Occupational therapy (OT) in schools is beneficial and relevant to Response to Intervention (RTI). OTs can collaborate with educators to make classroom adaptations for student success. They also advocate for student participation in school activities and work with parents on strategies for home. OTs provide consultation in the classroom to support diverse learners. OT in the school setting is both beneficial and relevant to the topic of RTI because occupational therapists can collaborate with educators to determine adaptations or modifications within the classroom that will ensure the student's success and allow them to overcome any outside barriers. OT can also advocate and promote participation in all school occupations for all students. They can work with parents to ensure carryover and strategies that can be used at home and to look at different viewpoints for intervention and or remediation. Occupational therapy can also provide consultation within the classroom to maximize participation in learning for all diverse learners.
