In this audio recording, the main element that strikes the listener is the persistent sound of static, reminiscent of the kind often heard when tuning an amplitude-modulated, or AM, radio. The static noise, a fuzzy, crackling sound, dominates the audio landscape, creating a sense of distance and obscurity. Amidst this enveloping static, however, are traces of indistinct voices. They are barely audible, as if coming from far away, and are fluctuating on a frequency of 570 kHz. These voices, vague and ghostly, create a sense of mystery. They fleetingly pierce through the static, offering glimpses of a conversation or broadcast, but are quickly swallowed up again in the noise. The audio is continuously shifting, as if someone is persistently trying to tune the radio to get a clearer reception. The frequency modulation adds a rhythmic, pulsating quality to the audio. The experience is akin to attempting to tune into a distant radio station late at
