Debbie is doing spring cleaning and putting things on my desk. They're discussing getting push notifications for Pastor Paul's teachings. Jim Taylor is setting up the church to go live on all platforms. They thank three women for donating to the ministry. Pastor Paul talks about his plan to Uber to make extra money. They discuss feeding the homeless and the need for churches to do more to help people. Pastor Paul starts teaching from the book of Acts and talks about the opposition they faced for preaching about Jesus. He emphasizes the importance of being influencers and warns against being hypocrites. push notification this morning that pastor Paul was going on in a half an hour hopefully you did I didn't see it but Jim assured me he showed me it did go out he went to him good morning yes good oh good morning I'll tell you yes I did Jim people got those notifications was so excited I love it okay that's what this is a part of the process that Jim is putting together for us this is what we're talking about and we hope to do those when I'm gonna come on with the teaching or come on with a live this is all just in case something happens a tick-tock we're all connected so that we can without software engineer that's the gentleman that is setting up the church getting it plugged in getting to the point where when we go live they'll cover every platform that is out there any teaching anything that goes on in our church he's he's taking us in the direction that anything that we do at the church and it's if it's being filmed we'll go live so that all of you can see it once again these are the part of the things that we're trying to do to make this this this this ministry international not just local but international meaning world I want people across the world to see and hear the gospel coming out of our ministry in Arizona hey this morning I want to I want to thank some folks real quick I'm gonna I want to thank some folks real quick I oh Jim good to see you I knew you were I knew you were probably one of the first ones on I want to thank this morning Jennifer Kallel or cow L I'm sure I'm really messing that up please forgive me Heidi Haines or I know I'm messing up please miss Heidi please forgive me and Cindy Hatton I'm sure I'm pronouncing those last names I'm messing them up but with all that being said thank you miss Jennifer thank you miss Heidi thank you miss Cindy guess what folks I asked y'all to bless our ministry and those three ladies yesterday donated I think 122 two of them $25 now what did that mean well if you remember my schedule is I go to ace in the morning and I over about two hours a night so here's my objective with the ubering I plan to uber at least two hours a night two and a half hours but two hours a night and my objectives is just to make $50 that in turn gives me the ability to do the little extra stuff me and miss Debbie wants to do well last night I didn't have to go uber because these three individuals once again miss Jennifer miss Heidi miss Cindy bless the ministry so guess what I did last night I stayed I got off work I came home me and miss Debbie are getting ready for our son's wedding we were getting one of the bathrooms all cleaned up we're going back to the storage unit getting stuff that we bought years ago so that we can incorporate it in the bathroom so I got to spend the evening with miss Debbie last night and study the word so once again miss Jennifer miss Heidi with Cindy thank you I didn't have to go over last night because you blessed the ministry and I want to thank you for that and so folks I'm asking you all to bless this ministry if you get anything out of it if anything in this is blessed you please fill fill up led by the Spirit to bless this ministry so thank you so much and I'm going to ask I used to be ashamed about doing that but I'm going to ask y'all at the end of all of this I'm going to ask you is what we shared was it a blessing did it help and if it book of Acts turn to the book of Acts chapter 4 the book of Acts chapter 4 and we'll we'll we'll look at well we're going to read it play by play verse by first but let's let's look at that but let me answer some questions before we get started once again let me reiterate you should have got a push today's title why do the heathens rave why do the heathens heathens rave rave let's make that's it why why do the the heathens rave why do people dismiss God why do people not acknowledge God and why do they get upset at us when we lift the Lord up so we're going to look at something like that but it's not a new thing it's always happened so there you go um once again this morning you guys should raves are fun there you go this morning you should got a push notification that we were going live I hope you guys got that Jim Taylor our software engineer set that up and some of you said you got it so praise God how many of you got a push notification if you didn't get a push notification that means that you didn't go to our church website and get registered so go to the church website get registered that'll keep you up to speed of what we're doing what we're going to be teaching sharing and so on etc as it is evolves miss joy she said she did so Jim see that mr. mr. where are you at I just want to where are you located at what part of the nation are you here in Arizona are you outside where you at let me know where are you located at not that it matters with regards to how often do you feed the homeless oh I love it love it Kentucky like my seat sheet says that's a great question how often do we feed the homeless let me tell you right now we don't feed the homeless enough historical we have I used to pack truck I don't even have the pictures anymore but I used to have a little Toyota pickup we would pack that thing two three four feet high full of food and I would transport it all the way to the church and we would distribute food now though to answer your question we do not do it enough so if you if that's an interest of yours because it is my please help us by blessing this ministry please help us by your prayers I felt an amazing amount of prayers yesterday I don't know if y'all were praying for me but I felt some prayers yesterday when I reached out to all of you and asked you what we needed one of the things I want to do is I want to I want to feed the homeless at least twice a week at the minimum our church is located in a very challenged area our church is located in an area where you've got million-dollar homes less than a mile away but you've got crime in sort of the local neighborhoods where there are there are murders I literally when I turn on the news Jim you know this some of you live in Arizona you know this right near our church I guarantee you at least once a week there's a murder once a week there's a crime a violent crime I to answer your question I would love to feed at least at the minimum to twice a week I would love to feed people so praise be to God if that's a great question if you don't live here help us with your prayers help us by blessing our ministry and I guarantee I've got I've got some folks that will come along my side and we will help feed people so if that is a concern of yours it definitely is a concern of mine because even Jesus said you fed me when I was hungry you gave me water when I was thirsty gave me food I mean clothing when I was naked you you came and visited me when I was in the hospital you came and visited me when I was was was incarcerated then they said Lord when did this ever happen to you he says if you did it to the least of them you've done it to me so I love that question and thank you and keep us accountable keep asking that question because guess what we want to be able to do it all right why don't churches do more to help people the way Jesus did I can't speak for all churches but I can speak for myself my time got you taking care of with my time people thank you oh thank you sir you and miss Debbie do we love you immensely um thank you I can't speak for most churches but I can speak for my church um I think for the most part that I think there are a lot of churches that do a lot of great work out there and so with that being said I can't speak for them but I'll speak for mine I don't think we are doing enough I really don't I don't think we have done enough I think we want to emulate Christ we want to be more like Christ but I think personally I haven't had the manpower or the woman power around me to do it but God here in the last few months has recently brought us Jim Taylor which is our software engineer he's brought me a few young men and with their fiances and wives that really want to help facilitate that so that's the direction we want to go I can't speak for other churches but I can speak for the church that I attend we we haven't done enough and we're going to do more and so pray for us that we will excel beyond measure that we may do what God has called us to do so I love that Jim Taylor was a fullback for the Packers in the 50s amen so thank you so much for that that that question but all right let's get started if there's any other questions please forgive me I you know I'm trying to answer a few questions but I really want to get started on our lesson today the book of Acts chapter 4 why do the heathens rage why do they rage why do they get upset when we talk about Jesus when we talk about the Lord why is that happening and we have to we have to really think about this turn your Bible to the book of Acts chapter 4 and we're going to hear in the time of Jesus the individuals did not want to hear about Jesus let us pray father God thank you thank you this morning for blessing me to wake up another day thank you for allowing me to read your word and I thank you for all those that are supporting us all those that are praying for us all those that are here father I pray that you would just bless us and Lord those that are on the fence undecisive I pray that you would touch them Lord I pray that you will just humble those that are dealing with that that if you will doubt that you would let them know that you are God that you are you you are Jesus that you have saved us that you went to the cross for each one of us father God Lord we just thank you and we praise you we ask this all in the name of Jesus amen the book of Acts chapter 4 starting at verse 1 now as they spoke to the people the priests the captain of the temples and the Sadducees came upon them being greatly disturbed that they taught the people and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead now the Apostles with emphasis on Peter they are preaching Jesus they are preaching Jesus now look what they're preaching it says it's right there they taught the people and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead now think about this they are coming on the scene the the religious elite the religious Sadducees and the captains of the the the synagogue and the priests are upset because the Apostles and the disciples of Jesus are teaching about his resurrection that must have been the hot topic that must have been a conversation in every spot at every corner in every place in this town and the towns around it that did you hear about that Jesus did you hear about the self-proclaimed most Messiah did you hear that the Son of God the Son of Abraham his name is Jesus son of Mary and Joseph you remember them he Joseph passed away but he resurrected from the dead and he declared after three days so Peter and the disciples were preaching and teaching the resurrection of Jesus Christ the same thing that we do today but how how sad that these religious elite were angry at them for doing it right there it says the Sadducees came up to them verse 2 being greatly disturbed that they taught the people this is the same thing that is taking place today there are people that are upset that pastor Paul's on here sharing anything about Jesus there are people on tick-tock that that are of other religions that want to minimize who Jesus is oh he's just a prophet he's he's nothing more than that he's he's just you know he's just a guy he's just a nice person he's he's just an individual but when we declare that he is the Son of God that he is God that he is the resurrection he's the way the truth and the life they want to push back why watch this let me take a sip they want to push back because if they conform to what you're teaching that means they have to make a decision to change their lives if a religious person that comes against you because you are teaching about Jesus and it goes against their religious beliefs they are too consumed with pride and refuse to change the way they were taught and they are risking their soul to eternal damnation because why they have sin because they they they do not want to because of their pride they do not want to change or say I was wrong the same way with the religious elites the same way with the Sadducees the same way the Pharisees and and and the captains of the synagogue they were upset because they were teaching about Jesus and his resurrection let's keep reading they taught the people and preaching Jesus the resurrection from the dead verse 3 and they laid hands on them and put them in custody until the next day mmm for it was already evening however many of those who heard the word believed and the number of the men that came to be about 5,000 folks when we teach the word someone's going to hear it when we preach the Word of God when we preach Jesus the point of that here is do not and we mentioned it yesterday do not allow the devil to cause you to shrink from sharing the message you and I must be influencers we talked about this yesterday see Peter and his desire and the disciples were out there influencing the people by teaching and preaching the word now they're going to be some folks that don't accept it there's some folks right now I'm sure they're there I haven't read it because I can't multitask but I'm sure there are people in the comments that are coming back with some negativity but I guarantee you that God is also getting the message across to someone who needs to hear it even at this point while the religious elite were upset that they preached Jesus him crucified and resurrected there were 5,000 souls that received it and were saved folks we got to be influencers I said yesterday I know that you equate an influencer to someone on a platform I know that some of you equate matter of fact when I was 19 20 21 22 I never even heard of the word influence used in this context that we didn't have the word with the word influence or the word influencer we would probably say it's not like well they have great influence or they are able to influence them to change their mind we didn't have but how we use influencer now you know we say influencer oh you must have a large following on a platform we say influencer well oh you must be well known on on Instagram or or or Facebook but all of you are influencers each one of you no matter your walk of life you're an influencer you might be an influencer and work at eighth you might be an influencer and and and and you are delivered that delivering the mail you might be an influencer and be an administrative at a doctor's office you might be the doctor and you're an influencer you might be the nurse the technician and be an influencer you might be the cross work guard that crosses the children across the street you are an influencer folks right here these guys were teaching and preaching Jesus Christ crucified and resurrected that the religious elite disliked it they didn't they didn't want their thunder to be stolen they didn't want to share the glory with God they were consumed in their their their their their religiousness but Peter and all the disciples were preaching and teaching and at the end of that verse five thousand souls were saved see you're an influencer they were influencing do not allow the devil to cause you to think anything else you might be a mom staying home taking care of the kids I can't help but think of Lambriel she's got three beautiful kids she's influencing them you might be a father that stays home with the kids and and and taking care of the babies maybe the wife does does enough that takes care of the whole family you are an influencer maybe you're the individual that goes into the job you are the influencer you have to understand we are influencers and what are people seeing in our lives and I pray that they see you right in your mouth about Jesus I pray that they see you ever so often bow your head bow your head close your eyes in prayer I pray that they see that the words come out of your mouth are exalting them in their life encouraging them in their life I pray that they see you winning souls to Christ and all of that and I pray that you do it for the glory of God because you and I are influences no matter where we're at no matter what we are doing we are influencing people Paul said we are letters to be read or epistles to be read people are reading us watch this you can also be an influencer for the wrong thing oh wait a minute I might step on some toes here once again Peter what was he doing we'll read it again now they spoke to the people the priest the captains of the center of temple and the Sadducees came upon them being greatly disturbed that they taught that they taught that the people in preaching Jesus the resurrection from the dead and they laid hands on them and they put them in custody until the next day for it was already evening however many of those who heard the word believed and the number of the men who came to be about five thousand Joshua good morning brother see they Paul I'm sorry Peter and the disciples were teaching in preaching they were influencing what they believed some of you are influencing in the wrong way some of you are influencing in a negative way let me explain you say you're a Christian but you're the first one to gossip at work you tell your children you're a Christian but you completely go off on them and yell profanities and threaten them you say you're a Christian but you shortchange the individual that you borrowed something from you say you're a Christian but you're not quite consistent in your story there seems to be a lot of lack of integrity you say you're a Christian but you're not the best neighbor you say you're a Christian but you're always the one to start something see that's what we don't want to be we don't want to be that kind of individual because that individual is a hypocrite now what's a hypocrite a hypocrite says that your face says one things but your actions do another let me repeat your voice says one thing or you say one thing but you do the opposite and you got to check yourself on that you got to make sure that you're not that make sure you're consistent and we're not talking about perfection but we're saying Lord use me let me be led by the Spirit because I am an influencer and I take watches I know some of you let me let me just really look at you when I say this I know we say something like I don't care what people think only time you should say that is when you're giving glory to God let me repeat this because you might not get it let me take my glasses off so you can see my eyes some of you say I don't care what people think and that's a good thing providing you are serving God and you're giving him glory because when people say I don't care what people think they're probably doing the opposite me as a Christian I care what you think oh wait a minute let me I don't want this to go on with coffee I Paul Abram as a Christian I care what you think when I'm in public I care that you might be watching me and I want to make sure that I'm being a good example when when when I'm on the phone and we talk I want to make sure that I talk properly because I want to be a good example when I'm in front of my children or my wife or my neighbor I want to conduct myself as a man of God now here's where it really gets good I not only want to do that in front of you or around you I also want to do that on my private time when I'm with God because God sees everything see I'm an influencer not because of tick-tock but because I'm a child of God oh y'all didn't get me we are influencers not because of some platform we are influencers because we are children of God we are we are light in a dark world we are the salt in a world that needs healing God is using us we are influenced we should be concerned what people think about us we should be concerned what people see when people say I don't care what they think well if it's something that's negative or shines light in a negative way on you you should care you should care but if you say I don't care people what people think Peter didn't care what people think let me read it again Peter and the disciples went into the square they were preaching Jesus and him resurrection they were preaching they did not care why because they were giving God all the glory because they were giving God all the glory but when a person who wants to wear something appropriate inappropriate and say I don't care what they think when I see someone wear a shirt that has profanity on it and you can look at them and say yeah they don't care what people think I I don't think you should wear a shirt with profanity on it I don't think you should dress inappropriate I don't think you should use language inappropriate I think you should care what people think why because I think you should walk around with some kind of dignity I care no let's not talk about judge we're not we're not judging and I've said it before let's get this right judgment okay hmm discernment is the word I want you to run with discernment we're gonna step off topic just a bit because someone said don't judge no no this is not judgment discernment let me give you what discernment is I am driving in a part of town where it goes from safe to sketchy and the moment I know it's sketchy I make sure my doors are locked I make sure that I'm alert and orientated and I'm going to to to discern or I have discern that I'd be I got to be on my my my the the highest alert I'm not judging I'm discerning I'm not judging the area or the people I am discerning what is going on judging means I am judging unto condemnation I'm not judging a person because they wore a short unto condemnation I am saying I'm discerning why would you wear a shirt that has a offensive lettering on it why would you wear a shirt that when a child sees it they look at mommy say mommy what does that mean that's discernment I'm not judging them I'm discerning they don't judge because for me to judge that means I'd have to be a judge and I can I would have to be able to judge them on to condemnation I'm not judging I am discerning so let's make sure we get that right and you might not have been offensive about it but I just want to make sure you see where my heart's coming from I discern I don't judge now let's say that let's use a different scenario okay I'll give you a perfect example yesterday at ace I had a young man come up to me and he was obviously gay there was no way he had a purse he had the feminine attributes and he was full-blown but he came up to me good morning lamb he came up to me said hey I'm looking for this device blah blah blah blah blah blah I discerned that he was gay but I didn't judge him unto condemnation I didn't immediately start thinking well you're going to hell I didn't do that but I discerned he was gay I discerned that that that that that that that was the lifestyle that he had chose but I didn't judge him unto condemnation and matter of fact I helped him we got what he needed we sent him on his way I didn't even think twice about it there's a difference I hope you guys got me on that one did you guys receive that okay did we receive and understand that real quick I gave you two elementary examples give me some feedback if anybody received that amen all right so let's get back to this we want to as influencers we need to really be concerned how people see us my father growing up my father mother I didn't understand it at first because I was young and I didn't have enough sense but my parents the way they dress the way they talk the way they live the way they kept their house the way they kept their car everything was about giving glory to God I used to think it was sort of them thinking they were putting a spotlight on themselves but no my father in the end of his life said you know could I I don't wear suit I wear jeans to church but my dad was about the suit and tie and shirt and I praise be to God but I asked my dad I said dad why do you dress like that every time I see you he says I want people to know that God has blessed my life what was he saying I'm an influencer and I want to influence people to know that I'm giving all praise and glory to God that's what my dad was saying he was an influencer this was before tick-tock this was before Instagram this was before Facebook this was before computers he knew he was an influencer he was an influencer at Sharon mark Derrick he wore work green pants white shirt had his name on the shirt he was for descriptive purpose my dad was a blue-collar guy it was a blue-collar guy but his influence on the docks his influence with the men his influence with the managers his influence with the customer was always on point matter of fact when he died there were many many many people that came to me and said your father in his actions and his words and his attitude changed my life because we are what influencers folks take that serious you're an influencer and we have to Peter was an influencer and he didn't care what people thought about him when it came to his Jesus notice how I made that personal he didn't care what people thought about him when he preached the resurrection he didn't care what people thought about him even to the point that he knew he could have been arrested the religious elite did not like what he was saying they refused what he was saying because they did not want their thunder to be stolen they wanted to be the religious elite and they did not want Jesus to overshadow them so this is why they were upset but if you look at the end a 5,000 people heard the message there we go let's move on verse 5 we're in the book of Acts chapter 4 now we're starting with verse 5 so people raging they're raving but they're raging people are still raging about Jesus today how many times do we look at the news and a Christian school comes under attack how many times do we hear in the news that a religious militant group takes Christians hostage how many times do we hear in the news that that that people declare our word hate information how many times of tick-tock have I been banned because I've proclaimed Jesus Christ and spoke the truth how many times do we hear this people are raging against the Christian now watch this watch this watch this we can we can talk about other religions I mean we can we can we can how can I put this let me word it just right we don't we don't we don't hear too much about other religions we don't hear too much about other ideologies but you start talking about Christianity and Jesus and all of a sudden we become the targets that's okay that's okay people don't want to hear about Jesus because if they hear Jesus and if they accept that that means that's going to have to be a change that will be a change let's think about it we are influencers all right let's get let's start it a book of Acts chapter 4 verse 5 and it came to pass on the next day that their rulers elders and scribes as well as Ananias and the high priest Cathias and John and Alexander and many as were of the family of the high priest were gathered together at Jerusalem so all the religious elite the high priest they were to gather together because now they have these disciples incarcerated all right and it says in verse 7 and when they had set them in the midst they asked by what power or by what not name have you done this what did they do they were teaching Christ what did they do him and resurrected they were talking about Jesus and preaching the Word of God they were preaching the gospel but they said by what authority by what power do you teach what you're teaching watch this then Peter filled with the Holy Spirit said to them rulers of the people and elders of Israel if we this day are judged for a good deed done to the helpless man by what means he has been made well so someone has been healed and restored and Peter saying we've done a good deed but what have we done how we have offended you read on verse 10 let it be known to you all and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth whom you crucified whom God raised from the dead by him this man stands here before you whole by the name of Jesus but but he says right there I love this he says and I really I read it again to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth now I like when Peter brought that down because you know nothing good is from Nazareth according to some people that made that statement but he says but the Jesus Christ of Nazareth he goes whom you crucified oh I'm gonna underline that one he says the Jesus Christ of Nazareth that you crucified see I love Peter because Peter was an influencer now he's about to influence some people that don't want to hear it but he's an influencer Peter's Peter Peter the Rock he's an influencer I could you imagine him in front of the religious elite they're surrounded him there's the the family of the priest and the high priest you have all these people that Peter had probably over the years admired respect heard speak heard teach they they stood on the corners with their prayers they were the ones that would lead the services and Peter looks at them and says the one you all crucified Peter was operating in the spirit of the influence now though just because you're an influencer doesn't always mean people are going to receive what you're telling them trust me I have the blessing of speaking to daily thousands of people on this tip on the on tick-tock not all of them receives what I'm telling them but I'm called to influence and I'm supposed to do it with boldness and I'm supposed to be doing it to give God all the glory let's go back to what Peter did I love this and he says right there he says and Peter said and when they had set them in the midst they asked by what power or by what name have you done this then Peter filled with the Holy Spirit filled the Holy Spirit said to them rulers of the people and elders of Israel if we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man by what means he has been made well let it be known to you all and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth whom you crucified whom God raised from the dead by him this man stands here before you whole or healed or restored by Jesus Christ that man was restored he was healed and he was able to art but ambulate he was able to walk and Peter influences and let them know but you crucify him in Jesus but God raised him from the dead see folks that right there that statement is powerful see could you imagine being in that time hearing through the grapevine hey did you hear you remember that cat named Jesus oh you remember remember when we were at that event and he said all those people and we were eating fish and bread I heard they crucified him and he resurrected the third day I heard it man people are talking about that he resurrected that the earth went dark it shook and and and and people were in fear and he resurrected they went to his tomb and it was empty that must have been the talk boy that must have been the talk because why death but what does the Bible say for the wages of sin is death death finds us all death death has always found us all Adam and Eve when sin came into the world death has found us we die and could you imagine that in the time of Jesus in this day people were blown away by what I heard he resurrected and matter of fact to add to that conversation somebody could have said and guess what not only did he resurrected I saw him walking around the city after the resurrection no you didn't see it I saw him I saw him matter of fact my friend and his buddy were walking and they met him in route and they were talking to him I'm just making up what what could have been taking place I'm just using my anointed imagination could you imagine all that but Peter being an influencer let's go back to what he said he said watch this he said in verse 10 let it be known to you all into all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth whom you crucified whom God raised from the dead by him this man look at Peter by him by Jesus by God by the Son of God by him this man has been healed how do you argue with that how do you refute that that's what Peter was saying how do you refute that you've seen this man you you you watched him but by the name of Jesus by the power Jesus by the authority of Jesus the one that's able to heal restore and forgive by the very one that went to the cross and resurrected on the third day who sits on the right hand side of the Father whom you crucified and you know what's amazing about that the Jews have been waiting for the Messiah from the very beginning from the Old Testament and it's a wailing wall now they are praying for the coming of the Messiah but they had Jesus right in front of them and they denied who he was let's keep reading God raised him from the dead by him this man stands here before you whole verse 11 this is the stone which was rejected by you builders which has become the chief cornerstone they tell me that a cornerstone is the key to the foundation or to the the key not necessary the foundation but the key that keeps it all together the cornerstone some of you who are builders probably know that far better than me but the cornerstone was rejected the cornerstone is Jesus verse 12 nor is there salvation oh golly gosh let's not overlook this I better read 11 again than flowing verse 12 y'all listen to this this is the stone we're talking about Jesus this is the stone which was rejected by you builders which has become the chief cornerstone watch what Peter says nor there nor is there salvation and any other Peter is influencing they don't like what they hearing folks they don't want to hear this they don't want to be robbed of their thunder the religious elite they don't want to hear this they're raging they're ready they're raging they're upset they've been they've been they've been they've been accused of murder and they did they've been accused of rejecting Jesus the Messiah and they did they don't want to hear that see that's the problem people don't want to hear the truth this is the truth the Word of God is the truth they don't want to hear that people don't want to hear that people like their darkness they like their mess they like their sin that's the flesh it likes that and any of you say that's a lot that no people want to please the flesh let's read watch this nor is there salvation in any other for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved folks oh my that's going to get an underline when you have someone refutes you about being a follower of Christ a Christian when you have someone that says oh my religion I'm a Muslim I'm this and that and they just want to minimize your Jesus ask them where does your salvation come from where's your deliverance come from you obviously like me a sinner and we both come short of the glory of God matter of fact we've all come short of glory of God what is your salvation come from and I want you to listen to what they got to say but then I want you to take them to this verse verse 12 watches verse 12 and they'll tell you some names and they'll give you this that's on etc and blah blah blah that's okay but I want you to take in verse 12 and say nor is there oh let's back up this is the stone which was rejected by you builders which has become the chief corners turn verse 12 nor is there salvation in any other when you look at it so there is no salvation and no in any other watches for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved what is that name that name is Jesus so when you ask this person and they want to pop off with this name that name and decide blah blah blah blah blah there is no other name the only name that we need to be interested is Jesus why he's been given all the authority why he's the Son of God why he's the Son of Man he was the substitute the Lamb of God the propitiation he went to the cross for all of us for the world he took upon all sin that we would not have to suffer the wrath that's going to come on this world through whom Jesus this is what this is what Paul Peter was saying to the people he was influencing them with his conviction you want to know something else a little backstory to serve Jesus at this time was to risk everything family relationships employment connections the Roman Empire where it was to the point or going to evolve to the point where they were going to be persecuting Christian folks you have you had the Orthodox Jews the children of Israel you have the other nations that were there that were other religious beliefs that hated Christianity to be a Christian was not trust me folks it's not like now we can go in the car get our Bible we can go to church we can go to a small church we can go to a big church we can have Bible studies at Starbucks we can read aloud we can pray yeah we're gonna have some naysayers and some onlookers and some people be negative but they ain't gonna stop us we still can do it but here to serve God to serve Jesus in the name of Jesus you were going to lose some stuff but they were influencers and they didn't care because to gain Christ was more important just saying let's read on but Peter's influencing who Peter look at verse 13 now when they saw the boldness come on act 4 verse 13 now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men oh snap see the religious elite assumed and perceived that Peter and John were ignorant uneducated they were you know just regular guys they perceived that that that that that they didn't know what they were talking about they perceived that but they had the best education because why they studied under Jesus for three and a half years they saw the works that Jesus did they heard what Jesus taught they watched him go into the isolation to pray to the Father they were at the greatest seminary to ever exist and it was straight from the author of the book it was straight from the author of creation the Word of Life they were studying under him and and these religious elite perceived that they were uneducated unlearned they they weren't they weren't quite up to speed hear me out hear me out I am pro-education I got my little education but education is not where it's at all right getting in your word educating and allowing the Holy Spirit to educate you in the word is where it's at the only difference from the religious elite to Peter and John was this the religious elite were operating under what other men had told them with regards to the law Peter was operating under what the Word of God told him and operating under the Spirit come on now let's think about it they perceive I go back now when they saw the boldness of Peter I like that Peter was bold are you bold are you brave and bold to proclaim and declare the glory of God you're an influencer you got to be bold you're an influencer you got to be bold one of the great stories I heard once is somebody was interviewing Annie Graham lots Billy Graham's daughter and they said your father is world-renowned evangelist Billy Graham he is he is he has been in the presence of presidents and Kings and Queens and and and and and and what is the most profound thing that you've ever seen your father do out of all this exposure all these things that you had the chance to see and she said the greatest thing that I ever saw my father do is she goes I walked into a room where my parents were on their knees and they were praying together Annie Graham lot said that she said the greatest thing now her and if some of you don't know look him up Billy Graham I'm sure most of you do but Billy Graham who was in the Oval Office who who I'm sure had visited every leader in the world oh but he's passed away now but over decades after decades from presidents to presidents to prime ministers to prime ministers Billy Graham and Annie Graham Watson the greatest thing she ever saw was in her childhood home in one of the rooms her mama and daddy on their knees hands clenched praying unto the Lord that was the greatest thing that she ever saw which influenced her influence boldness let's read on now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men they marveled and they realized they had been with Jesus uh-oh y'all know I'm gonna take you there I'm have to take you there see the religious elite perceived Peter and John to be unlearned and uneducated hang on hang on it's gonna get good hmm let me put that over in case I get a little wild they perceived they were unlearned but when they heard the boldness of Peter and John their world was shook up when they when they when they heard the boldness by the Holy Spirit within Peter and John the audience the religious elite was shook up why it says it right there watch this and they realize and they realize that they had been with Jesus what does that mean folks we're in the book of Acts chapter 4 we're reading verse 13 okay we're reading verse 13 let me read the whole thing again before I started communicating on this now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men they marveled and they realized they had been with Jesus folks people know when you've been with Jesus people know when you've been in prayer people know when you've been with fellow believers people know when you've been in that and your daily reading of the word people know when you when you I've been prayed up people know see they perceived at first they were uneducated they perceived they were unlearned but after they they were amazed by their boldness they were amazed by their their their influence they realized the conclusion was this they had been with Jesus folks I'm telling you when you've been with Jesus you're changed when you stay with Jesus you are changing and you will not go back you will not surrender you will not retreat because God is starting something in you and you've tasted his divine kindness his grace and his mercy and people perceive you have been and you are with Jesus folks let me be very transparent with you before I tell you this story I've always been blessed to get along with people always I just have been able to get along with people no matter where I'm at no matter who they are I don't care what their ethnicity is I've always been able to always if I wanted to if I wanted to all right let's use ace because this is our this is our example for now because I I'm there every day at ace they they jokingly say you are too nice at ace they they they jokingly say are you always in a good mood at ace they always even the other day I said something and the manager's like really it was one of those it was a corny word I don't know oh I said gee willikers I said gee willikers are you serious and then the manager goes did you just say gee willikers who said that I don't know I did because I don't cuss I don't you know I said my thing why I'm an influencer so they perceive me to be really nice but let me tell you something it's not me it's the spirit within me oh y'all didn't catch that see it's the spirit within me it's the Holy Spirit within me but the Holy Spirit is using me because when it's all said and done I'm not a nice person we're not nice people but I'm being influenced by the spirit and I'm being led by the spirit and so at ace or in public or wherever the case may be it is the spirit within me that is leading me to be kind to be nice to be fruitful to be loving to be gentle to be patient it is the spirit because my flesh are opposite of all those things let me repeat my flesh let's be honest with each of my flesh is opposite of all those things and back to the verse and that's when people realize you've been with Jesus ah did y'all get that I just took you full circle if you didn't get that you didn't get it people realize I know who you are but I see a change I know who you are how are you that nice Jesus see the individuals perceive that Peter and John were unlearned ignorant but they knew they had been around Jesus they they realized like you must have been around Jesus which is which is mind-boggling to me they knew Jesus was good they knew Jesus did not commit a sin they knew that Jesus did not blaspheme they know this and they even perceived that these men that were speaking Jesus with boldness were around Jesus but even that they still allowed Jesus to be crucified Jesus gave his life they didn't take it but still it's just mind-boggling they knew even Nicodemus came to Jesus by night because they knew the works that he did was from God but people will know if you're around Jesus don't know if you're studied up don't know that you're in your word don't know that you've been prayed up they'll know and they will too as an influence perceive you have been around Jesus let's keep reading verse 14 and seen the men who had been healed standing with them they could say nothing against it but when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council they conferred among themselves so they dismissed for a moment Peter and John and now they've got to come up with a solution to their so-called problem these guys are preaching Jesus all you know this is going to steal our thunder what do you recommend what do you recommend but we can't deny this man was healed because he was he wasn't healed before and now he's healed and I know they Peter and John don't have that kind of authority what do we do what tell them never to speak again tell them not to say anything again do we all agree with that everybody say aye aye aye okay let's do it what verse 16 saying what shall we do to these men for indeed that a notable miracle has been done through them is evident to all that dwell in Jerusalem and we can't deny it but so that it spreads no further among the people let us severely threaten them that from now on they speak to no man in his name verse 18 so they called them come on Peter John get up get on back over here come on we need to talk to you so they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus you know that ain't nothing but from the depths of hell because there's power in the name of Jesus come on watch this watch this watch this but Peter and John influencers with boldness moved by the Holy Spirit watch this but Peter and John answered and said to them whatever is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God you judge for we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard so when they had further threatened them they let them go finding no way of punishing them because of the people since they all glorified God for what had been done Peter's like think what you may think what you may but we're going to honor God we're going to serve God we are going to be we're going to be influencers for the kingdom of God and they had to release them I couldn't hold them they couldn't hold them because the people because remember we read earlier 5,000 souls had heard the message and had been saved verse 22 for the man for the man was over 40 years old on whom this miracle of healing had been performed time of illness a long time only explained by the glory of God but the religious elite had to let Peter and John go why because of God is for you who can be against you what am I trying to close on here is this you and I are influencers don't think just recently people started disliking Christian folks Jesus was the first one the founder of our faith they disliked him first they hated him they despised him they mocked him they spit on him to the point they crucified him yeah they killed him he was an innocent man he did no wrong there was no sin in him he was perfect precision but they took him they put him on a cross he died among thieves they put him in a tomb borrowed but he didn't need it long term did y'all catch me on that one he didn't need the tomb long term when you go down to the cemetery that's not your final resting home that's not where you're gonna be because why the scriptures quite clear those that are dead in Christ those are alive with a with the sound of a trumpet we're gonna meet the Lord in the sky back to Jesus that tomb was a temporary place but what happened they came back to the tomb and the tomb was empty the tomb was empty he wasn't there he had resurrected this is the message that Peter taught and John taught they were influencing the people don't be shy God has got you he'll watch over you he'll keep you he'll bless you be an influencer for the glory of God be an influencer you don't need four and a thousand people if you can get four people that are in your living room and their calls your wife and children or husband and children influence if you're at Walmart you see an opportunity to influence some people influence maybe you're like Ray Ray works for a well-known cable company I guarantee if Ray steps into your place of business or into your your home he's gonna influence you you got so you got the right guy in your house I know that for a fact you you've got Josh there I tell you what anytime Josh makes a beautiful piece of art that's Josh's creation I know that was created by the love of God through his gift I know Jim right there I know Jim as he helps develop our software and program he's an influencer I know Lambriel with those beautiful babies she's an influencer I know Brian with his beautiful family influencer and the rest of you we're influencers be bold we owe everything to the Lord we wake up we woke up this morning because of God allowed us to do we slept last night didn't know what was going on outside but we don't know legions of angels were probably protecting us we didn't even know it there might have been last night someone don't come in and rob your house and and and and the Lord had his angels right there you don't know we don't know but I thank God I thank the Lord all the time but let's be bold like Peter and John let's not worry about what the religious elite and as the heathens of today rave and rage against us stand your ground you don't have to do it with arrogance do it with love let them know you know what I'm a child of God and those who want you to prove folks I'm not here to prove anything I don't need to prove anything to you I know what I know and I believe what I believe it's not blind faith I've done all my homework but I it's matter of fact let's put it this way I've done so much study in the homework on trying to prove God it always takes me back to God and you know what you can only do your homework all right let's just put it this way you can only go in the lab so many times to prove a thing it's already done it's finished for me I don't argue with people I know what I know and I believe in God there's always hands or butts well what about what about this faith in that religion I'm not worried about that faith in that religion I know I got the truth I know this is the truth well what about the hit missing books in that no you think my God can't preserve a 66 books and keep them collectively together and transition them over 40 plus authors over a course of over a thousand years you don't think my God can do that I serve a God that can do that so my trust in my faith is in God I believe in God I believe his word but be bold be an influencer make sure that you you you you you keep your focus on Christ and not the circumstances in the situations all right that was a great story right there God gave us a great example a great example all right folks let me let me take a moment here please go on our web what's it called our website our church website get registered all right we God and how we know if we are amen something's happened at our church God is God is doing something and just here recently God has just brought people to speak to me to share with me you know about today about what we talked about today I want you to be bold in the faith you're influencers don't think your influences is limited to a platform your influence is everywhere you're at wherever you are you're able to influence but make sure that you do it for the glory of God not for yourself not for this or that but for the glory of God all right and be bold about it the spirit will lead you getting married in about three weeks I'm so excited I'll make sure I don't know they'll let me do a live but I will definitely do like some tick tocks on that he's getting married and I'm so excited and so I want 80s weather well you know come on Arizona it's gonna be in the 80s here and so you can come on down visit the church and you can enjoy our beautiful weather here so but you know what we can say that now folks cuz soon and very soon it's going to be a really hot but with that oh one last thing well I want to thank again and I don't know if they're here I want to thank miss Jennifer the kidney stones Lord I pray for healing right now I pray that you will comfort him Lord I I've not experienced but I've heard that this can be so painful but Lord I pray that you would take the pain away that you would just bless him right now that you would heal him right now that you would just restore his health father I just pray that you would just comfort them right now in the name of Jesus Lord please please please please Lord please we ask this in the name of Jesus amen amen little no we're thinking about him let us know how that turns out tomorrow and Jenny I am so sorry let's talk once again regarding the anointing what that means and so I think that sometimes can be taken out of context but we'll talk about that tomorrow and please remind me the anointing all right everybody I
