delay is just the struggle itself in the economy and the home industry and, you know, that's part of it with marriage, you know, because I think for a lot of people with the whole marriage thing, it was delayed because women were becoming more independent, renting their own apartments, renting their own homes, had their own job and it was kind of like you get a little bit scared to invest in that with somebody and especially, you know, a lot of kids in my generation, we started, we were the generation I felt like that really started experiencing seeing parents divorcing where, like, my parents, my parents, both my parents, their parents, my grandparents, were married till, like, death do them part. So, like, you know what I'm saying? They grew up where it was really more of like a true lifetime commitment. That was a lot more common. That's what my parents viewed versus, you know, my parents divorced when I was a teenager. A lot of my friends' parents divorced when we were in high school or in college and so it kind of, when you're an early adult, after you've done, gone through your parents' divorce, it kind of makes you a little bit, like, nervous to embark on that yourself. So, I think that had a big effect as far as the whole marriage thing. Okay, yeah, that makes a lot of sense. So, there was a huge decline in traditional institutions like religious affiliations among millennials. Millennials are very known for being the least religious generation of all time. How do you think this has impacted your generation's sense of community and belonging? So, I took a college course last year and it was on sociology of paranormal beliefs and a huge unit in that was actually religious beliefs. And the authors conducted a lot of studies and you're right. That is absolutely right. You see a decline in my generation of religious beliefs. And one of the things they found in the study was that they linked, and this is a statistic. You can, like, look it up. There are studies conducted on it. But people that are college educated, the higher your level of education, the more likely you are to, I don't know why, but the more likely you are to not have religious beliefs. And this is an interesting concept because, like I mentioned prior, my generation was the one that was really pushed to go to college. We were pushed to go to the higher institution. We were pushed to get these bachelor's degrees, these master's degrees, these PhDs. The more education, the better. The more college, the better. And there's a correlation between rising education and a lack of belief in religious systems. And I think that directly falls with, you know, college institutions. And so, you know, people are more enlightened. People are open. I'm not saying, like, believing in a religion is a bad thing by no means. I'm just saying we are more aware of what's out there. Open-minded. Open-minded. Open-minded. We're more open-minded to different belief systems. We're exposed to different belief systems when we're in college. Our beliefs that we had going into college are challenged. And so I think because my generation really was pushed into higher education, the traditional beliefs that we grew up with, you know, they were challenged the moment we got on a college campus. And so we kind of started to be like, hey, you know, there's a lot more to the world, and there's a lot of different beliefs out there, you know. What makes mine the best, you know? And we started questioning these things. And we started having, you know, we had questions that we needed answers for. And so I think that that correlation directly affected that decline that you see. And finally, how do you envision the legacy of the millennial generation? Oh, that's a good one. You know, I think we will always kind of be known as the generation that had to transition to survive. Because we've gone through so much in, say, only 30, 40 years, and we've seen a lot of different eras in a short amount of time. We're like an adaptive culture. Okay. I feel like our legacy is going to be one of shattering old toxic stigma and trying to, like, create new, you know, we tend to be the first generation to be more open to new ideas and new thoughts. And we tend to be a much more self-aware generation, and we're trying to, you know, break a lot of generational curses to create, and we're persecuted a lot for that, you know? A lot of the boomer generation looks at us, like, with our parenting styles, because a lot of times they were very different than what our own parents did, you know, with us. And we're looked at, you know, being like, oh, you know, you're not near as tough as you need to be on your kids, and, you know, you let a lot more slide and all that. I don't think that's a suicide case. I think we're just trying to create a better world with more understanding people. And so I think that's a legacy of we will always be the generation that tries to open the door for a better future for future generations. Okay. Thank you.
