The Play Action Podcast discusses the NFL Draft. The Baltimore Ravens addressed their needs with good draft picks. The Cincinnati Bengals focused on securing the O-line and D-line. The Cleveland Browns had a solid draft with limited picks. The Pittsburgh Steelers had a great draft, especially with their value picks. The Detroit Lions focused on the secondary and had a good draft. The Green Bay Packers made some controversial picks but overall had a strong draft. The Minnesota Vikings addressed their quarterback need and made good selections. Overall, most teams had successful drafts. Hello everyone, and welcome back to the Play Action Podcast. I am your host, Ryan, and I am joined here by Robby, with an episode that is about a little over a week late now. Yes, it is. Because I got sick and my voice, like, died for about a solid week, so we were not able to upload. But we have a late edition of our NFL Draft Recap here for you today. We're going to go through all 32 teams' drafts and give our analysis on them. So without further ado, we've got 32 teams to get into. Robby, you want to get it going? I do. All right. I've been waiting for this. I was all ready, and then Ryan was sick, and I don't know how many of you out there would want me to do an episode solo, but I think it was better that we just do it now. Yeah. All right. Let's start off in the AFC North with my favorite football team, the Baltimore Ravens. And their whole point of their draft is to address some needs, and they did. They got a corner in the first round, Nate Wiggins. Tackle in the second round, Roger Rosengarten. Edge in the third round, and Adisa Isaac. Then they got Tez Walker, TJ Tampa, who was Mel Kiper's top player and was bored for what looked like two rounds or something. So they just filled some needs. They had a good draft class. Yeah, there were no real splash moves. I don't even think they made any trades in this draft at all. I could be wrong about that, but not off the top of my head. If they did, they were late round trades. So, yeah, it was just kind of generic, boring, quote-unquote draft for the Ravens, but they got some great players. They made some great value selections and made their team better. So, yeah. Honestly, even if it was kind of a boring standard draft for them, I think if I were to rank all 32 teams on who had the best draft, I'd put them close to the top ten. I think they really did what they needed to do. They probably definitely are in the top ten, actually. All right. Sounds good. Moving on to the Cincinnati Bengals. Their draft was headlined at the top by tackle Amarius Mims out of Georgia. Obviously, the first round pick will get the most talk. Like, Nate Wiggins, we barely even touched on with the Ravens, but we don't really need to. He's a good player. Everyone knows that. But Amarius Mims out of Georgia, he's just the biggest human you will ever see. He is, like, absolutely massive. I would not want to line up against him. I would fear for my life. How big actually is he? I forgot. Let's look up. I believe he is 6'9". 6'9". But let's double check. Amarius Mims, he's 6'7", 340. So I was two inches off, but still, that is a huge dude. I saw him in the draft. He was towering over everyone. Yeah. So you get an anchor on the O-line with Joe Burrow. You also got Chris Jenkins, the defensive lineman in the second round, Jermaine Burton, the wide receiver in the third round, and then McKinley Jackson, the defensive tackle in the third round. After that, just some depth picks. But they definitely secured the lines in this draft. They secured the O-line. They secured the D-line. They actually picked three D-linemen and two O-linemen out of their ten picks. So half their draft was securing the lines. So I think it's a pretty good draft. I think it's a pretty good draft. They also took two tight ends, if that's of note. They took Eric All out of Iowa, Tanner McClain out of Arizona. So they obviously don't feel great about their tight end room right now. So that's the Bengals draft. Any thoughts on it, Robbie, that you would like to share? Also on this upcoming year, I just think they were kind of nothing for me this last year. I think this will give them a boost, at least, for this upcoming year. Yeah. As a team. Yeah, they got better. I disagree with the assessment that they were nothing. Well, I don't know about nothing. They just lost Joe Burrow. They're a great team. They're an elite team. Probably top five in the NFL, but they just lost Joe Burrow. But Browns had a kind of quote-unquote boring draft. They had a good draft for what they were given. This isn't a bad draft. We can give draft grades as we go. I'd give the Ravens a B plus and the Bengals a B. B. I'll leave it there, a B. For the Browns, it's probably a B as well. They had a good draft for what they were given. They got Mike Hall, the defensive tackle. Zach Zinter, a guard. Jamari Thrash, the Louisville, one of my favorite, most underrated receivers in the fifth round. So they just did not have many picks to work with. But I feel like they nailed the picks that they had. So we don't even really need to address the Browns draft that much because they didn't make that many picks. But I feel like they nailed what they had. That's why I give them a B. What do you think, Robbie? I agree. I mean, yeah, not a whole lot going on for them, but they got the job done. All right. Now we have here the Pittsburgh Steelers, our last AFC North team. And for them, they anchored the O-line in the first two rounds with tackle Troy Fontanu, who is also flexible. He can play guard if you want him to. They also grabbed center Zach Frazier out of West Virginia. Why did I say West Virginia? It's so weird. In the second round. And then after that, they got two of my favorite picks in the whole draft. I feel like these were great value picks in the third round. Wide receiver Roman Wilson out of Michigan and linebacker Peyton Wilson out of NC State. I feel like we're some great value picks at that point. They were guys I had early second round grades on, and they went in the mid to late third round. So, in fact, late third round at that. So, Robbie, what are your overall thoughts on the Steelers draft? I'm giving them an A. I thought this was a fabulous draft. They really got the job done. They anchored the line. They had some great value picks. This is an A for me. I think watching Roman Wilson at Michigan and both of them, actually, these past couple years, I knew they were going to go somewhere. They were great. And I just think the Steelers is a really good place for them to be. I think everyone benefits well, and Steelers had, like you were saying, great drafts with them. All right. Moving to the Detroit Lions. They anchored their secondary in this draft. They only had six picks, but three of them were on players in the secondary. In the first round, they traded up a couple picks to grab a guy that was slipping in the draft a little bit for whatever reason he was not expected to, cornerback Terrion Arnold out of Alabama. Then in the second round, they grabbed cornerback Ennis Rakestraw out of Missouri, who I thought was a great value pick. And then later in the draft, in the fourth round, pick 132, they grabbed, wow, I said it again, grabbed, they grabbed safety Sion Bakke out of Utah. So three of their six picks were spent on guys in the secondary. So that's what they anchored. I will also give Detroit, actually, I'll give them an A-, because I feel like their draft was really good as well. It was not as deep. But their first two picks, especially in Arnold and Rakestraw, to add some corners to the room, I thought were just great picks, so great value picks at that. So what do you really think of the Lions draft, your favorite team? I think the cornerbacks were destined to happen, and we would have had a worse draft if we didn't get them. Beyond that, I think we had a pretty decent draft. I don't believe it's going to make all the difference this upcoming year, but it was good. We got what we came for, and that's all that matters. For the Green Bay Packers, they made a couple of big picks that not many Packers fans were super thrilled about. First one, Jordan Morgan, the tackle of Arizona at pick 25. Addresses a need, but people were not super happy about that. I think it was a good pick nonetheless. Edgerin Cooper, the linebacker out of Texas A&M in the second round, I thought that was a great pick. Javon Bullard, safety out of Georgia, great pick. Marshawn Lloyd, the running back at USC. I'm really loving these picks as I'm looking at them. I'm giving the Packers, despite how people reacted to that first round pick with Jordan Morgan, I think Jordan Morgan can be a fine tackle for Jordan Love to help protect him. They definitely made up for it after that. You were disappointed by the first round. I'm giving this team an A-. They took some of my favorite players here, Edgerin Cooper, Javon Bullard. I'd give them an A. Javon Bullard. Yeah, I love this draft. I think it's an A- for me. Packers did some great work, addressed some big needs. Even though Packers are kind of a rival, I think, in how good they did in the draft. The Minnesota Vikings, if you're a fan of them, they addressed their quarterback need post-Kirk Cummins. With the number 10 overall pick, they moved up one spot with Jets to acquire that selection and take quarterback J.J. McCarthy out of Michigan. Perfect for them, I think. Yeah, he's a great scheme fit. Stays in that northern area. Was out of Michigan. Now he's going to Minnesota. He's staying in that north-midwest area. J.J. McCarthy, I think he's a great scheme fit. Then they also traded back up with the Jaguars from their 23-17 to take edge Dallas Turner out of Alabama, who was also slipping in the draft a little bit. Great first selection. Just got some depth, including a kicker, Will Reichert, down the board. In my opinion, this is another A-minus. This is a really good draft. They got McCarthy and they got Dallas Turner. Anchored two positions they needed. Obviously, they lost Kirk Cummins. That's a big name. They get J.J. McCarthy to bring in and replace him. But under the radar this offseason, they also lost one of their superstar edge rushers, Daniil Hunter. They tried to replace him for agency with Jonathan Grenard. I think that was a good pick. But they also needed a guy on the other side. That's what Dallas Turner gets. He's a speed rusher. He's a power rusher. He can do it all. I don't know why he was slipping in the draft. I really like this draft class. I'm giving it an A-minus. What do you think, Robbie? I just believe everything you're saying. I think their strongest pick was definitely J.J. McCarthy. But as he went down, still good picks there. Didn't really do anything wrong. And he alone makes it a strong draft, in my opinion. I think it's perfect for them. And as for Kirk Cummins leaving, he just seems like a very good fit to just fill in that gap. I think he's definitely worthy of it. Like I was saying, I think 2024 is going to be the NFL season of new beginnings. It's going to be like a new era for the NFL, and that's just another example of that. Yeah. All right. Moving on to the Chicago Bears. At number one overall, they obviously took Kayla Williams. At number nine, they took Roma Gunze to pair him with them. They had a great value pick in the third round to tackle Kieran Amodeji at Yale. They took a putter in the fourth round. Then defensive lineman out of Kansas, Austin Booker in the fifth. This is my first A-plus. I love this draft. They got Kayla Williams as their quarterback in the future. They got him another weapon. They secured another position on the O-line with Amodeji, and they even secured their special teams with a punter. So I love this draft. I've got no critiques. This is an A-plus for me for the Bears. The only thing I'd change, I mean I agree with everything you're saying, but I'd give it like an A-minus when I give both the Vikings earlier. No, it wasn't the Vikings. Somebody else has said I'd give an A, and you said A-minus. I think I'd give these guys, the Bears, A-minus. Did have a very good draft, though. I mean I see where you're coming from. They did have a lot of very strong picks. But there were some better, in my opinion. Better than Kayla Williams, the best prospect of the draft? Well, they did get him, but I mean I don't think it's that simple. I don't know. I think just because they get the best prospect doesn't immediately make it the best for them. But I could definitely see that A-plus is solid, I think. Anywhere in that range. Oh, right. Our next team is the Buffalo Bills. They had two second-round picks because they traded out of the first, Carolina and Kansas City. They drafted Keogh Coleman, the wide receiver out of Florida State. They took Cole Bishop, the safety out of Utah. Then in the third, they took DeWayne Carter, the defensive tackle out of Duke. Then they grabbed a running back and some depth there. Then Ray Davis out of Kentucky. But overall, my draft grade for Buffalo, I'm going to be honest, I don't like their prospects. It's a C-plus. I think it was a very disappointing draft for the Bills. Yeah. The fact they traded out of the first, they got Keogh Coleman, who's a very risky prospect. We don't know if he's going to be great. I don't know. I don't love it. I don't like this draft. I don't like Keogh Coleman. I don't like Cole Bishop. I don't like this draft. You can see it in the audience in round one. Their first pick, like the Bills fans, it was just kind of like, oh, okay, okay, I see. You mean round two? They didn't pick in round one. Or round two, I mean. They traded out and had first pick and second pick. It was just kind of a little bit of a letdown, I think. All right. Moving on to our next draft class, we have the New York Jets, who the Jets had a pretty good draft, actually. If I'm being honest with you. Obviously, you trade out a pick number 10, you move down one spot with the Vikings, they get J.J. McCarthy, who the Jets weren't going to take anyway. And they take Olu Fashenu, the tackle out of Penn State, to help anchor the O-line. Obviously, you might be going, wait, they signed Tyron Smith. They traded for Morgan Moses from the Ravens. They don't need an O-line bid right now. Why are they drafting this guy? Because they do. They need someone long-term that can be an anchor for them, and that's what Olu Fashenu is. Morgan Moses, Tyron Smith, both very old, both very injury-prone. Fashenu doesn't have to start week one. He could develop like Mekhi Beckton needed to when he was thrust into that role. He can develop behind those guys, and if either of them gets hurt with their injury history, one of them most likely will. So I think grabbing Olu Fashenu is a great pick. Let him develop. And then third round, they drafted Malachi Corley, the wide receiver out of Western Kentucky. They grabbed a running back in the fourth in Braylon Allen. They grabbed another running back in Isaiah Davis. They were just stocking up on running backs for whatever reason behind Breece Hall. And then a bit of a shocker in the draft, they grabbed quarterback Jordan Travis in the fifth round. I guess it makes sense as a backup to Aaron Rodgers now that Zach Wilson's gone. He's also hurt. He can develop. Maybe Tyron Taylor backs up Rodgers this year. And then next year, Jordan Travis can either serve as a long-term backup or maybe even take over after Rodgers retires. So I really like this Jets draft. I'm giving them an A- for what they were given. They made great use of their picks. Robbie, what are your thoughts? I'd almost give them an A+. I think it's a very strong draft for them. I don't think they had very many game-ending weak spots this last season, but I definitely think this draft completely just filled in any gaps that might have been there, strengthened them up. I think they're going to just be real strong against everyone this season thanks to the draft. All right. Our next team is the Miami Dolphins, who in the first round drafted Chuck Robinson, the edge rusher. Then they took Patrick Paul, the offensive lineman in the second. Jalen Wright, the crazy fast running back. That seems to be their thing, crazy fast, in the fourth round. So they grabbed some players here. If you're looking at these first two picks, they're definitely risks. They're definitely bets on upsides. Chuck Robinson and Patrick Paul. I really like Chuck Robinson a lot. I'm not a huge Patrick Paul fan. I don't like that pick, so I'm going to give him a B in this draft. I don't necessarily love it. I don't think it's terrible. In fact, I'm up and down to a B-, but I don't think it's terrible, but I don't necessarily love it. C-plus for me. I think there's a lot of upsides, but there's also just a lot of downsides, and I'd rather them go more in the middle and consistently than it's just – I don't think – there's a good chance it won't work out for them super well, but I guess only time will tell. If they can hold it together, then people will be wrong. It's not like these players have no potential or anything. It's just not super strong, in my opinion, compared to some of the other teams. I think that's fair. Then with our next team, the New England Patriots, they had a very big draft. They picked a guy that's not one of my favorite prospects, but I love the upside, Drake May, quarterback at UNC, is a Patriot. Then Jalen Polk was their pick in the second round to give them a rookie wide receiver. They then boosted the O-line and grabbed another wide receiver in Javon Baker at UCF. So this draft was definitely about helping that offense and getting that single call in the future, and I respect that. Even though it's not my favorite quarterback prospect, I still give it a B+, because I respect that, shooting for the shot – or shooting the shot at getting possibly one of the best players in the NFL with that upside. Moving on. I 100% agree with that. I think he has potential to be one of the best in the NFL, and I think he is going to just go on and do great things. I think those are good picks for him. Moving on to the Philadelphia Eagles, they picked a lot of corners, Quinion Mitchell and Cooper Dejean, respectively, in the first and second round. They grabbed one of my favorite values in Jeremiah Trotter in the fifth round. They got a running back, Will Shifley. They got Jalex Hunt in the third round, the edge rusher at a Houston Christian. I really like this draft. This is an A- for me. I'm a big fan of this Eagles draft class, and I thought it was really good. I thought they addressed their needs in the secondary, and I hope their team possibly bounce back next year. Starting back up with America's team and another bad grade, C-plus for me for the Dallas Cowboys. They got Tyler Guyton to tackle in the first round at Oklahoma. I don't like Tyler Guyton that much. And then after that, they took some controversial alignment in the third round in Cooper Bebe. I don't love this draft for the Cowboys. They didn't have that many picks. They didn't address, or they tried to address needs, but I think they reached a little bit. I don't like it. As a whole, that's all I've really got to say on it. The New York Giants, they drafted Malik Nabors at the top, obviously, a new wide receiver for them. And then they got Tyler Nubin to safety in the second round, and then they got Andrew Phillips in the third round. They drafted a tight end. It's Theo Johnson. So the Giants, for me, I thought it was a pretty good draft, given what they had. I give them a D-plus. Malik Nabors is a great receiver. He could definitely help them out on offense. But I just don't know if Daniel Jones is the answer. So while this was a good draft, I don't know how much it will impact them right now because of their lack of good quarterback play. I think that will definitely play a role in a possible lack of offense this year. Our next team is the Washington Commanders, who are my brother's favorite team, and they drafted their quarterback of the future in Jaden Daniels, the quarterback at LSU. Heisman winner, game breaker. So, obviously, they've got a lot of upside in him, and I think he'll be a great player. My brother is going to order the jersey. Is there a reason that the Commanders are your brother's favorite team? Yes, because we are originally from that area. Fun fact. I chose the Ravens, he chose the Commanders, and that is why. But that's a nice little fun fact to share there with the audience. And then in the second round, they got really good value on the D-line in Jerzan Newton, defensive tackle out of Illinois, Johnny Newton. He was a really good player for Illinois, I should say, and I believe he will be a really good player for Washington. I thought he was a first-round type player and was a great value here in this spot. Robby, you got anything to add? I feel like you haven't spoken a little bit. I've just been taking it all in. No, I think this was a pretty decent draft for the Commanders. Strengthened them up a little bit, too. I don't know, maybe B-plus for me. Yeah, I'd give it an A-minus, personally, because I think they addressed these. In addition, they had two more second-round picks I forgot to mention. Mike Saner still, the corner out of Michigan. Ben Sinnott had that at Kansas State. And then later in the draft, they also drafted Christian McCaffrey's brother, Luke McCaffrey, who might receive a run of rights in the third round. So, A-minus for me. I think it was a really good draft. Now moving out of the East Divisions and down south, we've got the Jacksonville Jaguars. I don't know why I said the Jaguars like that, but I did. And I stand by it. First round, they traded down a couple picks and drafted LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas, Jr. Then they drafted Mason Smith in the second round in the D-tackle. So, some solid picks here for Jacksonville. What are your overall thoughts on them? I'd give them a B-plus grade. I thought they made some good picks, addressed some needs. That's what I gave the Ravens earlier. I thought the Jaguars did a very similar draft to that. What are your overall thoughts? It's kind of funny that three of them in a row start with J, but that's okay. I think it's like C-plus for me, maybe. I don't know. I can't really see a whole lot of... Wait, I'm confused. What did you just say about J? Oh, round three, round four, and another round four. Oh, I thought you were talking about the last season. I was like, how did you get that out of Commanders and Giants? No, no, no. My bad. Darian Jones, David Foster, and Jordan Jefferson. Yeah, a lot of J's in there. A lot of J's. But, no, I think it's decent for them. Not a whole lot of difference being made, I think, but it's okay. We can't give them all B's and A's, though, right? I know, but I think a lot of teams had good drafts. It was a good draft all around. Yeah, I think a lot of teams made their team a lot better. And our next team is the Houston Texans, who did not have a first-round pick. They traded out with the Vikings. They took Kamari Lassiter, the corner out of Georgia, in the second round, as well as Blake Fisher, the tackle out of Notre Dame, Cade Stover, tight end in the fourth round. What are your overall thoughts on this draft for Houston? I'd give it a... I mean, I don't actually love their picks. I'd give them a C+, but really, what are your thoughts on this draft? Small draft for them, I think. Like, I don't know, not an awful lot of big names, but I think it was solid. Kalen Bullock, I'm a fan. Blake Fisher. But I don't know how many more problems they could have really fixed in this draft, but I feel like maybe they could have done more. But it was just kind of...it was fine. Maybe a C, would you say C+, maybe a B- for me. All right. Speaking of B-, guess who's arrived? The Titans have arrived. First round, they took tackle J.C. Latham because Joe Alt went ahead of them, and they were mega sad about that. And then in the second round, they took defensive tackle Tavondre Sweat out of Texas. So pretty good picks there. They had a couple okay picks later in the draft. I like Cedric Gray at UNC, but not my favorite draft class, if I'm being real with you. I don't love J.C. Latham. He's a mauler, but he has low upside, in my opinion. Or he has high upside but high risk, is what I meant to say. So what are your overall thoughts on this Titans draft? Kind of generic. Yeah, generic is the word. Not a whole lot of super high highs, but there was a couple, but it could have been more, I think. Just kind of feel like a lot of the really good picks got to some other teams. But I don't think the Titans were in dire need of them anyway. Yeah. Next pick we have the next team, I should say. Indianapolis Colts in the first round. They were the first team at pick 15 to take a defensive player. Laatu, fun name, out of University of California out there. They're doing UCAL things. I don't really know what else. It's not even UCAL. I don't know why I said UCAL. But I was just talking about UCAL. It was UCLA. It was actually UCLA. It's like the UCAL podcast. I know. It was just UCAL. It was actually UCLA, so I was talking about the wrong team anyway. So that's fun. But round two, they selected one of my favorite receivers in the draft, my fourth-ranked receiver after the big three, as Kendrick Lamar would say. That reference went over a lot of our older audience's heads, but that also might have gone over Robbie's head. Gone through my head. Gone through his head. It's gone over his head, under his head. It's everywhere. It's doing laps around my head. I know. Yeah, Adonai Mitchell, I'm a big fan. Great pick here at pick 52. He fell a little bit. I love the pick for the Colts, but I think he'll be a great addition. As a whole, really good draft for the Colts. I actually really liked it. I'm giving them an A. A? What do you think? I think you're being too nice. I don't think B is so bad. I mean, they're like a high B. I could borderline on A. They're okay. I'm thinking a little too hard about these rankings. They were fine. They're good. All right. Now we have our first D, and that is Atlanta Falcons. Not even a D-plus. It's just a D because I hated all but one of their picks. Michael Pennix, Jr.? You don't like this one? Have you followed the draft world? Keep talking. Okay. Michael Pennix, Jr., the most hated-on pick of the draft this whole time because the Falcons, as Robbie did not seem to know apparently, had signed Kirk Cousins to a four-year massive contract and then drafted a quarterback at number eight overall. So that didn't make any sense. Then they drafted a player I do not like at number 35, Ruke O'Farroro. I don't like him because I can't pronounce that name. No way. Ruke O'Farroro. I don't know. Oh, my God. O'Farroro. He's big up. No. Big Ruke. Ruke, that's what we're calling you. Third round, I like the Braylon Trice pick in the third round. That's it. Every other pick, it was bad. It was just bad. It was not good. Robbie, thoughts, opinions, feelings about the Falcons' terrible draft? I gave a D. I think it was opposite day when I heard about this because I seem to not be on the same page as everyone else. I thought it was okay. But, no, you're right, actually. I'm just glad that it's not an A or a B, though. A D is fair. Good analysis right there. That is top-tier stuff. Moving to the Carolina Panthers, they got the job done a little bit. They moved up for Xavier Leggett in the first round, who I don't even like as a prospect. I'm giving them a C, so I really don't like Xavier Leggett. But, overall, it wasn't terrible. They got Jatavian Sanders in the fourth round. I thought it was a good pick. In fact, I'll give him a higher grade. I'll give him a B-. I thought it was a pretty all-right draft. It helped out Bryce Young a lot by getting a first-round receiver. I just don't like the first-round receiver they got. If they got a Nye Mitchell, it would have been much better for them. But, Robbie, thoughts on the Panthers' draft? I think Trevin Wallace is going to really help them do more this season. I'd like to see the Panthers be a little more relevant, at least to me, and just go further, do more, show up more. I think this is a good draft for them. You're right, they got the job done, filled some gaps. So, okay, but not terrible at all. All right. Moving to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In the first round, they took Tom Brady. They did not take Tom Brady. They took Graham Martin, the offensive lineman at his Duke, who will be a guard or a setter. Listen, it's a tackle. He's not going to be a tackle. Then in the second round, they took the edge Chris Braswell at a Baylow, which I like to pick there. Their second third-round pick was Jalen McMillan, the receiver at Washington. I like that pick. I like Bucky Irving out of Oregon. So, I really like this draft, actually. I'm giving this a B+. Kind of like the Ravens, kind of like the Jaguars. Nothing, like, super splashy, but I think they made good value picks and got the job done. Moving to the New Orleans Saints. In the first round, they took Talese Fuaga, the tackle out of Oregon State. And in the second round, they got a great pick, in my opinion, in Kool-Aid McKinstry, the corner out of Alabama. Fun name, yeah. They also had another fun name later in the draft, Bub Means. But nothing compares to Kool-Aid. I know, it's a fun name. How did you not know? You didn't know that Kool-Aid McKinstry existed? I guess I forgot about him, because this opened my eyes. I thought it would be a first-round pick. I would pick him. And then in the fifth round, they drafted quarterback Spencer Rattler, out of South Carolina. I don't like him that much, but he's got upside. He's a quarterback option if Derek Carr sucks, which he will. So the Saints, I thought it was a really good draft. I'll give them an A- on this draft. I actually thought it was really good. How could it not be when one of your players is named Kool-Aid? Okay, okay, quit the glaze. Moving over out west, here to the Kansas City Chiefs. Robbie, why don't you talk about the Chiefs for a second so I can – You just did it. All right, you done talking about the Chiefs? Yeah, I said it all, actually. Okay, sounds good. All right, moving on, because Robbie took care of it. Yeah, they moved up in the draft a couple spots to get wide receiver Xavier Worthy out of Texas. Do you think Xavier Worthy is worthy? I do, because he's ran a 4-2-1. So he's the fastest 40-yard dash runner ever. He's lightning. The second round, they took Kingsley Suabaria out of BYU. And then in the fourth round, they took a tight end. They do that every year, and then they never do anything because Kelsey is, like, immortal. He doesn't age, actually. Travis Kelsey, you know, he does not age. He's still 22. He does not age. But Chiefs – We're going to catch it up with him in this upcoming season. He just, like, looks really old. He's just, like, casually 70 years old out there on the field. He's, like, going out with a walker. He's, like, out there on the field trying to, like, not be dirty. He's red. He's actually all gray. He actually has no hair. He already doesn't have hair. He's bald. He's bald. But, yeah, I'm giving this draft class an A-. I actually really liked it for the Chiefs. As always, they do something right. The Las Vegas Raiders are always one to have an interesting draft class, to say the least. But this time, I thought it was actually pretty good. I like first-round pick Brock Bowers of Georgia. He's best player available. That's a great pick. Then they got Jackson Powers Johnson in the second round. Delmar Glaze out of Maryland in the third round. Tommy Eichenberg. I love this draft. I'm just realizing this. Even Trey Taylor, the safety out of Air Force, in the last round of the draft. I love this. This is an A. The Raiders just got an A out of the draft. This might be the first time ever. Right. Like I said, season of new beginnings. I mean, you've been saying that for, like, months. It's kind of crazy. If I'm wrong, then I'm just going to, like. Yeah, it's like everybody stays the exact same. Like, nothing changes. The Jets still suck. The Chiefs are still in the Super Bowl. Classic Jets making bad decisions. The Bills just lose in the playoffs to the Chiefs. Margaret's hurt. Just everything that happens every year. But, yeah, A for the Raiders for me. I actually really like this draft, surprisingly, because it's the Raiders. They always draft bad, right? Maybe not. Maybe not. Our next team is the Los Angeles Chargers, who also I gave an A. They took Joe Walt in the first round. I thought that was a really good selection, anchoring that O-line. Second round, Ladd McConkey. Or, as people like to say, Ladd McConkey. In the second round. No, it's really fun. Why? Why? Why? Are you grabbing? Okay. Robbie's doing things off set, including grabbing my money. It's mine. Oh, yeah, sure it is. No, I just took it out of my pocket. Uh-huh. That's what they all say. Bruh. You paid me handsomely from this podcast. Why would I need to steal your money? I think he forgot he was unpaid. Yeah, I'll be getting your money to you soon. The real money was the friends we made along the way. Oh, right. They all took Junior Colton in the third round, and I'm giving him an A, because I thought it was a really good draft. And I'm trying to move on really quick, because it's getting awkward. What are the thoughts of the Chargers, Robbie? Sorry, I was a little distracted by the money conversation. But, yes, would you give them a D? I think that's unjust. I think they get at least a B. B is definitely where they're at. I gave them an A. My bad. My bad. I think just a solid B. Well, no, B plus, maybe. They were good. You thought I'd give them a D? Oh, my gosh. No, I was just giving them an A. And then in the first round for the Broncos, they took Bo Nix, one of my favorite prospects, quarterback out of Oregon. And in the third round, they took Joda Ellis, the linebacker, who I really like, out of Utah. So I'm giving the Broncos, surprisingly, an A minus, just because I love Bo Nix and I love Joda Ellis. And that was, like, all the picks they made. They had, like, no picks. What are your thoughts on the Broncos? Yeah, they did, like, nothing. Because everyone's saying that they had a bad draft, and I'm a hot take, bold prediction. They did. They, like, hardly did anything, but it means that they didn't really do anything wrong, you know? Yeah, they also got Bo Nix. Yeah, well. I love Bo Nix. Well, with Ryan's slightly biased obsession with Bo Nix, either way, I think they still did good. It's not biased. It's just he's so talented. Well. He's going to be elite in the NFL. There you have it. The 49ers, meanwhile, took Ricky Pearsall in the first round, and a bit of a shocker. Then they took some nobodies, and then they got – I'm sorry. I should not call them nobodies. Cornered Renardo Green. It's okay. They called the Bengals nothing earlier. Yeah. Yeah. I felt really, really mean by saying they were nobodies. Renardo Green out of Florida State. Dominic Pooney out of Kansas. Malik Mustapha out of Wake Forest. Then a guy that actually is pretty important, Isaac Garendo out of Louisville. He's a lightning-fast running back that will probably be the backup to Christian McCaffrey. 49ers get a C-plus. I don't love their draft. I like Ricky Pearsall. He's not a first-round player, and I didn't like their picks. Robbie, thoughts on the 49ers? Pearsall is not a first-round player, but 49ers did okay. They needed to do okay. Otherwise, they were going to get lost in the shuffle next year. They did good. I'm kind of realizing how everyone did good, but I feel like it wasn't like a lot of people did really bad and, like, the others did great. It was kind of everybody did good. Yeah, I'm giving the 49ers a C-minus. I didn't like it. I thought it was bad. Bad? Yeah. And then the Seattle Seahawks were headlined by one pick, and that was Byron Murphy, the D-lineman in the first round, and that single-handedly makes this draft B-plus. In my opinion, that's where I'm putting it. I loved the rest of their picks. Instead of D.J. James, the corner at Auburn, I did like that pick. But I do think Seattle's Byron Murphy pick was a great move there, so I'm giving them a B-plus. Robbie, thoughts on the Seahawks? Seahawks, they're good. Murphy, I think I'm not as high on him as a lot of people are, or I just thought you were going to say something. But he's good. I think, well, he's probably honestly the best pick that they got, though, in my opinion, even though I'm not crazy about him. He's the best pick they got, and I think he could really help a lot and improve them this upcoming year. Next, we have another A-minus on the board for the Arizona Cardinals, who drafted Marvin Harrison at number four overall, Darius Robinson, the edge rusher, at number 27, and Trey Benson, the running back, in the third round. I thought those picks were great. I thought they really helped their team, helped their offense especially, with these picks. I'm giving them an A-minus here. And our last team, Robbie, we're about to move on. The Los Angeles Rams picked two FSU defensive players to start the draft. They picked Jared Burst in the first round, Braden Fisk in the second round. Then they got two of my players in the whole draft, Blake Corum and Cam Kitchens in the third round. Therefore, this is an A-plus. The other A-plus in the draft for me is the Los Angeles Rams. Saving the best for last. Tied for the best with the Bears. I apologize. But, yes, I'm a big fan of the Rams. I thought it was a great draft. Robbie, what is your opinion on this? I can't believe that you gave an A-plus. All of yours have been like B-minus to A-minus. Except for the Bears. Except for the Bears. I think, though, that the Rams and the Bears are probably the most deserving of an A-plus. They both did very well. Jared Burst, can't wait to see what he does. And I think a good way to end off our draft episode. I know. It is, it is, it is. It was a good draft. That will do it for the episode, guys. This is a really long episode. We're over 41 minutes now. Thank you guys for tuning in. Thank you guys for staying with us the whole way. We will see you in the next episode. We will.
