This is a short version cut from the extended version of our podcast featuring Australia Agritech and Elders partnership. Hear about the New DJI Agras T100: spray, lift and spreading drone. The full-length podcast features an in-depth Q and A session at the field demonstration that Elders held with Australia Agritech at Neridup in September 2025. Extended version available on request.

Craig White, state manager of advisory services in Western Australia, discusses the use of drones in modern agriculture with Gary Rentenaar from Australia Agritech. They are testing drones for mapping and data collection at different heights, creating RGB and NDVI maps for Elders. The vision is to combine drone technology with human intelligence to enhance agronomy services. They also talk about the advancements in drone technology for spraying, lifting, and spreading on farms. Elders and Australia Agritech are working together to showcase these drones, with the T100 model being displayed at various locations. The potential applications of drones in agriculture are vast and offer new opportunities for farmers. Hello. Welcome to this Elders AgriLink Podcast. My name's Craig White. I'm the state manager of advisory services here in Western Australia for the agronomy and livestock production team. And of course with that comes a lot of information and a lot of things going on with drones and how they are fitting into the modern agricultural landscape. Well, I suppose T100 is the very latest of them all, the largest built for taking on the larger jobs. Yeah, and the spraying side of things is really, well, the capacity is doubled. It's more than doubled. It can fly much faster. It has a 100 litre tank and it has a new airframe as well. So you can actually lift the whole drone off the tank sort of and put it onto a spreading system or a lifting system as well, and it can lift up to 100 kilos. Gee. So that might come in handy on a farm if you want to move some gear across crops or different locations. Be very handy. But the spreading side of things as well is totally improved with a nice auger drive there, different variety of those. So we're keen to see that being used out in the field. But yeah, Esperance was great. We had two T100s flying at the same time, two pilots operating different sections of the field, and it was just a great opportunity for people to see how it works and how efficient they are. Yeah, that's it. So with that, I think, yeah, the lifting, spreading and spraying ability, a lot of people have been hearing about the spraying, and there's certain parameters to get right around that, and I think we're all learning, but it's showing that people are using them all around the state, like up north last year, again this year, all over. People are buying them, so they're not wheel tracking. They've got more capacity in their own systems. But I really like the idea of this spreading for urea, potentially even seeds. You know, seeding out areas. That's right. You imagine even every year, farmers will end up somewhere with a, you know, a seeding mist sometimes. We call it row worm, where one head was blocked on an air seeder. All right. Potentially a drone with a little narrow swath width could become a real viable reseeding option for that, and then a small tractor with a little set of harrows or something going along to fill that in. So, you know, whatever you think of, there could be an application for it. And the lifting side of it, really interesting, especially with big machines, there was just labour shortages and stuff, you know, jobs that might require two people. That's right. Potentially a drone now could, you know, bring that in where they can lift something up into the middle of a machine or put a pump up there or get it out to the middle of a paddock or something like that. Definitely very convenient. It's a great machine to have ready to go in the shed. It can, you know, when the ideal weather appears, you can actually just top it up and go spraying straight away. Cover areas you couldn't have done before, especially when it's wet. So, yeah, people are discovering new opportunities for this drone. Yeah, I think, pardon the pun, but the sky's the limit with these drones for sure. And it's great to be on board with Australia Agritech and have that Elders Network being part of it. And there's only going to be more to come. So, Gary, where could someone actually see one of these units? Yeah, okay. Well, I'd say contact the Elders branch nearest you first. They might actually have one on display. If they don't have the real thing, they've at least got a small model. Yeah, those little models are amazing. They're quite nice. But, yeah, if you're ever in the city, our office is on Adelaide Terrace and we usually have a T100 on display in the office. So, always welcome to call in for a cuppa and check out the T100 there. That's very kind of you. And I know Judy and the whole team there at Australia Agritech yourself include always very welcoming. And it's great to be in there and have a bit of fun and have a look at these things. But they're just going to become much more part of the landscape. So, thanks very much, Gary. Thank you very much, Craig.
