A man is driving in heavy rain. He slows down to be cautious and avoids accidents. He wants to be home on stormy nights. The sound of the wipers is hypnotic. He stops to pick up a hitchhiker who is soaked. The man wonders about the hitchhiker's identity and purpose. The escaped man. The rain was falling heavily. It was like driving through a thick curtain of water. He eased off the accelerator a little. Had to be careful driving on wild nights like these. The last thing you'd want is to have an accident or a breakdown. You just want to be at home on stormy nights like these. The thwack-thwack of the windscreen wipers was hypnotic. The storm was terrible and the man stopped on the side of the road to pick up a hitchhiker. The man was completely soaked. But the mystery remained. Who was he? Where was he going? And why was he there?
