Del, short for Delmont, meets Alex Pena and they have a conversation. Del talks about his ex-girlfriend Lisa, who he had a tradition with on her birthday. They used to make wishes while blowing out the candles on her cake. One year, Lisa wished she didn't have cancer, and she eventually recovered. However, she decided she didn't want to be with Del anymore. Del suspects she wanted a house in Tuscany more than him.
