Occupational therapy (OT) in schools is beneficial and relevant to Response to Intervention (RTI). Including OT as part of the academic team provides various resources to support students. Early detection of students who may benefit from OT services improves overall proficiency in the classroom. OT also helps all children participate in school activities. OT in the school setting is both beneficial and relevant to the topic of RTI. Having the different scopes of practice as part of the student's academic team increases the understanding and provides all types of resources to support that individual. Early detection of students who may benefit from these additional services allows for an overall gain in proficiency throughout the classroom. OT also helps to promote participation in school occupations for all children.
